I like once upon the studio too it’s good to see all the characters, I’m just surprised that they include the villains. And the way I see is that not all the Disney characters showed up, not even some other Disney villains. Maybe because some Disney villains were too evil. How come they didn’t include Little Toot or Buck, Lucky Jack and some other characters from home on the range or some other characters from Fantasia 2000 like Yo-yo 🪀 Flamingo 🦩.

It better not be. I already believed all that "2D animation will have a place with the studio again because it's an important part of our history" stuff before from them, and by the 2010s they only left me feeling like a fool for even taking them on their word as far as how seriously they were going to want to stay committed to it. If I'm ever going to trust anything Disney says or does at this point as far as hinting at that sort of thing again then they are really going to have to prove their seriousness to us even more now than they would have had to had they not backed out on it previously.
Otherwise whatever suggestion "Once Upon a Studio" may have given us that 2D is still a part of the studio could just prove to have no real intention of meaning anything for any of their future animated films. Only being more teasing and toying with the emotions of those who still want to see them return to the art form they were built on, which is just the kind of thing that would turn you away from the company if you're one of those people.

I already trusted those words before back when it was John Lasseter and Ed Catmull from Pixar saying them, and look at what that really amounted to by the 2010s. Until we can see some real fruits to these words in a big way like with the next big Princess and the Frog type of animated movie, and to not see them go back on their own words again like they had done ever since pushing Frozen out as 3D animation, then I have little reason to trust it as more than just words for now aside from whatever short hand-drawn animations we've been seeing them put out here and there recently like Donald Duck.
True unwavering commitment is how you really prove to people that you believe hand-drawn animation is of real worth as an art form in the studio again, and Lasseter and Catmull clearly didn't stick with theirs. Any hope I'd have to think that things might be different now is knowing that they've both since left Disney.

I think Rescue Rangers' 2D animation would've been much better had they worked with former Walt Disney Animation Japan animators.
Most of them went over to either Studio Ghibli, Makoto Shinkai's studio CoMix Wave Films, Mamoru Hosoda's Studio Chizu, Studio Ponoc, or Hideaki Anno's Studio Khara. Some ex-Walt Disney Animation Japan animators also went on to work at Shirogumi, which did Godzilla Minus One.
If Rescue Rangers was a Disney x Studio Ghibli collab, it would've been amazing. Especially as the film's faux-retro 35mm look ties perfectly with Studio Ghibli's faux-analogue lo-fi aesthetic.
Sadly, that probably would've taken resources and staff away from The Boy and the Heron, especially since some of the staff for that film were also working on Earwig and the Witch at the same time.
Earwig and the Witch began production in the middle of The Boy and the Heron's production and finished well before that film released, as it was made as a made-for-TV filler side project/one-off CGI experiment.
On the other hand, maybe Disney could've given them some of their money to work on Rescue Rangers in return for extra support in producing The Boy and the Heron and keeping Ghibli afloat.

i'd say yes(especially how once upon a studio showed the animators still got it/really have so much passion that the heads didn't show for the 100th that i wish we'd get more proper disney crossovers like it/house of mouse continuation with what we have now.:3).
but it's mostly through the dtva carrying it with it really obvious the disney films need to have a compromise of 2d & 3d films/whatever animation styles they may try in the future as their 2d was always so great and shouldn't have gone away especially as several 3d films would've benefited more being their 2d film animation.

An issue I have is that no one craves a balance of 2D and 3D content; most people just say "we've had enough of 3D. Let's go back to 2D entirely," as if 3D hasn't just become the mainstay since the 2000s/2010s while 2D was running the game for about a century. I want a return to 2D, but I don't want 3D to be abandoned; the realism it creates is too amazing to let go.

    • @nicksorenson940
      @nicksorenson940 5 месяцев назад +1

And why do you think some of us would say that? Maybe it's because our studios have made such an agenda out of pushing 3D over 2D for so long that they'd ironically turn some of us off from any 3D animated movies and the very look of them entirely by this point. You wanting to gush about how realistic they can be made to look now doesn't help make them feel any less overrated or make me feel any less tired of it. You may not want 3D movies to ever be abandoned yourself, but it doesn't mean they shouldn't deserve to be more than 2D movies ever truly deserved it for all the trouble that they ended up being put through because of 3D.
As for me anything still recognizable as being a computer animated movie I have not been giving the studios any money, attention, or support for like they want or expect, because they've spent all this time pushing them at the great expense of traditional 2D movies even being a thing from us anymore that I only want to care about that medium/style's own future more now, and I'm smart enough to know that these studios wouldn't get the message from me otherwise if I were to continue to blindly give them whatever attention they still want 3D to have.
I eventually recognized that I had to pull myself out of the cycle once I could start seeing what our mainstream 3D movies had really turned into over the years since Pixar and DreamWorks introduced them into the market, which is just a way for our studios to now want to keep 2D movies back, and then I had to decide what was really worth caring about more.
Could we still have a more fair and equal balance of the two for our animated movies again one day (sooner rather than later)? No reason there couldn't be. After all some of us were more open to 3D movies back when they were still a new concept and there were only so many of them. But then if some of us have grown sick of them entirely by now then our studios should only have themselves to blame for it. Until we truly get to that point of having an equal balance again the kind that Disney displayed in that "Once Upon a Studio" short is only going to come off as wishful fantasy rather than a true reflection of where our industry actually is for our animated movies.

    • @OpticalSorcerer
      @OpticalSorcerer 5 месяцев назад

@@nicksorenson940 Not really expecting you to "gush." Of course 3D is gonna be pushed as an "agenda" because it's a new thing; companies need to make money, and several 2D films of the 2000s were said to have flopped because 3D was in style. Now with 3D films making over $1 billion, something with 2D is gonna have to be super drastic to have companies go back to it--which I think they will, eventually, but there will obviously be detractors who feel like them going back to 2D is "working backwards."

    • @nicksorenson940

@@OpticalSorcerer Meanwhile The Boy and The Heron got to make money because Japan is one country in the world that still allows 2D animation any chance to make any when our own studios won't or never want to.
2D animation shouldn't have to prove shit if it was never truly guilty of anything to begin with just for being different. Whatever the circumstances with one animated movie or another it never should have been the place of our studios to blame a whole entire art form to the point of believing that it should be thrown away or neglected altogether. It is not "backwards" to be a wholly different artistic medium set apart from any other.
This whole corporate 3D bias has gotten extremely old by this point, and they need to start giving us more mainstream 2D movies again. You might agree that 3D movies have been an agenda for our studios, but the only one I see wanting to validate them for it is you. 2D is not the true problem, but they always were.

    • @OpticalSorcerer
      @OpticalSorcerer 5 месяцев назад

@@nicksorenson940 I think TBATH will help open the door for 2D again in the west, but like I said, America does 3D for financial reasons. Seeing how toxic the anime industry can be due to the lack of unions, outsourcing, and underpaid animators, I doubt companies would want to spend more money for 3D tech and training animators how to use it. On a personal note, I'm not crazy about Japanese CGI; it looks more like hybrid animation than anything.
IDK why you're saying "guilty" and "blame" like I'm condemning 2D; this feels more like an argument than a discussion now.

    • @nicksorenson940
      @nicksorenson940 5 месяцев назад

@@OpticalSorcerer The ones who have been condemning 2D animated movies, and still been wanting to, are our own studios. Whether anyone else chooses to listen to any of their concocted excuses over the years, let alone wanting to blindly follow along in supporting their own 3D-pushing agenda that they started wanting to have for themselves to want to replace 2D, has been entirely up to them. But I haven't been anymore since learning to think outside the box to see the real injustice that's been going on in our current industry and how unfair it's really been, rather than letting myself listen to everything our studios currently want us to follow or thinking that everything about what they're wanting to do nowadays is truly right or should be right.
Quite simply I care more about traditional 2D animation's future as a creative art form in our industry than whether our studios want to think it's of any real worth as one anymore while wanting to tell us it isn't with every new 3D animated movie that gets pushed out in its place.

I'll never watch that Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers movie because I'm already 100% convinced that watching it would be an annoying waste of time. From enjoying the TV series by in my adulthood watching it on physical copies, and likely in my childhood too, I got interested when I heard that they were making that movie, but I got super disappointed when I watched reviews of it after it's release. The story plot got shown to be a trashy boring woke insult to the popular 90s show, and they didn't even think of either letting any of the original VAs who voiced those characters in the TV series reprise their roles or think of looking for VAs who could make their voices sound like what those original VAs had when they voiced those characters in the show!!!!!! Also why have Ugly Sonic be in it when it was already clear that so many people, even people who weren't fans of that franchise had gotten soo disturbed by that messed-up character design and had given Paramount a lot of backlash for making the movie counterpart of that well-known videogame character look like that!

Anyway, or Cow and Chicken reunited with their parents
or Gumball reunited with his family and friends
or Bambi reunited with his mother and his father the great prince of the forest and his friends like his girlfriend Faline and his two best friends Thumper the rabbit and Flower the skunk
or Launchpad McQuack reunited with the DuckTales group, especially Donald and Daisy Duck
or The Cheshire Cat reunited with Alice and her wonderland friends. (At least, I hope they are. And I just don’t understand why can’t original Alice be more like her great granddaughter from Alice’s Wonderland bakery?)
or Dipper pines from Gravity falls reunited with his family and friends (I would include his parents, but I don’t know what they look like.)
or Zazu reunited with Simba and The lion king gang
or Patrick Seastar reunited with SpongeBob SquarePants and the bikini bottom gang
or Tiana from the Princess and the frog 🐸(Who was turned into a frog 🐸) After turned back into a human reunited with her family and friends
or even Flounder from the little mermaid reunited with Ariel, Eric, Melody, Sebastian, Scutte and King Triton and also Tip the Penguin 🐧 and Dash the Walrus and Eric’s dog Max.
    Ariel: Flounder!
    Flounder: Ariel? Ariel!
(Ariel runs or swims to Flounder and joyfully gives him a hug)
Ariel: Oh Flounder, I missed you so much! (Hugs and kisses him)
Flounder: (Giggles and blushes) Oh gosh. I missed you too, Ariel.
Or Robin Hood and Toby Turtle reunited with Little John, Maid Marian, Friar Tuck, King Richard and Skippy Bunny,
    etc. etc.
Although, I’m not so sure about the Cheshire cat from Alice in wonderland or Kaa the snake from the jungle book.
And I also have a bad feeling about Shere Khan the tiger who is also from The Jungle Book and Randall Boggs from Monsters Inc.
Anyway and then everyone will thank Chip and Dale for rescued their missing friends and loved ones. Some give them high-fives, some give them handshakes and some give them hugs.
Clopin: Free cheers, For Chip and Dale!
    Everyone: Hip hip hooray 😃!

    Thumper: Well done guys.
    Flower: Thank you very much.
    Faline: Oh yes, thank you.
Ariel: Oh yes, thank you boys for saving Flounder.
Flounder: Yeah, thank you guys for saving my life.
Snow White: Thank you boys. For saving Sneezy and Dopey.
Cinderella: Yes, thank you so much. For saving my mice friends.
(Some Disney/non-Disney toons gives them high-fives and some gives them hand skates, while the girl toons like Snow White, Cinderella and Ariel each give Chip and Dale a kiss 💋 thank you.)
Abu: Thank you 🙏 Chip and Dale.
Jasmine: Yes, thank you so much for saving Abu. (Gives Chip and Dale a kiss as well)
Tiana: Yes and thank you boys for saving me as well. (Also gives Chip and Dale a kiss 💋 as well)
    Dale: Aw Gee.
Chip: Oh, it was nothing. But your welcome.
Dale: But we couldn’t have done it without our friends who helped us along the way. Gadget, Zipper, Ellie, Tigra, and Lumiere.
Wait a second, did I leave anyone out?
    Chip: Un, Ugly Sonic.
Dale: Oh yeah, right! Him too.
Chip: And also we did it to save a dear old friend of ours Monterey Jack and if wasn’t for that smelly Cologne he had on, we would have never found him and everyone else.
And if Peter Pan has been put back to his normal good old self, I think everyone would’ve be mad at him. Especially TinkerBell, Wendy, John and Michael.
And between you and me the main villain in the Chip and Dale movie should have been Mortimer Mouse or Scrappy Doo or Mrs. Turtle 🐢 and her son Baby Shelby or Oswald the lucky rabbit 🐰.
And if Linda; Phineas and Ferb’s mother would’ve find out what happened to her son, she would quit her job and fight off Sweet Pete and his gang, so she can help Chip and Dale find the missing Toons, including her son Phineas. But I think she would be in big trouble when or if her family hears about this.
But I think the funny thing is that when or if the real Peter Pan shows up, he would say to everyone “Wait a minute guys, this is all a misunderstanding and you made a big mistake. I’m the real Peter Pan! That guy who looks like me only older is an imposter!” And Tinker Bell, Wendy, John and Michael will be the only ones who can tell if that’s the real Peter Pan, along with Jake and the Neverland Pirates.
And it also would be even better if Lumiere gets a reunion with Belle, Prince Adam/Beast, Cogsworth, Mrs. Potts, Chip and Fifi/Plumette
And that is how I think Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers should have ended.
P.S. The way I say it, is because that was not the Peter Pan I know and love ❤️, the real Peter Pan lives in Neverland and he never grows up and I overheard Sweet Pete telling Chip that he’s always more of a Alvin and the chipmunks person, which means that he’s more of a fan of Alvin and the chipmunks then he is of Chip and Dale. That’s definitely not sound like the Peter Pan I know and love ❤️ and he doesn’t even know Alvin and the chipmunks. And I wish Mushu was in the movie.
