I knew who they were over 10 years ago, but I was close minded about what they would sound like without hearing them. A few years back I read a heavy metal magazine about how Opeth changed and alienated their fans, I was intrigued and gave it a listen. I believe they are the only band besides Tool that I get excited to hear what they are doing.

as an opeth fan from the very start, who listened to a bootleg tape of black rose immortal basically nonstop on my bus ride to school, i LOVED damnation, and can't believe anyone thinks it sucks

Incredible performance. Opeth still have the same class and sounds of tranquility and wisdom.

His vocals are spot on. Love it when bands actually sound as good or better than studio.

They could essentially record this gig as a studio record its so tight and well-played.

EDIT: ... and let me say this: Opeth never dies. They are HEAVY as Hell also in the proggy songs. Heavy in a different way... but not so different.

OK, actually an Opeth version of somebody else's song.
"You Suffer" by Napalm Death. I'm pretty sure I can sing that one now. :->
