Cody Leach: 'I hope I never have to talk about Freddy's dead again'
Also Cody Leach: "Welcome tp my Horror Classic Tier list where I'll also do the sequels later on" *includes Nightmare on Elm Street*
That movie haunts him lmao. It just follows him everywhere.
@@HEYitzED almost like a nightmare
This is actually such a cool idea!
The original Wrong Turn is one of my absolute favorites. I have always thought the scene when they’re first hiding from the cannibals in the cabin is so incredibly intense.
Well, the 1st "Wrong Turn" is really good, but the rest of the franchise didn't live up to the original. The 2nd one has some stuff in it that's worth looking at and is just okay, but it doesn't have the rewatch value that the original one has. And that crappy remake or whatever the hell it was sucked so freaking bad.
@@fromtexas2734 you just described the majority of horror franchises
@@fromtexas2734 WT 2 & 1st are rewatchable
Completely agree in fact I like all of them except for the new one. Of course they gradually get worse and worse but for what they are they’re fucking Great!
Much better than the rest.

No amityville horror?
I absolutely love the original Texas Chain Saw Massacre. I view it as the perfect horror movie. It is so simple (almost to a fault) and the atmosphere is just so good.
@@kurglekreutzer6344 I thought it was alright whenever I first watched it. I think my expectations was too high. The second time I enjoyed it more. I hope one day I end up loving it because it feels so wrong to feel this way about such an iconic horror film!
Absolute masterpiece
i think it is an age thing, at the time it was a truly terrifying movies because we hadn't seen anything like that same with friday the 13 and halloween
That “they’re here” when you introduced Poltergeist sounded strangely beautiful
I don't know what it is about you, but I never get tired of listening you talk about movies. Great tier list ranking, can't wait to see more.
Would love to see a remake tier list that would interesting since you are the one of the biggest supporters of remakes
This was a great idea. Perfect. Once again Cody pulls out the best ideas for his channel
A Remake tier list would be awesome!
That is a great idea!
Looking forward to seeing where this fun little idea leads
Back at it again with the innovative and unique concepts my man...can't get enough of this new content you're producing as of late!
Thank you
I absolutely love the Saw franchise. It was a ritual for me and my friends to go see the new ones when they came out.
I’d love to see a tier list of horror movie cover arts!
Fight Night gotta go in S tier
3:34🤣🤣🤣 nothing beats Cody and Halloween content still !
Gotta take my shots at every opportunity. They made my life hell for two months so I'll have at least one middle finger up for life.
Man you’re really one of the most creative RUclipsrs. You have one in a kind ideas which keeps you very interesting.
I really appreciate all the hard work and creativity you put into your videos Cody. 🙏 Easily one of my favourite RUclipsrs.
Thank you
@@CodyLeachYT no no thank YOU 💜
Cody, the way how I found your channel was when I saw you Psycho review series (paticuraly when you reviewed the remake), and it was probably around October-December of 2021, and I’ve been hooked to your channel since, very happy to come across a film review channel like this, it really shaped the way how I approach criticism to film, and how to have great justification for otherwise controversial rankings (example: if I were to justify why I prefer The Lost World: Jurassic Park to the original, I’d just say “now those movies are pretty much the same for me, the reason I prefer Lost World to the original is because it has a little more story to it, and a little more higher stakes than the first one.”) now there is more reasoning as to why I may think that but if I did this comment would get way too long, otherwise have a great day & stay safe Cody.
Great video Cody! Can't wait to see the rest of the series!
great idea to do these Cody, I love your channel, I love hearing your opinion on just about everything
I started this series with the fourquels. It was great so I’m jumping back to this to watch them all in order. Keep up the great content!!!!
Evil Dead is my all-time favorite, it's what inspired me to pick up a camera and make a film with some buddies
Just binge a ton of you videos. One of my new favorite channels
Awesome. Thank you.
I love The Blair Witch Project. May be my favorite horror move of all time. It has a creepy atmosphere that still sticks with me today. I also never had a watching where I thought it was real. I also really have a strong problem with found footage films. Despite all of that, I still love BWP and consider it an icon as what type of horror I love. A creepy experience that unnerves you and breaks down your comfort zone while showing so little. I respect your opinion, however. Interesting and understandable placements overall. Might give Underworld a shot after this video. Haven't seen it in over 10 years.
I'm totally with you there. I typically hate found footage, but I love The Blair Witch Project!
I love it, too. One of my favorite found footage films. And I had the pleasure of seeing it on the big screen back in 1999 when it was released in theaters. I love the low budget aspect of it and the fact that I've always thought that the forest/woods is an incredibly scary place. And it leaves the scares up to your imagination. It makes you think. Was there really a witch or wasn't there? Or was it maybe just some evil serial killer person out in those woods that was stalking/hunting them?
@@fromtexas2734 I’ll never forget the first time watching it at home. The scene when they’re in the tent and you can hear the kids laughing outside really had me on edge!
I hate found footage, it's not scary but annoying and since that movie made it popular, can't do nothing but hating it for making me have a headache after they end
Cody, I loved this so much, I ended up watching this through last night and got up and watched it again today. I love what you're doing with the channel!
You're one of the VERY few that agrees with me that Evil Dead 1 > Evil Dead 2.
Evil Dead > The Evil Dead
Fr
I agree, and I love Evil Dead 2. I’ll still watch the OG over it.
You’re joking, right? Everyone ive ever asked prefers the original to the sequel.
@@roostermcscratch9060 not in my experience 🤷🏻♂️
Couldn’t agree more with The Lost Boys and Fright Night. I grew up with both of them and still rewatch both of them often. Fright Night for me is what made me the huge Roddy McDowall fan that I am. I still remember being absolutely crushed when he died in 1998. I was only 11 but I still vividly remember it.
I have the soundtracks to both Lost Boys and Fright Night. Just absolute classics that I can’t get enough of. I also really enjoyed the sequel as well. I grew up with the old VHS tape of it as well. Very underrated and still watch it often. I kinda love it as much as the first one honestly. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it.
Can’t say the same for the Lost Boys sequels unfortunately… though I give The Thirst credit for not being just a total retread of the original, unlike The Tribe.
Came across your channel when looking up a how to beat a boss in RE Revelations of all things lol but man I love this channel. All I can do is watch your back catalog nonstop. 🤘 Awesome videos man!
Very weird route to find me haha
@@CodyLeachYT Sure was but I'm glad it led me here
I just found him too and it's so great to have so much new (to me) content to explore and enjoy!
Cool idea, great video as always & love the fact that you're not using that S,B etc for ranking and is coming up with your own unique tiers.
I always enjoy watching your rankings!
Such a cool idea, excited to watch this one my friend. Appreciate the creativity!
Cody, I’m not sure why your channel doesn’t have more subs. You are my favorite RUclips/movie guy ever. I’ve been around a WHILE. Used to watch Jawoosh (one of the OG horror youtubers before RUclips became the thing we know today). I’m now a college graduate and working full time and love watching your videos on my drive to work. Couldn’t agree more about your opinion on Jeepers creepers. Such an amazing movie “lightning in a bottle” type film IMO. It’s a shame the lore of the creeper/that universe hasn’t been explored well in the following sequels, even though I do find the 2nd one to be still a worthy sequel. Keep doing your thing Cody! 🔥🔥
Excellent idea. Can’t wait for the rest of the series. At the age of 12 me and my 9 year old brother went to to see Fright Night in a 42nd street grindhouse theater. We were terrified. One of my all time favorites
Looking forward to the next tier lists on this topic! Should get pretty interesting with the ups and major downs when it comes to sequels!
Love, Love, Love this!!! Great films, great idea, totally agree with you on almost all of these. From now on, any guy I date will be given this list and asked to play a game. 😂 I’m not kidding. Keep making awesome content, Cody ❤️
You ranked Jeepers Creepers above Alien. Really dude? Really?
*Checks video*
Yeah
He ranked Phantasm over scream 😂
Awesome idea for a series. I look forward to seeing how the sequels tier lists play out
It always cracks me up to hear you rip on Carey Elwes’ performance in Saw 🤣
Soooo bad
Nice! Looking forward to this series! I think a fun tier for the sequel list would be “Cash grab”
Wow, blair witch as the lowest? For me personally, I just love how much this movie leaves the scares up to your imagination. I watch this movie at least once a year. Totally understand the people that dislike it, but personally I love the blair witch.
I love it
I don’t like it at all, but that’s the beauty of having an opinion. I’m just not a fan of shaky cam and this movie wasn’t scary at all for me
I love Blair Witch too. It's right up top on literally every other horror tier list on the internet but it seems Cody just doesn't like found footage which is fair enough. You would think though that a movie that singlehandedly kick-started an entire genre would be considered important and recognised as such on any tier list but hey it's his list that's how these things work.
i agree with Cody, it's an overated piss of sh*t
i watched this for the first time a few years ago. i was so excited my mom hyped it up so much, so when it started getting scary, my jaw dropped when the camera cut and the movie ended. my mom and i looked at each other in confusion, like where were the scares? it must have been scarier to someone that watched it when it came out, and she was remembering it better than it turned out to be
What a great idea, been waiting for this video to drop for days, thank you. Agree with your top tier, I would have added a few more though, Alien, Hellraiser, Evil Dead and Scream. Can't wait for the next video. Glad you're ok, cos I was starting to worry not seeing any content dropping for 4 days 😊 Just shows how much I've got used to watching you so regularly. As always keep up the good work and thanks for all the effort you put in to making these videos 💜💙💚💛🧡❤️
really loving these tier list ideas man, right on!
the ones i’ve seen:
•Horror Classics - Halloween, Predator, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Scream, Saw, Child’s Play, Insidious, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Blade
•Bloody Good Time - Friday the 13th, Evil Dead, Final Destination, Alien, Hellraiser, The Conjuring, Psycho, Candyman, Jaws
•Kills Two Hours - The Exorcist, The Purge, The Blair Witch Project, Paranormal Activity
Definitely agree with your lower two tiers.
Awesome video idea, Can’t wait for this series! Definitely should do one for Vampire movies as well
I'm so glad Poltergeist went to top tier. This movie is honestly a comfort movie for me as odd as that sounds. It's good horror, good drama, good comedy, and good fantasy. I just love it.
That's not odd. All horror movies are a comfort for me, but Poltergeist is very family friendly in the mix of horror/humour like Gremlins or E.T.
I think that’s how it is for a lot of people
Loving this series. Also like myself he's unapologetic about nostalgia affecting his rankings. Looking forward to more of these! Also Jeepers Creepers was like the only horror movie that ever scared me as a kid. (Although ...I guess now we know why)
i love how blunt and explicit you are, definitely my favorite youtuber now😂😂😂
You always talk about the yelling of the first Texas chainsaw massacre but in my opinion part 2 is UNWATCHABLE. I needed two Tylenols after hearing stretch yell (only saw it once) idk how you like that one lol
I go back and forth on the 3rd act of that one. I don't disagree with you.
0:00 Intro
1:29 Paranormal Activity (2007)
1:56 Psycho (1960)
2:34 The Purge (2013)
3:10 A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)
3:36 Halloween (1978)
4:17 Jaws (1975)
4:48 The Exorcist (1973)
5:38 Scream (1996)
Great idea for a vide series, I'll be looking out for the rest of these.
I would also love to see you rank horror comedies. Or maybe discuss the best metal or rock bands that use horror films/horror imagery in their music.
Yessss another tier list! Been enjoying these videos so much dude!
Alien and Exorcist outside of Horror Classic is an insult to everyone everywhere
I loved this list can't wait to see more.
Love this type of Tier list, Cody!
The fact that nothing hit your Slow Death is amazing. This will probably be the only tier list that is granted that award because all the franchise start hitting their stinkers. Exorcist 2...coming right up, haha.
You saw the future 😂
Great review Cody. We would love to see you do a vampire movie countdown, that would be interesting to watch 🧛🏻
The fact that you included Lost Boys allows me to compromise on Blair Witch. I was 1 of those people who saw it in theaters late night by myself and had to go home with the dark. Lost Boys was a perfect blend of horror and subtle comedy.
I love this idea man! Can’t wait for part 2,3,4,5 etc.
Bro you’re going to be at 100k by the end of the year. Easy. Keep grinding 🤙🏼
Hi! I watched Fright Night right now after watching this and it was amazing! It’s now one of the only 7 horror movies I’ve watched that I rate a 5/5⭐️
Hell yeah
What are the other 6?
@@fire32468 now its 11 but:
11. The Faculty (1998)
10. Return of the Living Dead (1985)
9. Fright Night (1985)
8. Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)
7. NOES: Dream Warriors (1987)
6. Poltergeist (1982)
5. Silence of the Lambs (1992)
4. X (2022)
3. The Thing (1982)
2. The Lost Boys (1987)
1. Scream (1996)
Thats the list!
@@pugz-official6090 Haven't seen numbers 11, 10, 9, 4, or 2. Definitely adding them to my watchlist!
@@fire32468 id say if you want super gory, then 10 or 4, if you want a good amount of gore then watch 9, if you want more of a good movie that doesn’t rely so much on blood/gore, then 11 and 2 for sure
Watched Blair Witch in the theater in 99. I thought it was stupid but the friend I was with was terrified 😂. I think BW is one of those movies that works for you or it doesn’t. No middle ground.
You put out the best vids man. Looking forward to more of these type
Cody, gotta say, i can’t wait for 6th movie ranking when you get to talk about freddys dead :)
As a huge Halloween fan, loved the pun about the fan base cause it is BEYOND true
If you're reading this comment at home, don't forget to feed your pets.
Seriously? If anybody needs a comment to remind them to keep something alive, don't have kids or animals.

Just did.
Genius idea !!. Love this, love your tiers as well, very original :)
Great video and I'm looking forward to the rest! I do have to say personally I believe TCM 1974 does hold up well. I actually just watched it for the first time ever a couple months ago and it absolutely got under my skin even in 2022 watching it on my phone on Amazon lol. It really does everything right to me. And I'm glad to see Poltergeist get so much love from more people these days!
Hellraier is one of the few horror movies that you find more and more scary over the years as you grow older. It has a deep phychological aspect to it, and Julia played by Clare Higgins is one of the best characters on the genre.
HellraiSer, not Hellraier.
@@jamiethal1319 dude, I'm having problems with "S" on my computer. "E" as well. And "F" too... 😅
@@kinda4664 Seems to be working perfectly fine, you spelled all the other words correctly. Including in your response just now. Can’t be much of a problem. Plus there is such a thing as spellcheck. I have no bones to pick with the actual comment, as I agree it’s quite scary. I just watched it for the first time this year. Saw the remake as well.
@@jamiethal1319 I'm telling you, the keys are responding 3 times out of 10. And if you push them harder you will get doubles and tripples, like hellraiseer (see, the double ee?). I have to check the spelling all the time. And even then I can miss something, so...
Yea, I'm not going to watch the remake. I am sure it's a waste of time. The original movie is good tho. One of the best in the genre.
This is very cool. Excited for more. Glad to find another Fright Night fanatic. The rest of the franchise is shaky at best.
Awesome tier list man.. I always agree 100% with your rankings.. your spot on!
Sometimes i feel my head will be overloaded and explode from your bizarre takes but its good to remember youre a different person and everyone is looking for something different in a film. Like texas chainsaw is my fave slasher.
Look, I watched The Blair Witch Project when it first came out in theaters and I didn't find it scary in the least. So I don't think you missed anything. I hated and still hate that film.
Almost 7 minutes in and I agree with everything 100 percent. Sometimes our opinions are polar opposites ( which is a great thing/ opinions shouldn't match all the time ) but I didn't know we agreed on originals to this extent 🤣 keep up the great work Cody!
I love your idea of mixing the franchises in these tier lists, and I understand that you didnt wanted to keep doing this lists with franchises that you already ranked before, but given that you made a tier list of Friday 13th and Elm Street, I would love to see just one video making a tier list of the Halloween franchise to finish the big three slashers. I hope you do it later
can’t wait to see this!!
a few series Id like to see added next time: Jurassic Park movies, Grudge and Ring movies, and Lake Placid series 😌
Killing it as always, I prefer the green screen background tho!
I do as well but these lists are meant to be more casual and less produced.
The Blair witch project is overrated..
I don’t like it either
Enjoyed the video and liked the listing can't argue with it. Can't wait to see more.
Always happy to find new movies to watch through your channel. Somehow I've never seen Poltergeist, but this video made me want to change that
Nice! Can't wait for the others; great idea once again.
Love your tier list ranking videos👍👍
This was cool Cody. Can't wait to see the next one
Glad you did something a little different with the tier list. I certainly consider it a success.
Love your channel and all your videos !!!
Hi Cody. New subscriber! I had to after you put The Lost Boys, Candyman and Poltergeist on your top tier of your list. Not only that but I completely agree on Saw and Texas Chainsaw. They are just not re-watchable films for me. I have to say I disagree with Blair Witch because I live in the Maryland area quite close to some of the filming locations so it holds a special place for me lol. Also I love Friday the 13th, yes the original. I was like 10 or 11 when I first watched it and a girl scout and spent a few summers at camp so that movie traumatized me and sometimes I like to be re-traumatized haha.
Looking forward to checking out the rest of your lists:)
You make some of the best horror content on RUclips keep it up man
Awesome idea. It'll be interesting to see the evolution of these tier lists as the series goes along. Naturally this one is top heavy with Classics and Bloody Good Times. But I'm sure it'll start circling the toilet in Painfuls and Slow Deaths pretty quickly. Exorcist II is guaranteed Slow Death in round 2, and Blade 2 and Aliens might be the only Classics.
Bloody good times will definitely ve Halloween 2, Friday the 13th 2, fright night 2,
Classic: also child's play 2
And slow death: also book of Shadows
Brother I love your videos. Thank you for helping subdue my anxiety attack
Great list..great idea..you have me excited to see your thoughts next time with fright night part 2. Cannot find that movie anywhere except on youtube. Love that movie to death
Great idea. Looking forward to the next!!!!
I enjoy these video's and I can't wait to see more of them.
Great video! I find myself to be that one person who does rank the first f13 in my top 3. I just love the performances of the actors, I always thought the camera work of it was cool even though i knew it a Halloween rip off🤣 the low budget made it more surreal like texas chainsaw
Not the only one who loves the original Friday. I love how you don't know who the killer is and very creepy atmosphere of it.
The "Fourquel" video showed up in my recommends and as soon as I saw the concept I HAD to find "part 1". Great idea to use this format.
Glad you enjoy it
love this series idea! definitely make more
What an awesome video and video series concept. Unfortunately i have not had a lot of time for RUclips lately so I’m a little late on some videos but I’m catching up on all your content now. I cannot wait to see this series of videos. One that i usually get flack for is Poltergeist. I really don’t like the movie. Its funny because at one point in my life i did like it, but over time i have grown to not like it. i just get so incredibly bored watching it and its actually pretty hard for me to get bored. I respect it. I know its an unpopular opinion, but i literally will most likely never watch it again. Have not seen it at this point in at least three to four years. I do love the entire Wrong Turn franchise though. You love to hear it right? Just kidding. I really do love it though. Awesome video Cody. Really love all your content. You should also for sure do a Vampire ranking list. Im a Werewolf guy myself but i do love me some good Vampires too.
I love tier list and I think a tier list of horror remakes would be awesome, Im excited
Oh since you did this ranking can you do a versus series? Maybe themed original vs remake where you compare based on certain criteria such as the gore factor etc? Just a suggestion. Love your videos!
Hell yeah Can't Wait For The Other Lists
We have very similar choice in horror classic Cody, great tier choices.
