Andrew H That’s what I thought too. The chaos insurgency is actually just an o5 task force portrayed as a bogey man to the lesser foundation, thus boosting the secrecy of the chaos insurgency
This would fit, considering the Foundation's self righteous streak, and perfect willingness to sacrifice ethics for the sake of knowledge. It could even be a side project of a select inner circle of certain 05 members.
In my head canon, the chaos insurgency never betrayed the foundation. Their "real" betrayal may have been just another ploy by the foundation. Perhaps, the public was getting suspicious with the real relationship between them and the insurgency, so the foundation had to reinstate their story by telling the public "yea, so the chaos insurgency was really working for us as a covert task force but now they've betrayed us for realsies this time." I mean most of the insurgency's raids have been somewhat beneficial to the foundation's understanding of some scp. Without the raids, they wouldnt have figured out the real effect of the handmirror and more staff would have been infected with doubt. Also the immortal cat would have also continued to send intelligence about the foundation to whoever it was transmitting the frequencies to. I mean, it's pretty convenient that after a raid, the foundation can recover the lost scp's along with new information regarding them. Also, now the insurgency can raid GOC an MC&D for anomalies, and the foundation can "recover" what they stole from them after "raiding" their bases.
I had that thought with me for quite a while now and am surprised that I am not the only one who thinks so. The Idea of them betraying Foundation is the best cover story they could have. I especially believe so since as you stated, they can utilize them to raid other foundations without getting their hands dirty and without any suspicion from others.

I find that the 3 Apollyon’s on the site show very interesting aspects of the foundation that aren’t explored very often: - 2317 shows the foundation using false hope in an inevitable situation to maintain morale in the hope that the Scarlet King won’t awaken and enter our reality. - 001 (When day breaks) shows the complete collapse of society and how futile the foundation’s efforts end up being when the Apollyon desolated absolutely everything the foundation worked towards in less than 24 hours (and ‘killed’ 6.8 billion people in the process). - 3999 shows the capabilities of a reality bender who was powerful enough to regularly cause the end of all existence and restart it all over again and again to repeatedly torture a single researcher out of spite and highlights just how dangerous reality benders can be. A bit late but this does tie in with the theory that they use innocents for experiments since the scp foundation does have a ethics committee that won't allow such things
@@azurecynex4796 that's only in the broken masquerade canon, not the mainstream canon. the chaos insurgency being a cover-up for secret foundation operations would only really make sense in the broken masquerade canon, but even then it wouldn't explain why the chaos insurgency actually goes out of their way to hinder the foundation.
There should be a movie based on this SCP universe. It's so rich with deep lore and many fictional entities and objects, that it could have it's own multi billion dollar franchise that can rival MCU
Whenever I get notified about a new video on this channel, I get so excited! This is the best channel I've found on youtube in a while. Thank you so much for making these. The lore is fascinating and you explain it so well. This is maximum immersion! Keep up the good work. This SCP stuff makes my day.
I find that the SCP is a great blend of Philip K Dick and Lovecraft. They all start short and sweet; but always end up with having the readers building upon the original scripts. And the feeding new readers to material, to have them input new material and it keeps going and going. The fact they actually read and cretique the new material, makes it that much enthralling. Keep up the good work everyone.
A lot of times I won’t be in the mood to listen to a verbatim reading of an SCP, but I’m almost always in the mood to listen to you discuss them. You do a perfect job of paraphrasing without missing crucial details and the result is a much more accessible viewing experience
my brain went to "these guys MAKE anomalies who transmit messages?" then to "so they bug them to transmit messages" then immediately to "What the hell is going on with these messages and SCPs."
I got into this from some video games, stayed for the nods to lovecraft, now i'm using your lore videos as inspiration for my dnd games. I like to homebrew, and my games are always a story of tragedy.
This was really cool. These guys are very, to quote you, "fluid". They seem to be a piece of scp fiction that can be utilized in a variety of ways rather than being set things such as the church of the broken god or MC&D. Truly an interesting faction you've covered today. Great work!
Really cool. Another GOI I never really read much about but was interested in. Serpent's Hand next? It can be done together with the Wanderer's Library, the SCP universe magic, MTF Sigma-3 and even the Black Queen. I wouĺd really like to see you tackle this part of the SCP universe, even more so since you already covered the CotBG, Wondertainment, Sarkics, GOC, MC&D and CI.
I just stumbled upon the scp foundation a week ago and I'm addicted lol. We need games and full feature films. Each scp could be a full movie or at least short film
My favourite Anomaly used by the CI is 3821, a mailbox that instantly teleports any mail put in it to it’s destination. The chaos insurgency sent bombs through it to foundation sites.
I just feel bad for the cat. Also, I like the fact that they were originally an off the books group for the Foundation. All institutions need to learn a lesson about trying to have it both ways and the Foundation's lesson is the insurgency. If you're gonna make rules, you need to stay true to them. Can't have it both ways.
Outstanding job with this one! I’m still fairly new to the SCP universe, but I’m never bored when I’m digging through the subject matter. You explain the different facets of the Foundation and other organizations in such a clear manner that I can return to the Wikipedia articles and have a better understanding of who is responsible for what. And it’s still growing. I can’t wait to see what’s next!
I absolutely love this Exploring Series(well every single series of yours is awesome). I personally can’t wait for Herman Fuller’s Circus of the Disquieting and the Manna Charitable Foundation to be “explored.” Thanks for keeping me occupied on while on the toilet, at work and on the toilet at work.

“And make sure your cat isn’t working for the insurgency.” Bruh its nearly 4am and I was seconds from sleeping, that thought literally blew my eyes open 😂😂
all i know about the chaos insurgency (through scp games) is that theyre the cleanup cleanup group (they kill the killers of scps and under "killers" i mean containers like the MTF, Nine tailed fox, etc)
After 12 years in captivity with regular attempts at harming our furniture, plus nightly howling and meowing into nothingness, I am quite certain my cat is working for the insurgency.
The chaos insurgency not only Capture's the SCP's, they also rescue D class personnel, the reason they do this is because of 2 thinks: 1) They needed to gain bigger army to lauch raids on the Foundation. 2) The reason they rescue D class and let them join chaos is because foundation Only take's violent criminal's, oftenly because they had some experience's in think's such as using gun's, creating new weapon's, and help chaos in any way's. They only use'd capture'd Foundation personnel as the test subject's, not D class.
My favorite part of the Chaos Insurgency was that in one story, the name supposedly came from a quote in a letter by one of its founders, that “Never has a more chaotic insurgency been mishandled into existence.”
So the cat... was a spy... for the Chaos Insurgency? That might be the single most funniest, and greatest thing in all of SCP.

There are currently only 3 Apollyon’s on the site and all of them are pretty interesting:
- SCP 2317
- SCP 3999
- SCP 001 (When Day Breaks)
For those who don’t know, Apollyon is the designation for SCPs that can’t be contained and have the potential to cause a complete loss of life scenario due to how dangerous they are. If you use the box metaphor:
- Safe: if you put it in a box and nothing happens, it’s safe.
- Euclid: If you put it in the box, leave it alone and you’re unsure of what might happen, it’s Euclid.
- Keter: If you put it in the box, leave it alone and it breaks out, it’s Keter.
- Thaumiel: If it is the box that contains a Keter, it’s Thaumiel.
- Apollyon: There is no box, there will never be a box, the end is just a matter of time.
I find that the 3 Apollyon’s on the site show very interesting aspects of the foundation that aren’t explored very often:
- 2317 shows the foundation using false hope in an inevitable situation to maintain morale in the hope that the Scarlet King won’t awaken and enter our reality.
- 001 (When day breaks) shows the complete collapse of society and how futile the foundation’s efforts end up being when the Apollyon desolated absolutely everything the foundation worked towards in less than 24 hours (and ‘killed’ 6.8 billion people in the process).

All in all, great work with the content! Loving the series!

What about the theory that the CI never actually defected and it's still carrying out a secret design for ths O5 council?
A bit late but this does tie in with the theory that they use innocents for experiments since the scp foundation does have a ethics committee that won't allow such things
@@azurecynex4796 that's only in the broken masquerade canon, not the mainstream canon. the chaos insurgency being a cover-up for secret foundation operations would only really make sense in the broken masquerade canon, but even then it wouldn't explain why the chaos insurgency actually goes out of their way to hinder the foundation.

There should be a movie based on this SCP universe. It's so rich with deep lore and many fictional entities and objects, that it could have it's own multi billion dollar franchise that can rival MCU
the problem is the fair use laws so other companies can just copie the content

Whenever I get notified about a new video on this channel, I get so excited! This is the best channel I've found on youtube in a while. Thank you so much for making these. The lore is fascinating and you explain it so well. This is maximum immersion! Keep up the good work. This SCP stuff makes my day.

I questioned my cat thoroughly after watching this. I've had my suspicions...
"You know too much to let them take you. You're coming with us."
I love how they are noted to have extreme loyalty to the SCP Foundation, then defect.
When he said "make sure you're cat isn't working for the insurgency", I looked over and saw mine pretending to not watch me eating.

So are you going to do Serpent’s Hand next?

I think the chaos insurgencys tale begins in scp 354's story.
I just stumbled upon the scp foundation a week ago and I'm addicted lol. We need games and full feature films. Each scp could be a full movie or at least short film
Whoever created this is a great WH40K fan.

Jovan Mitrić The Chaos insurgency just wants to summon Daemons to the material world to serve the ruinous powers of chaos.
-Dr. Bright
it seems all these conflicting stories and motives fit the chaos part really well, perhaps this was expected by the original author
SCP-001 The Children (djkaktus' proposal I) gives a hint as to what caused the schism and the CI going rouge.
DILLIGAF I think the factory gives an origin about the chaos insurgency and so,e other factions too.
@@GreaterGrievobeast55 You're right. It gave hints about the Church of the Broken God and MC&D, but I forgot about the CI.
My favourite Anomaly used by the CI is 3821, a mailbox that instantly teleports any mail put in it to it’s destination.
The chaos insurgency sent bombs through it to foundation sites.
Wouldn’t mind seeing Anderson Robotics Corp in the future
I just feel bad for the cat. Also, I like the fact that they were originally an off the books group for the Foundation. All institutions need to learn a lesson about trying to have it both ways and the Foundation's lesson is the insurgency. If you're gonna make rules, you need to stay true to them. Can't have it both ways.
Everyone is missing the big question here. Are they Alpharius?

Outstanding job with this one! I’m still fairly new to the SCP universe, but I’m never bored when I’m digging through the subject matter. You explain the different facets of the Foundation and other organizations in such a clear manner that I can return to the Wikipedia articles and have a better understanding of who is responsible for what. And it’s still growing. I can’t wait to see what’s next!

REZNOV DIED AT VORKUTA MASON
The chaos insurgency not only Capture's the SCP's, they also rescue D class personnel, the reason they do this is because of 2 thinks: 1) They needed to gain bigger army to lauch raids on the Foundation. 2) The reason they rescue D class and let them join chaos is because foundation Only take's violent criminal's, oftenly because they had some experience's in think's such as using gun's, creating new weapon's, and help chaos in any way's. They only use'd capture'd Foundation personnel as the test subject's, not D class.

Although the SCP universe is great and filled with lore it also has a lot of inconsistencies.
Well there is no canon so
That's the drawback with having such expansive lore. Just look at Marvel, DC, Doctor Who, Star Wars, Warhammer 40K, and the Cthulhu Mythos.
