  • This video shows an easy method of Siding or Wall Leak Repair. A quick repair can save you a lot of trouble.
How to identify when siding is causing the leak on your roof.
    1. If you notice a leak inside your house, try to locate that same spot above on the roof
    2. investigate the general area to see if the flashing is good
    3. If the roof and flashing are still holding, look just above that area where you thought the roof or flashing was leaking, and look for cracked boards on the siding
    4. Painters often use caulking to seal the cracks on the siding that then dries out and crack over time
    5. The paint could also be cracked
    6. Once you find a cracked board, then use Turbo Poly Seal to make the necessary repair

Yeah your right. I wear open toed shoes too. A z flashing would've fixed that but requires a return visit. Use what you have on your truck. And talk about a mess of a job, look at the rest of the work there. Horrible I see these jobs myself

    Great job.
    That plywood looks terrible.
They should at least paint it with an oil-based paint, before it starts to crumble..

Why wouldn't you flash that wall? I know you hate EPDM and TPO, but even a peel and stick granulated would be better than just leaving that exposed plywood.

That was an easy fix and under the soffit area. I want the maintenance guy to paint that plywood. But the repair was easy without having to go to the supply store to get Peel and Stick that would have cost over a $100.

    Sloppy work change the plywood

this was a temporary repair that I had to do to ensure the cricket below is not leaking. The maintenance guy was suppose to install proper siding. Sloppy work? I have to do what I have to do, I can't be bothered with all the problems of so many other service people that fixed things on this roof and caused leaks. The gas lines to the A/C units, the duct work through the walls, electrical conduits, and on and on.
I am merely showing how to patch something on wood. Not trying to show you how to replace plywood
