Very in-depth review. How would rate the Swampfox Arrowhead with the MIL reticle and the relatively new Vortex Venom with the BDC3 reticle against the PA LPVO? I've heard that PA's tight eye box is its biggest and maybe only negative.
Thank you for the video. Great job. For $339 its very good, but if you want to say its very good you have to start with "for $339". I have the Gen 4 with the Aurora reticle. The Nova is on its way. I will use them on some budget builds I guess. I have PA Compacts on some other builds and like you said - you can see the difference immediately, but you should be able to - $1000 more. PA went after the Vortex PST Gen 2 market with this - for $200+ less. Now I have the PST as well and functionally its sort of close, but the quality of the feel - the turrets - PST is hands down better. As you mentioned for the price the glass quality punches above its weight class for certain. I have seen the dot up close on the Nova it is as bright as I have ever seen. So yes you are getting a better scope for than the $339 spent but you will not confuse it with a high end scope - nor should you.
@@keenshot3482 I have a Gen 4 and its ok for the $339 no doubt, but the quality between the Gen 4 and PST is fairly wide. They say the Gen 4's punch above their weight. Ok they probably do. They say the same thing about the PST - that it is by far the best LPVO under $1000. Who knows right? Its all a matter of choice and what someone is willing to spend I spent 150 more for the PST than I did the Gen 4. It was worth it to me comparing them side by side. The Gen 4 will go on a cheaper build, but its functional.
I actually took my Viper PST off and replaced it with the nova. The gen 4, in my opinion, is a significant improvement over the previous generations and to my eyes, I think it’s a better scope than the viper, and actually reminds me a lot of my Trijicon accupower. I was pleasantly surprised at the glass clarity, eye relief, brightness, and it’s a bit lighter than a lot of other scopes in its class. I paid $215 for it so for me it was a no brainer.
I fully expect the Nova to eat up a lot of PST Gen 2 market share in the future. Used to be "you get what you pay for" with LPVO's. The gen 4 Nova is going to change a lot of minds going forward.
@@keenshot3482 people are still talking mad shit about it because it’s an SLX and a SFP scope…, but the gen 4 is not even in the same ballpark as the previous gen SLX optics. You’re right the optics world isn’t so easily navigated by glass origin anymore. Companies with great glass, better warranties, better customer service, than the big tried and true companies are popping up all the time and wanting a seat at the table. I wanted a SFP in a 1-6. For realistic hunting distances for me I don’t need to splice atoms with a FFP reticle, and the FFP reticle is tiny on 1x.. I hate that.
For the price that illumination is wild. I know PA offers a battery cap that offers the “shake awake” technology, but I almost wish this came with that feature built in to hopefully slim it down a bit because after adding that cap it seems to add some bulk. Still dope
I've heard tons of people mention that price. I have mil discount but it's still $300. Are you active duty by chance? Trying to figure out if I'm missing out lol
#1 optics rulel; if you can't afford it, don't get behind it to try it. If you do, when you move back to what you can affort, you WILL see all of the defects of the cheaper glass and you won't be able to unsee them.

Definitely one of the more honest seeming reviews I've seen. Didn't feel like it was coming from a salesman. Thanks!

Might want to wait until the Nova is in hand first. It compares surprisingly favorably to quite a few much more expensive options, PST included.

Where can you buy it for $215?
I'm trying to compare this to PST as well. Good to know. May I ask where did you get it for $215?
move the scope rearwards and it should help with the tight eye box.

Can confirm on the brightness of the dot. I handled it at NRAAM. It's on my short list of LPVO to buy for my deer gun this year.
For 220 Pre order/Mil for me, I couldn't be happier ☺️ I will definitely buy another one.

Not military nor police nor first responder and looking for best deal for this scope.
Great job on the review!
Excellent job.

When we gonna get an update on the M92?
Am I the only one who has one and sees the 1x as really more of a .75x? At 100 yards, 1x seems to actually be in the middle of the 1 and 2.
Just got mine today and noticed that as well. Much more noticeable tham my cheap tru glo 1-4 lpvo
WhT mount is that?
Anybody know if the windage or any other caps are able to store an extra battery?
What mount is that with Nova?
Aero precision ultra light
did you not watch the video? 🤣
