Tom Morello, as a member of Rage Against The Machine, Audioslave, and in his solo work, has long harnessed the expressive power of the Cry Baby Wah as an integral part of his sound, propelling the voice of the unheard above the raucous groove of drums and bass. Express your own vision in solidarity with one of music's great freedom fighters with the Tom Morello Cry Baby Wah. It features the aggressive, modern sound of the GCB95-the exact pedal Tom has used on every album and every tour throughout his career-with a custom finish bearing quotations chosen by Tom himself to highlight the battle for justice that he's dedicated his craft and career to.
A classic cry baby with Tom Morello's art on it.
You mean a simple commie theme?
@bootlegapples 100%. Nothing special at all asides from the communist paint job and the Lenin quote.
So, it's just red...
No...(with letters)
And a star
@Gedankenverbrecher ratms logo has always had a star on it
@@OwenMiller-ge5lo eh, let the fools rule the village. Happy to see some sense around though.
@Gedankenverbrecher Objectively, it's just a star, dude. the US flag has 50 of them. is that, like, EXTRA communist?

My guitar
My wah-wah pedal?
OURS
Haha, nailed it!
I bet Tom Morello changes Toggle Switches more than I change strings 🤷🏽♂️🤪
He must go through toggle switches faster than Carter goes through liver pills.
I’d love to hear from him how this is different than your average wah.
Sounds like a missed opportunity. If Dunlop reached me for a signature pedal I would ask for cool things for it to have, not just "copy the classic wah and sell it in red".
Funny how Tommy the commie is so anti capitalism, but he has his own signature pedal out now that is nothing special except for its quote from a communist dictator (Lenin) and the red star and paintjob. Liberal hypocrisy at its finest.
Commies have never been too creative or intelligent, so it’s par for the course.
so if he was just using a standard crybaby, how is this one different? besides the color
There are different revisions of GCB95 and Tom had (I suppose) late 80's one, despite that he mentioned in Guitar World 2006 Dec video lesson "early 80's". So, it means - different components inside, like different inductor, caps which all make his sound unique. And don't forget the fact that he had mutliple wahs, but settled only on one, that gave him his signature midrange sweep.
It has commie superpowers.
not lol
This one has a bunch of royalty money that goes to this "communist."
For those saying its just a standard cry baby it's not. I've A/B them and Tom's has a higher frequency that really shows on distortion. Can you use a standard, sure. You can use any wah. But as with any music gear it's a case of getting an approximate tone or getting THE tone. Choice is up to you
So it's a standard crybaby that you just pay more for? I'd rather paint my own. Surely this is the antithesis of what Tom stands for!
Nah
Just so y'all know, to get his wah sound, you gotta run it through the effects loop
Explain....I have an original crybaby myself.
@@rockerangusyoung623 He doesn't run his wah pedal in front of the amp it's in the effects loop. He's basically running the preamp into the wah (as well as the rest of the board) and all of that goes into the poweramp.
@@davidjameschamberlain really???
I’m going to try that and see how it goes!!!
@@XxStonedImmaculatexX it's like putting a wah after a distortion pedal into a clean amp. It's basically filtering everything before the poweramp
Even though this is a classic wah model with Tom's designs, I still really want it, and I will definitely get it soon
This is literally the definition of selling out. Selling you the same shit for more because it's red.
Tom’s so cool wearing shades inside... he won’t take those shades off until we have equality for all..
I LOVE IT
Just ordered this! I was 17 18 years old when rage blew up!
I went down a rabbit hole trying to get Toms wah sound like 15 years ago and my conclusion was that the easy way to recreate it is to run a distortion pedal in front of a wah.. Since he doesn't use any sort of drive pedal his unique wah sound (assuming the circuitry is truly stock) must be a result of the unique harmonic structure of his amp.
2:51 ah yes playing with a lead
Fantastic!! Would love to have it!!
Tom always nice to hear from you, Love to watch many Dunlop cry baby videos but love this one the pure simple tool with soul power( not guitar) but your i always enjoy to play like a stone guitar solo never forget no metter after how long time i play, thanks for teaching me the use of whammy pedal although I don't have one still somehow manage on Zoom G1xon,stay blessed, well is it possible to get one of your Cry Baby wah and DigiTech wammy pedal, stay blessed 🍀
Notice how he didn’t talk about the pedal, but rather his technique? The wah is nothing special at all. Sold out not to rage against the machine, but to become the machine
Finally
What’s the quote in the background about the path walked?
I like his sound and capitalism.
Well now we know who in Rage sold out!
There are so much comments hating the pedal because is the original cry baby but with Tom Morello words and red, but idk whats the problem, the price its much than a normal gcb95, that is the unique problem, but to Tom doesn't matter to have the same sound because it is his sound, so, I want the pedal
Literally this. I can't help but laugh at the autistic screeching that his *signature* pedal is worth more than a regular wah pedal. That's kind of the point of signature pedals lol. Most of the time their sound isn't really what sells, it's just the fancy paint and logo, and Tom is literally upfront and says this in the video. If you're a diehard Tom Morello fan (like I am) then you'll buy this. If you're not, you probably won't buy it. It's so simple.
Socialist message in a $$$ capitalist pedal 👏👏👏👏👏👏
i HAVE IT !!!!!
Very Satchy, love it a lot, looks EVIL
Tom Morello! Wha, wha, check check, check, Wha, wha, wha! Perfect!
On the side of the Pedal it says - you dont need a weapon , you were born one .
🎶🔥🎸🔥🎶
£135 Morello vs £79 GCB95 ... ?
As much as Tom has influenced me as a guitarist, I'll stick with my 105Q Bass CryBaby I bought for $80 used once. Tom's CryBaby is the same as the GCB95, with a fresh coat of paint on it. Plus, I loved how the Bass CryBaby sounds on guitar; it's more massive than the GCB95.
AWESOME!!!😁🎈😁🎈😁🎈😁🎈😁🎈😁🎈😁🎈😁🎈
If I remember correctly, Toms crybaby has a unique voice than the typical wah. There is a limited sweep and is very mid range focused. I believe he’s talked about it in the past but he didn’t really relay that here.
To get his wah sound, you need to run it through your amp's effects loop.
So it's basically the cheap old GCB-95 with a cooler paint job.
💪💪
Im not interested in his politics, but he’s a very interesting and unique guitarist. What is unique about this pedal other than a paint job and graphics? I’d love to know.
The fact that you felt the need mention his politics is super weird.
@@JohannesLabusch maybe because it has a huge communist star on it or the fact that he’s not shy about his politics at all...
@@Kcutthth So there's that famous non-interest in his politics you mentioned earlier ... (-:
@@JohannesLabusch no not famous at all but thank you for the insinuation. I’m just merely replying to your comment. You obviously don’t have an intelligent answer for my explanation so you’re resorting to what your type always falls back onto: self righteousness. Have fun with that.
@@Kcutthth "Your type"? Like ... EVIL PINKO COMMIES??? Yeah, we're super scary, I get it.
... all through the past, I thought that sound came from the WHAMMY 1?
The _Killing in the Name_ solo sure did!
I wonder any internal switches 🤔
Nope
Damn why is everyone hating on him
Because he deserves it.

Jealousy
Tom has changed the band name to rage for the machine. “ hell ya I’m gonna do what they tell me!”
Is that a Marshall JCM 800 2210?
Fight capitalism by buying my commie red star wah pedal!
Hyperbole is just plain silly. His problem with capitalism is what anybody's problem should be,extreme capitalism. Profit above all else.
Waiting for the hammer & sickle model
Been playing the Cry Baby Classic & the Vox 847A for years. Tried a number of boutique ones as well. To be fair, Toms Red GCB95 sounded better than both, as well as a CLYDE! That's all she wrote folks, and it didn't cost a fortune. Has the longest throw & widest range of wah effect without all the added garbage. I put it through a HW Plexi 50 watt head, and multiple combos, and it always delivers.
NUFF SAID.
Two things I love about Tom ...One is the way he plays. he's the most original sounding guitarist since The Edge and U2 came around back in 1980 although The Edge is very limited without his FX and Tom is not. The second thing I love about Tom is that he started playing a bit late in life and I did too, we're around the same age he's 3 years older than I am and I began playing at 18 one year later than he did. And this is what I tell younger musicians if someone says "O boy I started playing 35 years ago." that DOES NOT mean they're good, they could be but they may not be. What makes you a good musician is several things and the main one is how much and how well did you practice in those 35 years. I have a friend who is exactly my age, he taught me my first chord he began playing at age 14 and we were 18 when he taught me my first chord. Today we're both 55 but he still plays the same chords he taught me back in 1985, cowboy chords and bar chords with the tonic on the low E, but I am eternally grateful to him.
dr martens ❤️
Someone knows if this pedal can be used for playing bass?
@Gupster 23 Okey, thanks!!😁😁And you know if the dunlop cry baby bass pedal would work to play songs like "Calm like a bomb" of Rage?
Soon to replace my 535Q!!!
Oh sh*t!!!
I've never done..ok, maybe 2. lol
3:03 brooo 😳
Rich and in his 50s. He's now embracing capitalism. Irony at its fullest.
It was inevitable
paperhanger29 Isn't it just the darnest thing?
Embracing while disavowing it, no less.
Not to mention hes also got a signature guitar now with Fender
Remember - capitalism for the elites, socialism for the plebs.See the pattern yet?
so they slap a red star on the pedal and charge 70 bucks extra? nice move
hilarious
So, realistically it's a 75 dollar gcb95 standard wah like Tom said... nothing special about it at all.. but since his name is on it w/ all the generic looking words and color scheme, some how that justifies selling it at a $150 price?
Tom is a genius!
Ma Tom Morello è parente di Aldo Baglio?
So this is a standard crybaby
Tom is Very good!!!!
My idol..✋🇲🇾
Posero .
Disappointing to see so many people confuse markets and capitalism.
Also like someone else said. Many different Cry Babies have existed over the decades using different components. This is probably an 80's reproduction of the one Tom Morello first bought.
Capitalism = market
17 is not late. Maybe 25 would have been late.
I have a wah but I kinda want it
I heard Meth was an acquired taste .... wait what
I don't know if he became a sellout or if he always was one.
Why this f#cking red star !?!?!😢
tommy's a socialist.
LMAO, I guess capitalism isn't so bad?
Those that want it never live by it. Communism for thee but not for me.
The problem is extremes. Like anything else.
GCB95 basic
Блатным и ночью солнце светит)
Tom doesn't have is "Own Voice" he has his Own Language.
Distortion only wah. The pots are too scratchy for clean.
This dude sounded like trump talking about a wah pedal lmfaooo
He keeps saying MY, shouldn’t he be saying OURs?
U realise how stupid you sound? Communism is about looking out for your community and other people. Tom gives money to charities and does union shows and believes in freedom for Palestine
YOU started late with guitar ?????? What should I say ? Started at 47 !
Who ?
"Sometimes history needs a push" is a quote for dictator Vladimir Lenin and is a reference to the genocide of 100 million people. It's purely evil that Dunlop would put a call to genocide on a guitar pedal.
Something seems communist. Might be my bias, all red with big star. Politics aside, is it just a regular cry baby?
Nope, as every one knows the cry baby's had changed a lot the circuits trough the years, and this one use the same exact components and circuit that the 80's one that tom have. Although, its just a wah, every wah sound the same 🤷♂️🤷♂️
Meh... I had to mod my Hendrix was. Now its amazing. The standard Cry Baby blows.
I’m not sure I like the crybaby models. I think Ibanez makes better wah pedals. Prove me wrong.
I'm so glad to see Tom embracing capitalism. Kudos for that
For real. $300 concert tickets and now endorsements from big corporations.
Raging FOR the Machine. He's such a hypocrite. Fight capitalism by buying my pedal from this massive company!
I've been making noise with my guitars and pedals since the 60's, way before he was even born. I think some of my stuff is way better than his. Why aren't I just as famous?
Where can we listen ?
outernational My house! I’ll give you a private show! 😎🎸
@@digiwaves yeah, that's why you're not famous, you have to leave the music to the people of the world, like this guy do (Morello)
Maybe you are not a sellout.
"Sometimes history needs a push." Yep. And sometimes communists need a push, just ask any Chilean helicopter pilot in the Pinochet era.
Anti Capitalist, but wears 200 dollar sunglasses....
So what? His views may be anti capitalist but it doesn’t make society around him any different. He’s rich so why the hell not get some ray bans?
@@OwenMiller-ge5lo it's not exactly his views that's the problem. People are allowed to believe what they want, and live how they want; however, if you wanna sit here and preach about how evil capitalism is, and shamelessly reap the benefits of capitalism, then that's just blatant hypocrisy. That's my problem with his logic.
Great. ANOTHER person who doesn't understand what Tom Morello ACTUALLY stands for. It's WAY more nuanced than "capitalism bad". Unfortunately, whenever ANYBODY says anything short of how super-duper-awesome-and-infallible capitalism is, what they say and believe gets straw-manned all to hell.
He’s a colossal hypocrite. I think some of the stuff he does effect wise is cool, but he’s wack as a person.
@@cameronpeasgood9548 but I mean he can’t change any of that. And plus because of capitalism, most glasses arnt well made, so if you want a decent pair you have to pay a lot of money for it. Which sucks but that’s just the way it is.
Rage WITH the Machine
Capitalism...it’s great huh?!!
Hates capitalism, promotes a product for himself, and a corporation to make capital. 🙃
RATM - eat the fruit, curse the tree
Always baffled at how crappy those music legends studios are... So small and unimpressive
Boy Tom, really looks like you’re enjoying the fruits of capitalism.
Holy shit dunlop... for real, you're making a pedal QUOTING LENIN????? What's next a Hitler quote on a pick???? WTAF?
Oh c'mon! You surely don't know anything about pedals and electronics. I can buy a GCB95 and so a friend of mine and if we compare the sound is gonna be different, always. Because the components are different and this one seems to have some specific pieces that results in Tom's wah wah sound.
If you're not going to buy it, shut up and let people do whatever business they want.
Sure, the guy can sell whatever crap he wants. The problem is that he says he is "anti capitalism", so is a hypocrite.
You guys, this is why the band broke up.
Buy from smaller builders, not woke dunlop corporation.
Tom is an absolute 🤡
He's also living absolutely rent free in your head
@@Secretary.of.Education how’s that..?
Signature branding? Marketing? Smells a lot like capitalism. Believe whatever socialist garbage you want, but stop being a Poser. Don't preach "equality for all and down with big corporations" blah, blah, blah........and then accept an endorsement from a big corporation.
"I'm not a violent person..." but he idolizes the worst and most brutal dictators that have ever set foot on the earth. Weird....
