Thank you Meghan. Barry, the technique he used was yakutian style. Yakuts life in Russia but has different ethical roots. They are closer to kazaks. In this run I think he switched from yakutian style to zhotkau. Zhotkau is a kazakh lament singing. They use it for express the grief and sorrow for a person that passed away. And Dimash did it for honor the original kazakh singer of this song. He was one of his favorite singers. He is accompanied from the original band A-studio

When I listened to Dimash my very first time it was this song and I was hooked immediately. Now look at me! During the first video I was constantly staring at the video of Dimash and didn't pay much attention to Barry. At 9:03 when Dimash switched to a higher voice I looked over to Barry, because I was sure he'd have some facial reaction to it. Right at that moment Barry looked right into the camera. For a second there I really believed he was actually looking at me. Like two friends suddenly eyeing one another to say "Hey did you hear that?" "Yes I did too."
Keep taking me back to the first time I am hearing this song, you do it every time, dear Barry. I can't wait for you to review another! He often sings in the lamenting tone of his heritage to address and respect the dearly departed, and "sends" the notes skyward with the motions. Мне нравится этот человек. Выделил, что вообщем-то там ничего особенного в песне и не было - па-пап-парам-па-парам и всё. Но Димаш делает произведение, где слышны и понятны эмоции слов, даже незнающим язык! Это как краски - их многие мешают, пишут ими… Но вдруг кто-то так их выкладывает и размещает, что сами краски пропадают по отдельности и нет красной, зелёной или синей, но появляется величайшая картина! Которую хочется видеть целиком, без всяких мелочей, потому что всякая мелочь в ней и создаёт это целое, и без него не существует, и просто ненужна!
Так и Димаш - пам-парам делает ВЕЛИЧАЙШЕЙ КАРТИНОЙ С ЭМОЦИЕЙ, понятной любому слушателю, а автор, наверняка, спокоен за своё произведение в таком изложении, ведь Димаш выражает именно то, что хотел автор… Вложенный кусок огромной Души.

I think there should be a new style of singing called Dimash style. That's the only way to describe how he sings. Those riffs and runs he does toward the end was clocked at 25 seconds (of pure amazement). The piano player from A-Studio wrote this originally, but it was rearranged for Dimash's voice. It's okay if you jump a bit from the competition. Inbetween taping the show, he flew back and forth and was doing other performances. I would say his voice has matured since the competition (he was pretty nervous during Singer). You nailed it that he was brought up the right way. There's a tradition in Kazakhstan where the eldest child is given to the grandparents to raise until a certain age. His father's parents came to live with them and help raise him. I look forward to a lot more from you!

I come from a tall family. When you're tall, you're always tall. That's just how you move everyday of your life. A couple of my relatives have to be careful going through doors in older buildings, but other than that, being tall is the same as being short or average. The only other difference is that they don't need a step ladder to reach the top shelf.

This is from one of the early competitions he was in. There's 2 concerts that I know of. One this year, along with a couple of videos, and a concert from last year called Arnau.
Dimash was a guest at this appearance. He was not competing. There have been way more than 2 concerts in the last year even though his tour was halted by the coronavirus. I saw him in solo sold out concert in NYC last Dec. 10.
He is a guest here, not a competitor. As to the amount of concerts - just in 2020 he had 6 solo concerts, not counting smaller performances. And he should have had many more if it hadn't been for the virus.

This is the festival "New Wave" in Sochi (Russia). There was a competition of young performers and concerts of Russian artists. Dimash acted as a guest at the jubilee concert of the Kazakh group "A-studio".
Baigali Serkebaev - the author of the song - plays the piano here.
It was a phenomenal performance! Superb low notes at the beginning, unreal high notes at the end. And again the oriental tones in the song!

Dimash used kazakh singing technique. Saha people ( Russia) uses this technique too.
