Sidney Prescott will always be my favorite, she has great character development amongst most of the Scream films and Neve Campbell is great. Nacy Thompson is a close second.

Kirsty Cotton is my absolute favorite final girl. She’s entirely focused on self-preservation. She also has to fight off otherworldly demons, her perverted creepy uncle and her evil step mom in the first film and does it in such an intelligent way.
I like how she doesn’t make all the cliche stupid decisions that they usually make. Like Laurie Strode dropping the knife and turning her back to Michael every time.
@@danfarmer3019 For real. And I love Laurie Strode because of what H20 and Halloween 2018 did for her character but the way she drops the weapon like six times in the original movie is infuriating.

I love how she always manages to manipulate or negotiate her way out of trouble. It's also bad ass the way she tried to go to hell to save her father in the sequel, even if she was being tricked.
I understand the take on Sally Hardesty, but I always found Marilyn Burn's committed and terrified performance to be one of the most realistic aspects of the movie. Yea she is screaming her head off, but I think it is very convincing at least. I would definitely say she would be either Survivor or Got Lucky, because the girl definitely has some endurance.
The awesome Sally hardesty is my favourite non matter the category. Not only does she survive the most horrifying of circumstances but she's the most realistic, no Hollywood revenge just run like hell and do what you need to get away.

Love your content. In my own opinion Erin is bonafide scream queen. Love the "I'm not trapped in here with you, you're trapped in here with me" energy. I mean she's almost also a slasher. She's so competent and bad ass she would work as a villain or a jilted vengeful lover. I love this character dude, my all time favorite.
Loved the list cody. Nancy Thompson will always be my favorite final girl ever, she's smart, fearless and not to bad on the eyes either.

Favorite final girl is...hands down Nancy Thompson. No one else even touches her. But if there's a runner-up, she's not even on the list, it's Kristen Parker from "Nightmare on Elm St. pt. 3; Dream Warriors". I feel like it's not even fair to compare anyone else. I think she was one of the 1st "final girls" who utilized her intelligence more than anything else. Don't get me wrong, she was a beast too, but her strength was her intelligence. Maybe I'm a tiny bit bias because that's my fave horror franchise w/my fave horror monster (Freddy). I was only 6 when it came out, & that's when I saw it. That began my love for horror...& it scared the s**t outta me. But Nancy was my personal hero lol
I think Kyle from Child's Play 2 should have been part of the list. She's awesome. The first time I watched the film I thought she was gonna be extremely annoying but totally wins me over halfway through the film. She takes action to save Andy and prove to be a tough as nails protector. I would have put her in Bad B*tch! Great list other than that!

Yeah Kyle is such a great character, she's badass but not a bitch, understanding and caring of Andy without being condescending and overall is just an interesting character.
I can't say she's all that interesting these days in her TV show appearances, wish she did more. But still doesn't change how great she is in Child's Play 2.

I love rewatching Alien bc Ripley was RIGHT! She said don’t let Kane back on the ship, and got slapped for it, but she was right! And look what happened. If they had listened to her from the get, Alien would’ve ended right there lol
Helen is absolutely a final girl. She solved the mystery and banished Candyman forever, she just died in the process. She would’ve survived had she escaped the bonfire sooner. It wasn’t stupidity that killed her.

She's makes numerous bad decisions that get and keep her and her friends in a horrendous situation. To not be smart enough to get tf outta town is dumber than fuck. Other than being hot she's brings nothing to the table
Tree is actually my second favorite final girl, but I do kind of get why he would put her in "Survivor." She starts off pretty ditzy and is quite literally the character who died the most on this list. To her credit, she does get progressively better through trial and error, and experience, but it takes some time for her to get there. Personally she's one of my favorites more for her likable screen presence and character development, but I can see his argument that there are more naturally tougher final girls than her on this list. As for Erin, I think she belongs exactly as she was ranked. She's one of the toughest girls on the list, but she's pretty underwritten compared to the other characters in the Scream Queen rank. Her most defining trait is that she's tough and resourceful, but there's not much else in terms of development and depth, which does hold her back from being as iconic as the other characters in my opinion.

Ellen Ripley is for sure my favorite final girl, followed closely by Sarah Connor and Sidney Prescott. But those characters are big parts of some of my all time favorite films, so I like that you brought up disliking/liking a movie gives you an added frame of context to these characters.
What I liked about Jessica Biel's character in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake was she was interested in doing the right thing but she just did it so dumb that everybody died, which is the part I don't like...
Came here to see where you put Nancy and my stress is gone. NANCY FOREVER. She straight up started out strong. Totally built traps and did the coolest things then dedicated her life to saving kids like her. She is the best and baddest! Then comes Sidney and Kirsty Cotton. ❤
I just disagree with Samara Weaving. She threw boiling water on the butler's face, clocked a child and bashed the mother's head in! All after being put through literal hell. Bad bitch all the way.

❤ this ranking list. I think the only semi redeeming thing about the thief in Don’t Breathe is that she needs money to get her little sister (and herself) away from their terrible mom/home situation (if I remember the beginning right). She’s still a terrible person but I think the writers gave her the little sister so the audience would not think she’s a complete selfish piece of crap. She’s still wrong but she has a reason sort of.
She is pushed into a corner and giving a character that type of depth is bold. That's like arkan or whatever from the collector.
To me trish jarvis is a underrated final girl overshadowed by Tommy but was one of the best final girls of the Friday the 13th franchise on her own

Sarah Connor is the ultimate final girl character to me and it’s not close. I like Laurie Strode but in my opinion she just survives in Halloween. Nancy of Nightmare on Elm Street is strong/bad b*tch but she didn’t do anything to Freddie according to the end of the first movie. Ripley killed the Alien and a great final girl also but Ash could’ve killed her, she couldn’t save herself from him/it.
What about the def chick from hush. She’s %100 in bad bitch at least. She tried everything from the very beginning to either keep the killer out or to take it to him.
If I ever have a daughter, I'd like to name her after Sidney Prescott. Or O-Ren Ishii. 😊

32:17 I hate Halloween II. However, Scout can act her ass off. She should be in more movies. As Laurie, I think she did a great job in the first one and good in the second one considering the shit show it was. The way 1 ended was badass and made Laurie have an edge I liked mixed with a child like vulnerability because she was absolutely traumatized after doing what she had to do.
Love the list, but I was surprised you didn’t add Iris from Would You Rather. The way it ends, maybe being the final girl isn’t always the best thing. 😂

I always have a lot of fun watching you do these tier videos mate! My personal favourite final girl will always be Sidney Prescott.
Couple more mentions that I'd add to Bad Bitch tier:
- Alice (Resident Evil 2002)
The Paul Anderson franchise is a mess and hardly respects its source material at all. But the first film was probably the best entry and where Alice was at her best. She had at a decent blend of victim and badass.
- Barbara (Night of the Living Dead 1990)
Not much to say here, Patricia Tallmans version of this character is far better than the original. She starts off a victim and later just kicks ass alongside Candyman! lol
Halloween 78 is my favorite horror movie but I was never a big Laurie fan and I liked Rachel from H4 more. I think Ginny from Friday the 13th part 2 was great and her legacy would've been bigger if she came back for part 3 but Amy had no interest at that time. Kristy from Hellraiser is criminally underrated and Ashley back in the day had a GREAT A@@ to quote Al Pacino from Heat.
Gunny is only so so. IMO.
I agree 100%. Halloween is my favorite horror film, but Rachel is my fave from the series. I put Laurie on the same level as Kara from “Curse”. They are down to earth and give fine performances, but just lack that extra charisma factor of Nancy Thompson, Ginny, Kristy and (the woefully underrated) Megan from Friday 6, among many others.
It’s kind of sad that you have to make it a point to say that this list is your opinion. Some people take these things too seriously.
I could state it every 5 minutes and leave a banner running the entire video and someone would still miss it.

This instantly caught my attention and I’m enjoying watching it. I think Laurie Strode, as you stated, is THE quintessential “final girl”. Laurie Strode walked so that Sidney Prescott could run IMO. Nancy Thompson is my all-time fave because NOES is my favorite franchise. Rooney Mara as Nancy was a complete shit show! I hated the movie and hated her in it. What made it worse is she played Nancy as this “slacker”. LMAO, Adelaide is most def the villain of “US”. I love anything Lupita N’Yongo does so I’m biased. Love the vid.👌🏾

Sidney Presscot is easily a scream queen for me, I love her and she has some sick lines such as: “Don’t F-- with the original.” And “Not in my movie.”
This was such a fun video! I grew up in the '80s and Nightmare on Elm Street was my favorite horror film next to The Lost Boys. Nancy is hands down my favorite. The way she faced Freddy throughout the entire movie in her dreams and then brought him into the real world to fight him with all of her booby traps. She kicked ass!

I’ve been waiting for this kind of a ranking list and Final Girls has to be one of the most subjective and debated topics throughout the entire horror genre of any and all films regardless who was the final girl or when these movies were first theatrically released. I always considered Sarah Connor, Lt. Ellen Ripley, Nancy Thompson (Nightmare On Elm Street and Dream Warriors) and Laurie Strode to be bona fide true definitions of Scream Queens in their perspective franchises. I hate that Mara Rooney pulled a Rachel Zegler and didn’t really care about her character in the NOES 2010 reboot/remake. I lost a lot of respect for her as a result of that kind of attitude and behavior but hey celebrity and Hollywood am i right!? Anyway, the only other horror final girl i thought would at least border between Scream Queen and Bad Bitch would be Ginny Field from Friday The 13th Part 2 if only because of her sex appeal for 1981, her use of the chainsaw to fight off Jason, and of course her attempt some kind of psychological mind game to get inside of his head by domineering and forcing him to obey her every command as he saw Ginny as his mother Pamela Vorhees only for her to stab him through his shoulder with a pickax. Ginny is definitely a top tier Survivor in my personal opinion. Overall i love this and agree with 90% of this ranking. This is by far my favorite ranking list and i can’t wait to see the next one Cody! 👍🏻🪓🔪🩸⚰️💀☠️

I personally always really liked Clear Rivers, but I definitely do get your criticism of her as not the most capable or stand-out as a character.
A note about her presence in the sequel instead of Sawa's character Alex--the series creator Jeffrey Reddick said in an interview that originally both Sawa and Larter were supposed to return in the second film, and that Sawa actually was even supposed to survive the second film and continue his role as the main character. But Sawa ultimately could not due to "scheduling and stuff." No confirmation on what "stuff" is but there was a rumor going around at the time that they were cutting Sawa's pay. He tried to fight it, they wouldn't give in and then retaliated by killing off his character in an anti-climactic way.
Alice from Dream Master is one of my favorites aside from the obvious greats. A shy, neglected, and abused girl rises to the occasion and finds her inner strength though the literal powers of her friends. It’s wholesome!
She’s also one of my favorite. On Dream Child she could of easily solve her problem by aborting her unborn child but instead she risked both her life and sanity from Freddy Krueger.
Make it an island of two because I love Dark Fate. I think that films is really underrated.
I personally disagree with Jessica Beale’s ranking. I thought she was a great final girl and her taking that child at the end was pretty cool!! That’s my personal opinion.
Also I think the director was trying to make the audience feel Sally’s madness in Texas Chainsaw. Also she jumped out two windows so I would put her in survivor in my opinion
I AGREE WITH THE ORIGINAL TERMINATOR MOVIE IS A HORROR FILM! The scene where he is in the bathroom taking care of his wounds and him asking the one lady if she was Sarah Connor and she says yes and he bursts through the door and guns her down brutally scared me so much when I was around 5 or 7. Looking back I probably should’ve not watched that or Cyborg,Friday the thirteenth,nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween and etc… lol Anyways everyone have a BLESSED DAY.

I’m with you 100% on needing a you’re next sequel. Just finally watched it within the last year and it’s one of my favorite horrors just for how badass she is and it’s is by far my wife’s favorite. My wife doesn’t even like horror movies but this got her into watching horror movies with me.
Ripley is the GOAT! Followed closely by Sarah Connor. Nobody gets close to these two badasses.
Great list, bro. Love your channel. Ripely and Sarah Conner have always competed for my top 2 final girls, but Ripley always wins out for me. I think has more character moments that really flesh out her character and give her depth. Especially in Aliens.

Have to agree with Cody about Dark Fate. Don’t understand the hate. Don’t agree about Freddys Dead. Love that movie. The two boys in Don’t Breathe weren’t so innocent, though Alex was more so than Money. Rocky wasn’t the one who came up with that plan - Money was. The blind guy was pretty repulsive - he was holding a woman hostage and forced her to get pregnant. Granted she killed his daughter and was acquitted, but still. The one thing Rocky had going for her was the love she had for her younger sister and wanting to save her from their abusive home life. No one was truly “ innocent “ in that movie except for the little sister. I could write a whole thing about that movie.

I was surprised to not see Barbara on here from Night of the Living Dead (1990). She's also a final girl I love who went from screaming at everything to becoming a force to be reckoned with by the end of the movie

I think another thing that hurt Alice in Friday was that she was just killed off in the opening of part 2. I know everything was because she had a real life stalker that wasn’t cool and ended her character in the series

Probably not eligible due to it not being a franchise or considered more as a thriller than a horror, but I would recommend Lisa (Rachel McAdams) from Red Eye (Wes Craven directed) as being at least a bad bitch.
Spoiler alert: That whole movie for me is the hilarity of Cillian Murphy (an actor I love) playing a villain who gets absolutely fucking dunked on and destroyed by Rachel McAdams (an actor I don’t even like) pretty much the whole film. At the beginning you see him as this clever, manipulative, menacing psycho with the Scarecrow vibes and you’re like “Oh shit, she’s in trouble” to the end where you’re like “Man.. this poor bastard picked the wrong girl to run this game on..”
So she’s like the most final girl in a not final girl movie. Check it out if you haven’t.

Sarah Connor will ALWAYS be my #1 and one of my first heroes / role models. Followed closely by Sidney Prescott. I do love Erin from You're Next, but I feel like she needs another movie or two just to cement her place.
I agree so much with most of this!! Gunny, imo, was the best Friday final girl. TCM remake was one of my favorites, but I did perfer her fiancee tbh. Alice in Dream Master tbh would be lower. Jamie is my 2nd favorite. She is a CHILD who lived against Michael Myers!! Trish would be top tier. I liked that Freddy had a daughter tbh but that movie.. not it. Scream 3 was her movie and everyone else just lived in it. Lol. But I agree. If it weren't for Courtney I think she would have been killed off a lot faster. Syd is my favorite final girl. I love her. Sam would be in bad bitxh for me. Tbh TC3 3D is one of my favorites because of the storyline between it and Leatherface(my favorite of the franchise), but the acting and writing were subpar!

Just curious where would you put Nancy from The Shallows, played by Blake Lively. I feel like I'd put her in bad bitch because despite being stuck on a rock for most of the film her performance really holds the movie together and I really like her survival skills and how she decides to fight back the shark

That might be because of how both the Hannibal book and film treat her. In the book she gets brainwashed into loving Lecter and Thomas Harris portrays it as romantic. And Julianne Moore didn't do a good job replacing Jodie Foster as Clarice in the Hannibal film.
Totally agree with the placement of Rooney Mara's Nancy, but from what I remember, it was a movie she was obligated contractually to do. I can't remember exactly what all the details were, but it was basically a film she had to do just cause she was in another film. Makes no sense, but who knows. She didn't want to be in the movie and it definitely shows.
