The 90s were crazy, in the way of toys people standing in line for hours, and fighting over the toys in the store. I was never crazy enough, to fight over them. I just waited until later, and my daughter would wind up getting whatever it was some time later. I still have some of her toys. Thanks Rhetty.
That's great you still have the toys! Some of them may be worth a lot but I know that doesn't cover the sentimental value. Every year in the 90s it seemed like were waiting to see what people would go crazy over. Thank you for watching Patricia!
Born 1984, I had the turtles, tiger handheld, Sega, X-Men action figures and so much more! I miss the 90s... best Christmas ever for me was 1996-1998 These videos are just as valuable as the items that are shown! Thank you!
Treasure trolls were really popular in the 90s. I can remember being in third grade and it was a big thing to have a treasure troll sitting on the edge of your desk.

I didn’t think about an unused wood stove we had in the middle of our backyard we never used. One day. I whipped it into the air and it exploded on the stove! I hated back then that it got destroyed and definitely hate it now. I could’ve still been flipping the head back and forth 😭

My sister had the tickle me Elmo. My cousin had the Buzz Lightyear. The super nintendo was my favorite. Played Mario for hours throughout my childhood and beat the final level, Bowser's Castle, a couple of times! I remember Fox Kids. Such deep nostalgia with that one.
Rhett, I enjoyed your video about toys of the 1990's. I loved hearing the backstory of the variety of toys you featured, I wasn't familiar with some of the toys. I do remember people getting into long lines and waiting overnight for toy stores to open for these toys. Also, I remember people getting into verbal and physical fights over these toys for their children. Great presentation of this story. Hope Ranger is on the mend, and hugs to him. Take care 🐎

Thank you for watching and sharing your memories Jodie! Sounds like your kids had a wonderful childhood. Thqt WWF and WWE was big in the 80s and 90s but I didn't realize it went outside of the U.S. and Canada so that is interesting. I guess it was far bigger than I realized. You're a good Mom keeping all that and they will appreciate that at some point. So many mothers seem to throw them out, give them away or sell them. Whatever you do definitely do not ever sell them in a yard sale. I'm sure you have some valuable toys from the sound of it. But really I know that doesn't replace the sentimental value.
@@RhettyforHistory The wrestling has always been big here, and is still showing on the t.v here to this day, (I just don’t watch it anymore). Over the years they have even brought the show on the road out to Australia. I was once into it a little myself, I can’t remember the year it was (maybe 1986) I went to watch it because my favourite (tiger mask) was coming to wrestle and I didn’t even have to travel 1 1/2 hours to Sydney because they came here to Wollongong. The Wollongong entertainment centre wasn’t built until 1998, but they came to the home of the Illawarra Hawks basketball centre (they wouldn’t play it there today) to many people here now. NOW funny story here Rhetty, my mum told me her parents both loved the wrestling and when my mum was young (she was born 1946) they went to see a show in Sydney, so might have been late 50s early 60s. My nana was in the seat right next to the aisle and Killer Kowalski came out, as he walked passed her, she went to hit him in the head and her family had to stop her 😂. So I guess it’s no surprise after all that my son used to be a huge fan as kid. We seem to get a lot of what you have over there, over here shows, toys etc. Hope you enjoyed the story, I know I did when my mum told me. Bye 👋 for now.
Sounds like the love of wrestling is in your family for sure. Thank you for sharing that story on your mom I enjoyed that! Your mom sounds feisty! Or maybe she was influenced but the wrestling and wanted to trying out.
@@RhettyforHistoryit was my nana, my mum was there but she was about 10 at the time. I didn’t even know until recently that my grandparents loved the wrestling. Glad my mum shared it with me.
Furby! I still have all my Furbies. And still play with some of them that hadn’t died yet. Also don’t forget about the Shelby and Gizmo I remember that annoying Tickle Me Elmos
Hey Rhett, my grandkids enjoyed a lot of these toys. My granddaughter got a tickle me Elmo and loved it. My son bought the Play Station and kept up with each station as they came out. Thanks for putting this out there. You're really good at the research and everything that you present in your videos.
Thank you so much for watching! Sounds like your son is really into gaming. That Tickle Me Elmo sure was a sought after item! Your grandkids had some great toys!
Hi Rhetty! Thanks for posting this video! I still have a Sega Genesis 3 system and a 2nd Nintendo 64 system with all of the games and equipment to go with both and I still play them to this day! A lot of people know me as an old school gamer and I still have fun with these systems! While I have never owned a Playstation 1 system- I have previously owned a PS 2, and currently own a PS3 which I still have and maintain all of these systems to this day! They are still a boatload of fun- and I still have some titles that my parents gave me for Christmas gifts and I still play them! Again- thanks for posting this- because this brought back a lot of great memories!
Growing up in the 90s, I had several TY Beanie Babies. Since they still make them, my children have received some as gifts, and the the first thing my children do is rip off the tags. 😳 I know they probably aren't worth anything, but my inner child is screaming, "You CAN'T do that!!" But hey, at least my children are actually playing with and enjoying their Beanie Babies.
Honorable mention: Creepy Crawlers. Although it originated in 1964 a newer/safer model was re-introduced in 1992 and was very popular. One of my favorite toys of the 90’s. What are some other “honorable mentions” toys that didn’t make this list?
Loved the Power Rangers movies! Had a lot of these (yard sales and the second hand store provided!) but I had a new bop it! Had a knock off tamagotchi from the Bi Way, cried when it died. Had so many beanie babies, still have kept a few! Furby scared me! I hated them. Wonder where all those tickle me Elmo’s went?? And Pogs!! I had sooo many tubes of them! My most prized ones were the goosebumps collection ❤ I remember getting supernes for my 6th Christmas along with the nightmare before Christmas vhs (best Christmas ever!) super Mario world, earthworm Jim, super Mario rpg and Kirby’s avalanche were my favourites! We had a lot of corporate created fun!
Damn I’m 34 now and I still have some of my original power ranger figures from the 90s. I’m so glad my parents kept most of my figures from when i was a kid
Born in 92 and honestly the 90s and early 00s were the best. I was one of the last generations to reallt remember homes without internet. If you hadbit you were rich and youre parents were on it more than thr kids. Wed all play outside with eachother. It was just a better time to be a kid
Born in 90' and words can't describe how much fun the original Super Soakers were. Before them, you had small dollar store water guns. I vaguely remember the older models having backpacks. Super Soakers turned water fights into serious conflicts 🤣
Betty Spaghetty! It's all coming back to me now! I totally forgot I used to have one of the toys (got it from McDonald's happy meal toys). Was born in '92 and I have brothers who were born in the mid to late 80's so I remember most of the toys especially Pokemon cards, Game Boy and Tamagotchi. I am old, huh? 🤣
Moonshoes!!!! I had a pair of those, and they were the best things ever!! I think my dad still has my furby at the house that I got in 97. That thing would wake up randomly and start talking. I've modeled an alien creature in my recent novel after that thing.
I had crazy bones before, I got them out a candy claw machine that also had little toy packs in it. Me and my sister would take our money and play that claw machine while our mother did laundry at the laundry mat
This brings back memories I had a couple of super soakers, my sister and I had many water gun fights. I had a bop it also. Had probably a couple hundred pokemon cards wish I would have kept them. Sold them in a yard sale. I had a green digital pet toy. My sister collected beanie babies. My sister had those Betty Spaghetti dolls and a few Ferbies. I never had one. I had a tickle me elmo also along with a Buzz Lightyear. Had a Playstation also. Great video as always Rhetty. This brought back alotbof memories.
Sounds like you and your sister had quite a few of these together. I hope you didn't have any rare Pokémon cards but who knew it would be so valuable. The 90s definitely has some highly desired toys. There definitely isn't another decade where parents went so crazy over getting toys. Thank you for watching!
When I think of the 90s for toys, I think of the Teletubbies … “PO” was the hardest one to find but I managed to track one down for our two year old daughter in 98. She still has it along with her tickle me Elmo and a few beanie babies today. It saddens me to hear that parents literally beat each other up in stores for toys eh! People can be so nasty. Merry Christmas everyone and have a safe holiday season. 🇨🇦🎄😊

Oh I see! Makes it even funnier that it was your Nana!
Furby! I still have all my Furbies. And still play with some of them that hadn’t died yet.
Also don’t forget about the Shelby and Gizmo
I remember that annoying Tickle Me Elmos
I enjoyed this soo much wish it was in absolute order but you did great slip n slide was huge in 90s too
Hey Rhett, my grandkids enjoyed a lot of these toys.
@@RhettyforHistory they did.
My grandkids were the ones mostly into gaming.
However, my son did like a good game of baseball.
The games have come a long ways from the days of Atari!
@@RhettyforHistory
I'll say. Graphics are nuts.
So real like.
They have gotten a lot more complicated too!
O man I luv my street sharks still have 2 left ..think I’ll buy them again now that I’m thinking bout it
Man I miss the 90s.
Thank you for watching Kyla!
Growing up in the 90s, I had several TY Beanie Babies. Since they still make them, my children have received some as gifts, and the the first thing my children do is rip off the tags. 😳 I know they probably aren't worth anything, but my inner child is screaming, "You CAN'T do that!!"
But hey, at least my children are actually playing with and enjoying their Beanie Babies.
Honorable mention: Creepy Crawlers. Although it originated in 1964 a newer/safer model was re-introduced in 1992 and was very popular. One of my favorite toys of the 90’s. What are some other “honorable mentions” toys that didn’t make this list?
That damn Emmo , a bunch of teens bought that stupid Tickle Me Emmo at school . 😂😂😂
I still remember the Street Sharks “commercial”. Had the hand-worn shark eating a jelly doughnut
Oh my, I think I have purchased everything you showed. LOL.
Oh wow! You were busy then! Thank you for watching!
born in 87 too 😂 i had almost everything in the video ...i loved mighty max
No generation can defeat the 90s
I remember waiting in line for these toys. I am glad my daughter is older now she waits in line for me. My my how things change 😂
Yes they do! The 90s had some big toys! Thank you for watching!
Damn I’m 34 now and I still have some of my original power ranger figures from the 90s. I’m so glad my parents kept most of my figures from when i was a kid
i am turning 34 i was also fan of power ranger's
Born in 92 and honestly the 90s and early 00s were the best. I was one of the last generations to reallt remember homes without internet. If you hadbit you were rich and youre parents were on it more than thr kids. Wed all play outside with eachother. It was just a better time to be a kid
You nailed it! I had all of these. Great video
I LOVED littlest pet shop. Had several of the original sets
I remember people thought those Beanie Babies would be worth something someday!
They sure did. Thank you for watching!
Some actually are but none of the ones people thought. I remember the book that would tell you thr value😂
Born in 90' and words can't describe how much fun the original Super Soakers were. Before them, you had small dollar store water guns. I vaguely remember the older models having backpacks. Super Soakers turned water fights into serious conflicts 🤣
There is one you didnt mention, My son and his friends were into the Beetle Borgs. I'm pretty sure that is the name of them. Thank you for the video.
You're welcome. I know there are a lot of toys I didn't cover. Hopefully I hit the crazy popular ones. Thanks again for watching!
Me admiring me large jumbo Beanie Boo collection realising they were inspired by the 90s Beanie Babies.
The company has been around awhile and are still appealing to everyone. Thank you for watching!
@@RhettyforHistory Me pleasure I love these videos that look back in time.
Moonshoes!!!! I had a pair of those, and they were the best things ever!!
I think my dad still has my furby at the house that I got in 97. That thing would wake up randomly and start talking.
I've modeled an alien creature in my recent novel after that thing.
My friend's Furby would do that, too!! Always creeped me out!
PS in NZ that game with crazy bones was called knuckle bones here, but I don't recall those models here, we mostly had silver knuckle bones
I remember going to a toy store special 2am opening to get my son a Tickle Me Elmo. He loved that toy!
Sorta like the Arnold Schwarzenegger movie “The Last Action Hero “.
@@RhettyforHistory my pleasure Rhetty always enjoy your videos.
@@RhettyforHistory have you ever been to the Bonnie and Clyde Ambush Museum in Louisiana?
I appreciate that and it's good to hear you do.
No I have not but I know there are or were two museums in that little town.
Super awesome content here thanks for sharing ! 💥
My childhood, it was magical growing up in the 90s
I remember original trilogy Star Wars toys were popular, especially between 1997 and 1999
Great video, very helpful. Thank you
You're welcome and thank you for watching!
Barney blew a lot of peoples pockets
Yes he did. He was a hot item in the 90s. Thank you for watching!
@@RhettyforHistory I had a Barney birthday party in 97 everyone was there my aunt filmed it all there’s a home video of it and I played a Barney toy Christmas in 97 my grandpa took it away from me so I could open the rest of my presents that year the best about it I was saying what about that when my aunt said Barney was with my grandpa those days were the best
My kids used to have Super Soaker battles. They loved those things! Not so great when the game turned to “let’s get mom” 😂😂😂 we also had the original Bop It and albums full of Pokémon cards and still have Beanie Babies.
You know what nostalgia to the max!!!. It was a simple time back then, because a lot of peeps. Watching this particular video deff were borne 8n the 80, deff grew up in the 90s. 90s babbles rejoice. No internet. No social media. No ........... Just diffrent that's all.
Oh, my goodness! I just realized and remembered that I had a Game Gear!!! Wow, I had quite a few of these toys & wish I held on to them. But my family moved and left many things behind.
Ahh nostalgia. That's reminds me of an old family saying " You eat a pizza, You get a pizza"
Pogs in 90's Marbles in 80's pretty much got youth trained to gamble at such a young age. Funny
Still have my Furby and beanie babies.
Thank you for watching and sharing what you still have Edith!
Born in 92 and I remember ALL of these 😭 oh my childhood
Thank you for watching!
@@RhettyforHistory I was born in 95 there’s even a home video of of me on my birthday in 97 and Christmas in 97 and 98 I’m glad to be a 90’s baby too bad our childhood is gone forever
Spawn is another big toy lineup, still continues today.
i remember some of these also anything classic pokemon or 90's vintage has potential to blow up in value in the collectors market.
Yes it does. Thank you for watching!
Love and miss the 90s it was wild and so much fun
Thank you for watching Tuttle Reed!
I remember the tickle me Elmo craze and I never cared about it.... Now had they made a make me fart fozzy, then I would have been on it... Wakka wakka wakka
I remember these toys of the 1990's me and my sister grew up in this era
There really were some great ones in this decade and people really went crazy over some. Thank you for watching!
Brought me back and wish I kept my stuff moving too much, you can lose most of your stuff. Miss those toys
