All the Chinese knockoffs are based on this genuine product by Fisher Price, Fisher Price used to produce a breathing koala but this isn’t available anymore. However they do still sell the otter version & this is what’s in the unboxing video. Though Fisher Price produced this as a baby soother and never intended it to have a therapeutic value for adults we thought we’d give it a try!
The Fisher Price Koala is still showing up as available at Target on their website but it's got poor reviews saying it breaks easily. Maybe that's why Fisher Price stopped making it.

Oh my gosh! Me too! I’m currently suffering PTSD & thought this looked quite good. How wrong I was! Good old Trust Pilot! I normally check that first, as I have been caught out before & it is INFURIATING!! But it’s late & I forgot - thought I’d check on RUclips first - Phew!! So pleased I did!! Thank YOU SO MUCH for taking the time to Upload this Video - it popped up straight away and has been a life saver! I’m currently off work-recovering - so I have to be careful with my money. I suffer profound anxiety and if there was a product I thought could help and it turned out to be something like that, it would be very disappointing. And I'm an adult, not a small child. Imagine kids thinking they were going to get a sleep aid or maybe some relief from what they have to deal with, only to find that kind of thing. i think all scams are bad, but this one really disgusts me. It is indeed disgusting and unbelievably cruel. Since making the video I’ve found roughly another 30 ads on Facebook alone, and have seen them on Amazon, eBay & even RUclips !

I just got this as a gift and I thought it was super cute and soft the only problem was the loud motor of the stomach but other than that I have no complaints I looked up to see if anyone else had the same problem and I came across this video this helped but I don’t have the heart to say anything and I get easily attached to things so I don’t know if I can let it go. Just use it. I just got mine, from Ali. € 10,00 instead of € 31,00 on EVora. Now I know it's a knock off, I won't buy it anymore. I will go to fisher price. But it's a shame they don't make the koala anymore, because I like that way more than the otter. But it is what it is. I can't hear any heartbeat, but it does make a funy sleeping sound which I can get used to I won't let it go if I were you, because that would be a waste of material. I'm going to enjoy it for as long as it lasts. I hope you will to.
I rarely get scammed but this time I didn't do my research and went by the comments on Facebook where people where highly recommending. I ordered two (which I'm yet to receive) one for my daughter who is autistic and one for my partner. Now I'm going to have to break the bad news to my daughter. I've certainly learnt my lesson. I wish I had seen this video sooner, excitement got the better of me unfortunately.
What they ship appears to vary greatly. If you’re lucky you might still receive an OK product. I’m starting to think they maybe mix randomly better made products with the trash so that they will get some good reviews they can share while deleting the bad ones. Fingers crossed for you - please give some feedback when you receive them.
I just saw the ad on insta. Was looking into buying but thought I’ll just double check as the page doesn’t look that popular (no comments but got 10k followers) or reputable. Thanks for doing this video Jude….I almost fell for the otter scam- they are all over eBay too. I wanted to buy the fisher price otter but was worried its breathing mechanism would stop working after a while? It will be interesting to see your take on it if you do get it x

Thanks for the video. I was planning on getting the "official" one from the "official" website but the bulk orders feature (eg, buy two get a discount, buy three get an even bigger discount!") pinged my scam instinct. Not all websites with discounts if you buy more are scams, but it's a big red flag.

I am very disappointed as well. I paid for expedited shipping and did not get it. His stomach is hard from where you can feel the square battery pack so it's not cuddly at all. Also it only stays on for less than 5 minutes and you have to keep turning it back on. I have emailed customer service regarding a return. It is supposed to have a 30 night sleep guarantee. We will see what happens with that. If not I will file a dispute with my bank

This saved me. I saw the koala from a shop in the netherland (where i live) and i have severe insomnia (cant sleep before 6am unfortunatly because my brain can't relax) and i also have severe anxiety and other stuff. So when i saw it was like omg i need this. But as always i try to find reviews on youtube first to see if things are as great as they claim. And now i am glad i checked and found this video. Especially since over here these knock offs cost 61euro... i went to check this shop on teust pilot as well and all the reviews where indeed 1 star as well and samr complaints like the ones feom this video. So again thank you you saved me from an 61euro scam.

I can confirm it is a massive scam. My sister received her koala teddies today. it is unusable. the one does not work at all, and the other one makes a very loud noise while the motor turns. Upon complaining and proving a video, their response is that they find nothing wrong with the video! 😢😢😢😢 Took probably 6 weeks to arrive. disgusted.

I must be honest. I bought a Calming Koala. I did see it on Evora, but when say said in the advertisment that it took 1 to 2 weeks to deliver, I knew enough. Now I bought one on Ali. Instead of € 31,00 I paid € 10,00. For the same. I also saw the otter, but I loved the Koala better. But never checked it out. But now I see that it's Fisher price.... It's a shame that I have a knock off now, but the sound isn't that bad. But not marvelous either. For now I'll just use it. Throwing it away is useless. And after it's broke, I will buy from fisher price. But that would be the otter than, and I just fell for the Koala.
At least you got it at a more reasonable price, looking at the positive side.
People who just bought the koala and now they realize this, and they can’t return it and also I didn’t order it from Evora instead I just ordered it from Amazon, so let’s hope it doesn’t do the same thing as the Evora one

Its definetly not soothing, its very loud, my other half bought it for me, u cant modify it, and its breathing is superrrr loud and it snores, in a high pitch tone, and we got it from the actual company it came 2 months later

Unfortunately I didn’t find this video until it was too late. I actually found this because I got a koala, put batteries in it but it wouldn’t come on, so I thought maybe there’s something you have to do-squeeze his paw or something to make it start, (had one like that when I was a kid) so I googled and this is the first hit. So, I can confirm that this is a scam. I;m quite sad as I was actually pretty excited about this.
I bought one and it doesn't work and it cost me over 30 bucks

thats bullshit! my dog kept barking and was restless and i got it from facebook and it worked really well. although he still suffers from anxiety but this helps him sleep at night and at least at night the barkling has reduced

Wow! you’re lucky. Seems what people receive isn’t consistent at all - there are some real horror stories on Trust pilot. It’s weird that these Chinese companies have copied a Fisher Price baby soother & then sold it saying it’s an anti anxiety product. Seems a safer bet to just buy the original branded Fisher Price product from a standard local store than to have something shipped from China where it seems like pot luck what you’ll eventually receive.
I find it better than the original though tbh

The reason why 80% of the reviews on Trustpilot say it’s a scam is because:
1) it’s a cheap copy of a real product, the Fisher Price Soothe and Snuggle Koala & the Fisher Price Soothe and Snuggle Otter that is still sold simply as a baby soother, not for anxiety relief.
2) what people receive varies widely and often doesn’t look or work as it’s described in the adverts. If yours does then you’ve been lucky & you’re in the minority.
3) the company uses all sorts of dodgy tactics such as deleting any negative comments, not replying to complaints or even trying to blackmail people saying they will only refund them if they summit a 5 star review and claiming to be based in the U.K. when they are based in China.
Just because you’ve been one of the lucky minority why should the majority who’ve received cheap trash “shut up”?
Stop spending your days yapping about toys just find one you like and make a video with that
@@ariaavocado922 Yapping? 99% of my videos are positive. But occasionally I come across scams or the odd toy that I don’t feel is very good. As you can see from the majority of comments on this video most people appreciate that.
