I've always been an avid rock/metal fan but discovered Deep Purple a few years ago, the first song I listened to was "Starstruck". Now I listen to them almost every day, such an amazingly talented band with so many absolute bangers. Honestly believe no band or group has even come near Deep Purple's unique style & vocals.
Amazing reaction! I had a similar experience not too long ago when I saw this for the first time. I have no idea what the ending was about, but I believe the rest of the song was a war protest. And the only thing I can say about the crowds at the time is; every time I see a band perform on a TV show, the crowd is like this. Maybe it has something to do with the tech at time and crowd noise would interfere with the bands audio...IDK. I was 2 when this came out so I'm guessing. You have the best facial expressions on all of YT, my friend. It brings me joy to see you having so much fun!! Keep rockin and stay safe. Peace out.
kkkkkkkkkkkkk ian = killer in this time , a real vocal, maybe he dont suport this level for many years but ok he is a top ten vocals in metal ever for sure
I don't think Jon Lord will ever be surpassed on keyboards and Ian Paice is right up there with John Bonham, Ritchie Blackmore is just spot on perfection.
They are fire, you are absolutely correct. DP is one of the best bands in rock history, this song is beyond epic, beyond classic. And Ian, well, Ian is the best rock singer of all time, in my opinion.
I've seen a lot of reactions to this song on RUclips, but honestly this is by far the best. It's so wonderful to see somebody discovering one of my all-time favourite pieces of music for the first time with such wonderful enthusiasm and enjoyment 👍
Ians voice for me was one of the truely great voices ever, Freddie Mercury gets so much praise yet people like Ian dont. Richard Ashcroft from the Verve and Prince also are truely great singers and Rob Halford and Layne Staley from Alice in Chains, Eric Burdon of the Animals and Steve Marriott from the Small Faces and Humble pie.

This song is about the Vietnam war. One of the best rock songs ever written according to many resources.
