2016 last time the G7 had a update, think it's safe to say they are no longer supporting that.
Will double check make sure I do have the latest firmware and follow your instructions. Seems easy enough.

Yeah the g7 is pretty much flawless in terms of firmware they manage to squeeze the most out of it pretty much from the start
The good news is that my Panasonic LUMIX TX20 does not have an update, so I can’t brick it with an update. Great video, Thanks Mike.

the spanner icon is the settings part, it looks like a wrench or spanner as it is sometimes known

On my Lumix G9 it has to be set to iA in order for firmware updates to work.
Hi Mike. My G7 is only showing body firmware information ( version 2.2). There is no information about the lens . It looks like there is no communication between the camera and the lens. Should I just update the lens firmware?
if there is no communication between the camera and lens you won't be able to flash it. maybe remove the lens and reattach it, does the lens still auto focus and auto WB and Iso?
can I upgrade from 1.3 to 1.5 without upgdating to 1.4 as a separate operation?

My camera and lenses are still on version 1.1. I only just found out I could update the firmware! 😳
This looks very straightforward. No card reader for my PC though, but I have on my Android tablet. Is it at all possible to download the .bin files on that?
yes i think so
@mikesunboxing I had a spare microSD and adapter so I tried that in my Tab S7. I was able to download and save the .bin file to it, but that was as far as I got! Put the card back in the camera, full battery and everything, but no reaction, and no files found. I have a feeling the tablet automatically formatted the card for it's own use, but I'm not sure.
Oh well, I'll sort something out. Another box on the checklist for a new laptop.
If you have access to any pc it should be possible or if you get really stuck send it to me and I’ll put the files on there and return it to you
Or get a cheap card reader on Amazon or even the local sainsburys or coop

Hello, Mike. At first, I must thank you for your great videos and reviews. At second, I have one question. I have Lumix G85, American model, obviously. I live in Serbia, and I shoot in 50Hz region. In my camera, there are only 24. 30 and 60fps settings, which give me serious flickering issue under artificial light. Is there some solution for that? Can I apply Australian or Hong Kong firmware on my camera? Will I get the variety of settings of that region's camera, or will I ruin the camera? Greetings.
pretty sure if you change the regional setting in the menu you can get 25 50hz

I tried to download for the G80but all I get is unable to expand G80-V16bin. It is an unsupported format. Any idea why this is happening.
i don't think you need to expand a bin file only zip files
