I know very well of their dangers, so with the skydancers went slow with the pull rope (and not to hold it so close to someone or your face). as for the oven, parents for the cooking/baking part. getting the treat out of it, keeping watch on the minioven while it cooked the treat. I think little kids who swallowed them should not have had them at all. So the toys should've gone to older kids who know better then that. Instead of pulling them off the shelves. My sister had a Sky Dancer and never got hurt. The little girls who did while watching them spin and fly should've dodged them, or catch the dolls by the leg. But, realistically, sometimes it's the child to blame. Unless they're very small who don't know better, then there should b labels like "This toy is meant for 8 to over".
Most toys are clearly labeled with an age limit on them - it's been that way as far back as I can remember. The problem is, some parents are just careless because they consider the recommended age a suggestion and not a requirement.
I remember my cousin had a Magnetix set. It was a blue plastic briefcase like box with a metal base that was sunken into one of the flat sides so you could use the case as a building platform. They were clearly not intended for children who would be young enough to consider eating the pieces. Shame that they were discontinued because a lot of parents only viewed the age-limit on toys as suggested and not required.
I had loads of magnetix sets that I played with, my dad even got into it and we'd spend some nights just building with em. I had wondered why they disappeared suddenly, it's a shame 😢
I remember the Pokeball recall. It was the only recall that I was aware of when I was a kid, it even had a short commercial explaining it. I was already old enough to not let myself choke on one of those, so I kept mine.

I *_really_* hate that I missed out on Buckyballs, but they were kind of expensive considering how many I would want to purchase. I had a toy that was a huge magnet base and hundreds of tiny, thin metal shards that you stick together to make sculptures. It certainly would not be allowed today, but we played with it for hours and I never once thought about eating one of the pieces. I also owned a toy similar to sky dancers that was just a small dowel rod with a propeller piece on the end. You spun it with your hands. I hit myself in the face with it so many times, and it hurt, but I blamed myself for not being careful instead of Mexico for making the simple toy. Also also, I owned Lawn Darts and have a set of decades-old clackers in a box somewhere.
I was very upset when the Pokeballs had to be recalled. I loved carrying it around to pretend I was a trainer We never hurt each other with Sky Dancers. The biggest issue was them getting stuck on the roof of the house.
Parents: *Buys young child toys clearly meant for older kids or even teenagers* Child: *Gets hurt by the toy* Parents: This is the company's fault. Governments: You are absolutely correct, we could never blame parents!
A lot of these recalls seem like they could be avoided if the products just advertised not for children under three. Seems weird to me that a lot of babies were playing with these toys. I guess there's a lot of dumb parents out there that don't take responsibility for their own actions and shouldn't have had kids to begin with. Edit: I feel bad for Buckyballs. I've never heard of them before this but they weren't intended for kids so the parents who gave them to their toddlers are the ones to blame. Idiots shouldn't have kids. As a 80's kid, I'm disappointed about the hoverboards. If they can't make ones like the movie they shouldn't have been made at all.
They do advertise that. Parents just dont care or dont read or maybe both. Probably the same parents who got angry when they took their kid to see Deadpool.
I get most of these being recalled, but Buckyballs was completely unfairly recalled because of parents that didn't have common sense and refused to accept accountability.
Back in the early 70's, I had a pair of beautiful, blue Clackers. They were great, until, after only having them about a week or two, I was playing with them and got hit really hard in the head. My mom saw the welt and took them away permanently. I was devastated!
It’s almost always the neglectful parents who let their small children play with toys that they may or may not have been old enough to even play with that end up getting toys recalled. Obviously there are exceptions like the C.S.I kit with literal asbestos, but the Pokéballs, those were almost entirely the fault of the parents leaving their children UNDER 3 with a toy said for kids OVER 3!
I freaking knew lawn darts would be number one! In fact I have a very good story about how one kid nearly destroyed my uncle with him a lawn dart if it wasn't for the fact that he missed him completely.
@@SignatureFox713 I just can’t imagine letting a child watch a show like that. Maybe seeing commercials or something but watching enough to want a toy based on an adult show befuddles me.
@@theupliftchannel in all fairness I was 11 or so at the time, so I wasn’t a YOUNG child by any means. But this was also after my brother was nearly murdered himself. So I think my parents were just trying to keep me happy by letting me watch whatever DVDs we had on the car rides, and that was one of them
Saw someone lose their balance on a hover board while riding it down the sidewalk. The guy didn’t completely fall but he did run out in front of me while I was driving. He smiled afterwards probably thinking how lucky he was not to get hit by a truck.
I had the first Polly Pocket quick clip pack thing many years ago. Enjoyed it though the magnets were finicky at times, parents asked if I ever put them in my mouth and I did not luckily. Never returned it, still kind of a cool toy overall despite the obvious hazards
It looks really cool. Disappointed they took it off. It's like anything with magnets just can't be a part of children's toys. So they can't have really cool shit like that. They're stuck with characters with boring clothes, or clothes molded on. Lame!
@@fodkfkdkfkfkfjfjfj if you eat two of them, they'll migrate through your intestine, and eventually they could get close enough to start attracting each other, and if they're strong enough, they'll start punching holes to do so.
I purchased one of those floating months ago and returned it after one use (baby hated it and it was dangerous) I was out almost half my money because they said they want to resell the returned items so I paid a restocking fee and had to pay to ship it back to them. They aren’t going to stop selling these things
I have my dad's 1950's lawn darts. He and I played them all the time when I was little, and still do to this day. Never once got hurt. Hell, it's our fav summer time game at the cottage, and we ALWAYS play when we've been drinking lol.
Why is it always kids eating magnets... I had plenty of toys that were magnetic and not once did I eat them. Nor did I eat Play dough. I think because my parents would always say, if we ruined our toys we were not getting another for awhile.
To me it seems most of these items were a case of parental failure... Why are American parents so incompetent at ensuring they get age appropriate toys? Same with Kinder surprise. We've had them for 30+ years in Sweden/Europe, the US had to ban them... Ikea hutches are no issue here, yet killed x amount of kids in the US...
The otteroo wasn't recalled it was the knock off versions of it. As a result they did a voluntary stop to improve the product based on where the others failed, and relaunched it. it was also never marketed as a toy, it's a physical therapy aid. otterroo NEVER had a drowning or death. It was knock off companies. We used one with my infant after the suggestion of our physical therapist to help my baby with tongue tie and neck torticolus.
I learned to bake with an old metal Easy Bake Oven that looked like an oven with a front door and a metal rack... We baked even apple slices in that thing! Okay, so the banana set fire ONE time, but we didn't care. Nobody cared. We just kept playing. How times have changed!
I had a clacker, I remember hitting myself with it more than actually having fun with it. My friend had the easy bake oven, it was too hot for kids, but I didn't get burned. I didn't have lawn darts, but I did throw butter knives at my brother when I was a kid. Oh, the good old days. 😁🤣👍

I had a Sky Dancer toy. I didn't know either of them had been recalled until this video
I had sky dancers when I was a kid so did most of my friends and none of us was stupid enough to pull the string close to our faces or aim it at another person.
My brother had Magnetix and I remember them being a lot of fun (we were both clearly old enough to know to not swallow them). I wish I still knew where they were because of how rare they are now. Also my sister had aqua dots, but they had a different name, so IK they were not the recalled ones. I remember having a Sky Dancer for a bit but I could only use it with my dad around (this was before the recall). I feel like he took it away after the recall but I was pretty young so IDK for sure. We also had these launching discs that worked similarly but were soft and round and that didn't get recalled. Still had those after Sky Dancers but had to do those with Dad watching *and* only outside.
Ok, I grew up with sky dancers! WE WERE SHO0TING THEM AT EACH OTHER!! That is what really caused the injuries. They were recalled because we had more fun launching them at one another then we did playing with them correctly 😅
My 67yo mother still has her Clackers. About 12 years ago, she took them out and showed me how they work when I asked about them. I fucking hit the deck in fear of my life when she got that thing going. My mother is often a mousy, silly, or introverted person, but for some reason, watching her use that thing with such terrifying efficiency and strength just freaked me out too much. lol
I remember my little sister when still toddler once stuck bead toys on her nose and need to be taken to clinic. But after that she still allowed to play with it because she learn not to stuck it again. Most of this recall seems not necessary if the child can be teached
I'm surprised they didn't have the creepy crawly oven on this list. I had one and loved putting the creepy crawly fluid in the molds and watching them solidify into all kinds of bugs. There was the rings and things as well as the incredible edibles. I never got burned even though it got incredibly hot. It even got hotter than my stepsister's easy bake oven. I had sense enough to be careful. I was upset when they recalled them. I couldn't get the fluid or new molds anymore.
I had a magnetix set. I had a lot of fun with it. I used to make a lot of small pyramids with it. I also had a fidget spinner, however I only played with it at home because they got banned at school. And the last one I had was an easy bake oven. That's where my love of cooking comes from.
I have pica, a disorder where you have the urge to chew or eat things that aren't food. To this day as a 17 year old, I still put things in my mouth I shouldn't. However, I was still smart enough at 4 years old not to put a magnet in my mouth. Read age warnings on toys, they're there for a reason
I don’t think it was all Sarge items, just the Mattel ones from 2006 and only the ones made in China.I think if a 2006 Sarge diecast is from Thailand it’s safe, also the Sarge shown at 8:48 was released by the Disney Store and not Mattel.
Had a feeling Aquadots would be on here. I'd recommend Aquabeads, the by the Japanese company Epoch, the orignal creators of the water based art beads. Those ones are safe. They have many sets with some from anime and Nintendo like Demon Slayer and Splatoon
I remember Lawn Darts when I was a kid( they used to be called Jarts) and my family enjoyed them along with the neighbors. But when we played them, I don't recall anyone being careless and we made sure the little kids were a safe distance while playing.
Easy bake oven came with a massive push handle for the pans. Those hands should have NEVER been near the oven's holes. What were the parents doing?! Lock the oven up until the kid can be supervised! It's an OVEN!
I had the a Sky Dancer as a kid and loved it. Never hurt myself with it (always held it away from my face when launching it). Honorable mention: the original Polly Pocket (the teeny tiny ones that came in a compact). I had a few of those growing up, and I loved them. I still have a soft spot for them. I work at a thrift store, and I've "saved" a couple of the older models because we can't legally sell them because of the choking hazard.
Lol I remember having one of those Pokeballs and I used to put it on my mouth all the time. Actually I had three of these toys on the list as an child.

Dude, nice profile pic!
you can still buy those magnetic sculpture things, they just have bigger, less pointy pieces!
I was very upset when the Pokeballs had to be recalled. I loved carrying it around to pretend I was a trainer
We never hurt each other with Sky Dancers. The biggest issue was them getting stuck on the roof of the house.
One kids eye out and it effects everyone.
The thing I hated about Sky Dancers was they'd quit working after a while.
I think of the vid about the sky dancer that flew in the lit fireplace it's still fummy to this day
That one's just hilarious.
Parents: *Buys young child toys clearly meant for older kids or even teenagers*
Child: *Gets hurt by the toy*
Parents: This is the company's fault.
Governments: You are absolutely correct, we could never blame parents!
IT'S THE PARENT'S FAULT!
@@charlottebuckley2248 Absolutely
My son loved aqua dots. He was so angry that they were recalled.
If a ring can easily fit over a baby's head, you should be scared. That's something I live by
I had both Skydancers and an Easy Bake Oven. Never got hurt by any of them.
A lot of these recalls seem like they could be avoided if the products just advertised
not for children under three. Seems weird to me that a lot of babies were playing with
these toys. I guess there's a lot of dumb parents out there that don't take responsibility
for their own actions and shouldn't have had kids to begin with.
Edit: I feel bad for Buckyballs. I've never heard of them before this but they weren't intended for kids
so the parents who gave them to their toddlers are the ones to blame. Idiots shouldn't have kids.
As a 80's kid, I'm disappointed about the hoverboards. If they can't make ones like the movie they
shouldn't have been made at all.
They do advertise that. Parents just dont care or dont read or maybe both. Probably the same parents who got angry when they took their kid to see Deadpool.
Clackers got a rename called lato lato
I get most of these being recalled, but Buckyballs was completely unfairly recalled because of parents that didn't have common sense and refused to accept accountability.
Oh I had a version of clackers in the 90s....that sound never goes away.
and its sounds again here in philippines
Neither does the desire of children to have loud noise makers to annoy adults with...
Back in the early 70's, I had a pair of beautiful, blue Clackers. They were great, until, after only having them about a week or two, I was playing with them and got hit really hard in the head. My mom saw the welt and took them away permanently. I was devastated!
Big, beautiful, blue clackers!! 😂
I know we had a set of lawn darts before the ban took effect, that was the way it was in the '70s.
We played with lawn darts when I was a kid. They usually got stuck up in the trees 🌳 I always enjoyed playing with my late grandparents.
I freaking knew lawn darts would be number one! In fact I have a very good story about how one kid nearly destroyed my uncle with him a lawn dart if it wasn't for the fact that he missed him completely.
I feel like the lesson of this video, is that if your child can't be trusted not to swallow their toys, they are too young to have those toys.
I have never understood why a child would even know what CSI is.
I mean, I knew what it was
@@SignatureFox713 I just can’t imagine letting a child watch a show like that.

Clackers. In 2023, they are such a huge trend with kids in southeast Asia. In the Philippines, it’s called lato-lato.
Young kids can choke of anything. It is that the parents can turn their backs for a minute, and the child will swallow anything and everything.
Anyone else notice at 15:49 when the narrator and the reporter say "half a million" at the same time? 😂
Lame!
how does magnets make it dangerous though
@@fodkfkdkfkfkfjfjfj if you eat two of them, they'll migrate through your intestine, and eventually they could get close enough to start attracting each other, and if they're strong enough, they'll start punching holes to do so.
Yup had the Sarge toy, trying to get my money back was a nightmare. We just kept the toy instead.
I purchased one of those floating months ago and returned it after one use (baby hated it and it was dangerous) I was out almost half my money because they said they want to resell the returned items so I paid a restocking fee and had to pay to ship it back to them. They aren’t going to stop selling these things
So almost all of these recalled toys came down to choking hazards.
Gah the product in the thumbnail gives me the worst kind of anxiety
My brother's loved playing with the Sky Dancers. We'd turn on the fan and shoot the dolls up into the fan. If we got hurt, it was our own fault.
I have my dad's 1950's lawn darts. He and I played them all the time when I was little, and still do to this day. Never once got hurt. Hell, it's our fav summer time game at the cottage, and we ALWAYS play when we've been drinking lol.
Drinking water?
I saw one of the csi crime scene kits at goodwill once. I bought it just to throw it away so nobody else could get hold of it.
I have an easy bake
It’s hard AF to get the food in or out but honestly that’s a good thing
this is why we cannot have nice things
12:55 did anyone else notice those wooden Thomas toys in the background?
You could also skip the problem altogether by not having kids (in this already overpopulated world).
Why is it always kids eating magnets... I had plenty of toys that were magnetic and not once did I eat them. Nor did I eat Play dough. I think because my parents would always say, if we ruined our toys we were not getting another for awhile.
My sister had that weird Barbie dog and as a little kid, I thought it was the pinnacle of comedy because haha poopy.
Weren’t sky dancers also prone to flying into the fire.
Dang it, you just brought back a Vine.
I actually cried after seeing the vine when I was younger cause I felt bad for the fairy 😂
1:40 Springfield Files ep. 😆
I loved my Sky Dancer even if she caused us some bruises 😂
Drove my parents insane for those Pokémon toys
To be fair to Otteroo, I don’t think the float was intended to allow parents to leave their baby ALONE in the bath
I learned to bake with an old metal Easy Bake Oven that looked like an oven with a front door and a metal rack... We baked even apple slices in that thing! Okay, so the banana set fire ONE time, but we didn't care. Nobody cared. We just kept playing. How times have changed!
Thank For the Top 20 Video ✌️🙂💞💕💐🌟🥇🏆
I had a clacker, I remember hitting myself with it more than actually having fun with it.
My friend had the easy bake oven, it was too hot for kids, but I didn't get burned.
I didn't have lawn darts, but I did throw butter knives at my brother when I was a kid.
Oh, the good old days. 😁🤣👍
Why did you throw butter knives at your brother
@@melissagrant4178 because he is a devil spawn, who did bad things and blamed me for it all. He's still a demon in disguise, I don't have anything to do with him anymore.
3:36 colonial scarab and colonial viper ! I had both!
I had a Sky Dancer toy. Never caused any injuries but she did end up on the roof of my grandparents house for ages and was very sun-bleached when she finally got found lol
I also had Magnetix and really enjoyed them, but I was an older kid at that point. I didn't know either of them had been recalled until this video
Lol thank you for showing homer screaming after Mr. Burns said don’t be afraid.
Lawn darts was soooooo much fun. Had a vintage one growing up
I had sky dancers when I was a kid so did most of my friends and none of us was stupid enough to pull the string close to our faces or aim it at another person.
I had a magnetix set too. It was a lot of fun.
My mother is often a mousy, silly, or introverted person, but for some reason, watching her use that thing with such terrifying efficiency and strength just freaked me out too much. lol
Satisfying use of footage thank u mojo
"A lot can go wrong with two balls and a rope."
Yeah no, that one's too easy.
I never choked on my Burger King Pokeball , lucky me.
I still have my cabbage patch snacktime kid, easy bake oven, and my sky dancers 😂
I’m surprised that lot of Sarge toys that came out when Cars (2006) was coming out in theaters had been recalled.
I don’t think it was all Sarge items, just the Mattel ones from 2006 and only the ones made in China.I think if a 2006 Sarge diecast is from Thailand it’s safe, also the Sarge shown at 8:48 was released by the Disney Store and not Mattel.
It was only the China Mattel toys from early 2006 that have been recalled. Anything beyond that is safe.
Wait, what!? Lead!? Oh, no! I’ll have to check mine.
Thank you for the update, WatchMojo..!! I wish I had those aqua toys when I grew up. 🤣
I had the an Easy Bake (mine looked like the one in the M&M commercial) , Sky Dancers and Magnetixs and I think that polly pocket
I work at a thrift store, and I've "saved" a couple of the older models because we can't legally sell them because of the choking hazard.
seeing this video makes me think about the fact that in some species some individuals are smart and evolve and others are too dumb and die
You forgot Creepy Crawlers
Clackers is currently enjoying a resurgence in popularity in the Philippines, and yes, that thing is annoying af

Fun Fact
That kid from the Nerf commercial is the same guy that later played Stan on the music video of the same name by Eminem.
Lol I remember having one of those Pokeballs and I used to put it on my mouth all the time.
Actually I had three of these toys on the list as an child.
toys i owned: (i was fine, never got hurt from any of them)
-barbie & tanner
-fidget spinners
-easy bake oven (i loved this!! i think i still have one in storage somewheres)
