I had the luck and the honor of training with him. he was 15 years old, I many years older. we did a lot of clinch sessions where I was devastated. @shihui444 3 года назад +10

      @@LawrenceKenshin I thought it would be a fantastic contrast to Yodwicha. Whereas Yodwicha has gone down the kickboxing route (Petch, Sittichai), Sangmanee continues to fight high level Thais (Capitan, Kulabdam) in muay thai. Sangmanee also had that poisoning incident which could also shed some light about the betting scene in stadium muay thai and links to one of your earlier videos about Saenchai talking about the state of muay thai in Thailand and the influence of gamblers which has shifted the focus to clinch-heavy fights nowadays.
      Finally, this could tie in with why he is even nicknamed "Tharok Nung Laann" or "Million Dollar Baby".

    To all the Muay Thai and MMA gods and every god on the planet. Please PLEASE let Yod come to the UFC! So many of us have wanted a Lumpinee stadium champ to come to the UFC. It would bring two sides of the planet together. I feel like so many viewers from both sides would open the world up.
    We have some good strikers here. Some good Muay Thai even. But to have a true Lumpinee stadium fighter would be amazing. The entire division would have to up their striking. If he learned a few good escapes he would be so dangerous. Muay Thai fighters are so ahead of the game on take down defense and balance. It doesn’t take much to teach them the difference.
    Both sides would benefit so much by having a fighter like Yod here.

    Any talk of mma for him? At such a young age incorporating the other arts could very well make him a UFC champ.

    How does this system work? Are the results of fights predetermined? Are results influenced by betting?

    I'm curious now, him vs Nasukawa, who do you have taking it, Lawrence?

      muay thai, yodwicha easy. kickboxing, thats a tough call. i favor nasukawa in that one

    • @de20
      @de20 3 года назад +3

      @@LawrenceKenshin i see yodwicha using a lot of elbows to break through his opponents' guards and disorienting them, kickboxing definitely wouldn't favor him

    You don’t just easily transition into MMA if you’ve never wrestled or done jits once in your life. That’s not how it works. You can be the greatest striker ever and would get taken down in a second by top level UFC pros. That’s why we’ve never seen 1 top level Thai transition into the UFC. It’s just a different animal.

      Hahaha That is absolutely adorable if that is what you think. MMA fans are so gullible plus uneducated when comes to combat sports actually amusing to see MMA fans think freestyle wrestling/bjj will save you from a Nak Muay. If there was a word to define something more then adorable... then that word would perfectly describe MMA fans.
