The philosophical and psychological aspects of the song is amazing. It reminds me of a lot of Carl Jung's theory of the Shadow and the collective unconsciousness.
The music theory aspect is interesting as well, Korn does a lot of key changes and modes you would find in Gypsy, flamenco, and middle eastern classical music. Much different than traditional western music style.
I feel like a person could write a academic essay about Korn and it would cover a wide range of disciplines from Psychology, philosophy, theology, and the theory of music from western music to middle eastern music to the far east. I wouldn't put Korn in a box or label of heavy metal, that's just a brand name for the music industry to sell a product. Korn is on a level of no rules no branding or in the box. Korn is a style all of its own.

That being said Korn is a band that has done it all and I’m ok with that.

I think their last 2 albums were mostly amazing. It's like both have some really killer songs, but some songs that were okayish.

I just woke up today with some Korn song in my head which made me think "hey, how come Geebz didn't have them for his countdown", and then I open youtube page to this and also find out that the band has a great new single, woooow :D

I'm still here! On a friday night, no less...
Korn were absolutely pioneers for the sound of that era back then, and they have kept up through thick and thin with the most pounding, heavy, and most times experimental sounds they can muster.
They never lost sight of speaking about what's going on around them, either, which I like to see with the lyrics. Everyone needs to hear that other people go through everything imaginable; that others besides you hurt, bleed, and give up at times.
But they are still kicking and laying down the gnarliest riffs, and seem to be very together as a band with their composition.
Love the vid, Geebz, and awesome new track from Korn! Excited to hear the rest of the album, keep on rockin'! Awwwright!

Thanks for the analysis, Geebz! I’ve been a Korn fan since their self-titled in 1994, and while they’ve definitely released some meh albums, their unique sound has remained the same despite the experimentation. Nobody else sounds like them. I’m loving the melodies they’ve been doing with the last few albums. Korn has aged like a fine wine in my opinion. Once they stopped trying to be the angry Korn of yesteryear, they hit their stride. Hopefully they keep going. Good luck, buddy, and take care.

Hello from New England..I've been a KORN fan since 1995 when I saw them in Tucson AZ and they slayed!!!....Ive heard this song twice earlier today and it was good, but I expected them to drop the hammer in the middle of the song..This sounds like a single so they wanted something a bit more commercial...Jonathan still has that killer voice, MONKEY and HEAD redefined guitar playing in that era, and I feel Feildy is such an underrated player!!! They also introducing the 7 string to New Metal...Which they are credited to pioneering that sound..Ive seen them 5 times Including HELLFEST 2017-18 and and they destroyed...Great pick..Peace from the Northeast..

@@hre2stay You're wrong! Sepultura was founded in 1984 by the Cavalera brothers, and Korn released their first album 10 years later, in 1994.
Sepultura gained respect and fame in the 1990s with records like Arise and Chaos A.D., and became a strong influence for countless death metal, groove metal and nu metal bands, most likely Korn (which is an amazing band)

This is definitely a classic radio release from them. They usually release a more radio friendly single from each album and the rest is usually a bit more heavy! Great vid though, love your insights.
