@AndersErickson Thank you very much for your content. You have helped me through my rye series and I have gained an appreciation for mixed drinks that I did not have until I started watching your channel and drinking your concoctions.

If you can get your hands on a bottle of Corbin Cash 1917 Rye. This is the most interesting rye I've ever had before. Made of 100% Merced rye they grow themselves. They are a farm to bottle distillery in California. It is just different when it comes to rye. This bottle is a high proof rye at 123 proof. They have lower proof ryes but I suggest the 1917 bottle. I just love this bottle! Hard to describe the flavors coming out of this one.
I'll keep an eye out for it. The name does not sound familiar to me so I'm not sure it's carried in my area.
Go Peter and Mary-Bridget! -your thousands of fans in Seattle, WA. Love the Uncut Extras
Cheers to all the good people up in Seattle! Good to know the extras are being watched. We appreciate it.
Thanks to all the fans in Seattle! Great place!!! I’ve been a few times and always have a great time. Thanks for watching the extras. Now that we know people are watching, I may have to have Peter continue with his stupidly funny jokes!! 😂 Cheers!
Im a fan of rye. But not sure about drinking chocolate covered pine needles with hints of earth😂. But what the heck, I may have a glass just to try.
It's a strange one, but it hit my palate the right way this day and was fantastic in the cocktail. Cheers!
I would love a bottle of this, unfortunately it's hard to get here in Ireland, but it is available in one place at the moment, at a usd price of 115 dollars, no way I'm paying that.
115 is way too much. I would not pay that either. Cheers!
Everything in moderation.... including moderation!
You got that right! Well said.
I haven't tried their Rye, but I've tried four other bottles from Balcones and I'm not a fan of that Texas funk. I like their story, love the bottle design, and used to be a Texan, but it's just not for me.
Fair enough. I have the single malt, pot still bourbon, and the rye. I think that will be enough for me for a while. Cheers!
@@whiskeyisajourney The four I tried were the Pot Still Bourbon, the Peated Single Malt, Brimstone, and Tres Hombres (ZZ Top). I think they're all really well made, just not for me.
Cannot wait to watch this! This rye came up for us recently and the video is wild with some very offbeat notes.
Definitely got the chocolate blind but we read the earthiness is a bit of a… different way. 😆 We’ve heard of that cocktail but have never tried it. We gotta fix that, stat.
It is definitely a different kind of experience. I can see going back to this and not liking it, but today I like it.
After I finished the video I still had some left in the glass. It took me 30min to drink the rest. The more I tried to pull something else out of it the more roasted coffee I got. It also got slightly bitter. Looking forward to seeing your take on it. When you have the cocktail let me know what you think of it. Cheers!
Got this bottle in today after your review , i actually like this! i get all the same tasting notes as you, especially the roasted coffee. cheers
Good to know. I'm happy it was something you liked. Cheers!
Picked up a bottle today based on your review. Thanks Peter
Okay. Let me know what you think of it when you have it.
Great episode Peter, congrats on retirement! Looking forward to trying a Balcones one day.
Thanks. It's interesting, but not a whiskey you need to run out and get.
Interesting, I will have to get a pour or a sample for this somewhere. Cheers!
It's a strange but interesting one.
Congrats on the upcoming retirement Peter! I'm looking forward to even more content from September.
Thank you. Unfortunately, an ailing mother with Alzheimer's is driving me to retirement. It's time for me to take care of her now. On to a new chapter in my life. Cheers.
I tried this Balcones bottle once and that was it. It's way too different than the high rye mash bill whiskies I'm accustomed to and love.
Love your T-shirt Mary-Bridget, and a belated Happy Mother's Day to you as well. One of my favorite quotes... Life doesn't come with a manual, it comes with a mother.
Sorry to hear about your mother's health. Take good care of her. ❤
Thanks Lorenz. I'll do my best to look after her like she has looked after me my entire life. Great quote!
That's a great quote, but all (or at least most) mothers will tell you we just make it up as we go along and hope we get some of it right. The only thing we can really do is our best and hope that's enough. I think that's true for all people, not just mothers. Also, thanks for the shirt compliment! The Beatles have been my favorite band since I was 5 years old! Cheers!
