I found your channel 6 months or so after picking up a WJ with death wobble. I dig your sense of humor so I started from the beginning and just finished up now. Most of your vlogs I really like. I need to go back and 👍 a bunch of them. I'm in Kentucky and feel your pain with all the f'ing rust! My family is from Mississippi and they have rust issues of their own in the southeast. Not from salt, but from the INSANE humidity. My other side of the family is from Texas and not nearly the rust issue there. I watch a lot of Matt's Offroad recovery and Fab Rats Garage and I'm insanely jealous of their lack of rusty old junk...🤣 Keep the videos coming guys! 👍👍
Nice little project, I’ll have to make one now. I like to practice welding old bolts and nuts and other hardware together into little sculptures for my buddies. It’s always fun using the ol hot glue gun.
That is what I got it and that is what I am referencing. Love that.. song? Story? Album? “.. all sorts of mean nasty ugly things and various implements of destruction”
Oh man. Ruby had a tough month. I blew a brake line and when I installed a replacement I must have dislodged a bit of debris upstream which got lodged in the new line, so no rear brakes. Then I blew the tires on my 4.0 WJ which at the time I had to daily because my mother needed the Subaru and sRudy had the aforementioned brake issue, so the 4.0 got Ruby’s tires until I can fix the brakes and buy new tires. Poor girl has been like that on stands and blocks for a month 🙄
@@DEInTheGarage wow that's rough! 🤦♂Hope ruby is up and runnin soon. Love the channel and especially the wj content. Can't wait for the next u-pull too
I don't understand why you'd make your welder holder out of conductive material. Wouldn't that risk shorting between the stinger and the clamp? I'd wanna keep those two electrically isolated and separated spacially... Unless I'm completely misunderstanding the point of this rig... which seems likely, because all your other videos made sense to me. ... but not this one...
@@gmtech26358 but if you bump the pedal, or drop something on it, or there's an intermittent short in your trigger, BZZZZTTTTT!!! Then your stinger and clamp are welded together, and your welder coils overheat and catch on fire. I've tried that "catching on fire" thing a few times, and didn't like it much. Smells funny. Kinda itchy, too.
I’m going to make that.
This man terminology is just so relatable😂
That's a cool project. Thanks for the idea.

Jude is stunned.
Coming from a culinary background i didnt expect to hear mise en place in a welding video 😂
Perfect timing! Just picked up a flux core machine off Facebook marketplace, trying to get into some light welding.
Fishing pole holder 😮 damit lol
The phrase, "Implements of Destruction" always makes me think of Arlo Guthrie and Alice's Restaurant, lol.

It was a case of American blind justice.
Big Tip: Never ground through something with threads as it will weld the threads 👍
Nicely done Douglas.👍👍
why is the end nozzle missing from your mig gun? hello?
Good to see a video from you guys its been awhile. How is Eric
i like copenhagen and stokers haha :)
Hey man what's going on with ruby on jackstands? Love the ingenious welding project too 👍👍👍

Why has your torch not got the nozzle on it you get better welds
I was welding with fluxcore not solid wire and gas
It is a welder golder

You are missing the pojnt
@@DEInTheGarage I know.
@@LordMondegrene I was thinking same thing, A Holder out of conductive Material. I'm missing the point also, I guess ?
It's just made to hold your torch it when you're *not* using it. The ground clamp connection is just a secondary benefit for thick materials.

I almost wore that same shirt today. Glad I didn't. That would have been embarrassing!
