- Hey Guys! Thank you so much for watching! I'm so happy with the results so I decided to share this for you guys for anyone curious to see how I did it. omg u have no idea how helpful this is. i knew i had to bleach my hair to get to a light brown but didn't know which dye to use. all the videos here on yt show box dye.... i colored my moms black hair with brown box dye and her hair came out a dark brown with red tones.

Excellent video and I was so glad I found it! thanks for putting it out there. With that said I just want to warn everyone that there is a great possibility you won't get the same results. I followed the instructions to a T and still ended up with orange hair with slight yellow tones. I went online again and did research. I think what happened was the girl in the video achieved a diferent level of bleaching level than I did and therefore the color used for toning did not work on me. I needed something ash to cancel out all the orange. I am going to try to use a medium ash blonde and see if I can still achieve a light brown. Just wanted to share my experience in case anyone tries this and ends up with orange hair. Good luck to everyone trying this @ home!

Ugh, such a great tutorial! When you first washed the bleach out did you use purple shampoo? Or did you use normal shampoo to wash the bleach out and then purple after toning?
Thank you I’m glad you liked it! ☺️ and I only used purple shampoo until after toning as the last step since it can be very drying and the hair is already fragile!
Wow! Wow! Wow! You slayed bleaching, this is absolute genius. Incredible results, her hair looks so healthy from here. Was it crunchy after? I'm going lighter since I'm trying to minimize the white hair growth ,buuuut ! I'm using box dye , because I figure it's all in the box and measured for me . Right now , I'm a Medium Golden Chestnut Brown from Revlon, I'm using Lightest Golden Brown, but not sure if I should use it for highlights or to change all my hair color .
Thank you!! 🫶🏻☺️ so her hair remained soft and it was her first time dying it, so from my experience if you’re applying box color over box colored hair it won’t necessarily lift unless you only use it on your roots, if you’d like highlights I’d definitely recommend using bleach since bleach will lift the previous color out but your hair could feel a light more dry depending how you take care of it. I currently have bleached highlights in my previously dyed hair and did notice the bleached pieces aren’t as soft as before but I prefer highlights to blend in with my white hair growth 😂

I applied the dye to just the roots what I left out from bleaching, thank you 💓truly appreciate it! 🥰

After bleaching do I use a toner and hair dye or just one? And if just one which one?
So here I did bleach then hair dye on the roots and then toner because for her it was easier when her roots grew out to touch them up with this hair dye in between! 😊

You can but bleach might lighten your root very quickly so you probably still need a color to apply to your root, But if you try bleach on your roots I suggest only 10volume developer! 😊
how would i get my hair this color if i already have a grown out balayage in my hair.? Can i use the same products.
I’d say If your hair is black you would have to still bleach that but if it’s just a small root touch up you could skip the bleach and dye the root using the color dye I used with vol 30 developer!

For like 30 minutes but I continued to check on it to make sure it wasn’t going too light 👍🏼

Could I bleach the roots instead of dying them and still get a similar color? I want them to be the same color as the rest of the hair cuz I have greys 😅
I normally use dyes as it’s easier for me and they do have some grey coverage dyes!😊 But If you want to bleach your roots I’d recommend you do that step last so you don’t get hot roots that’s when the roots lift lighter then the rest of the hair, also you’d want to use 10vol on the roots! Hope that helps! 🥰

what will happen if i use 30 vol instead?
If you use 30vol the hair will get lighter and it could be more damaging but if you’re trying to go lighter than this you could use 30vol!
