Change the plugs gap in or out, that might clean-up the exhaust. Or this!! I had the same thing last year with my bike and decided to try the Pulstar plugs. They cleared-up the exhaust, better mpg's and more HP and Torque. And it sounds fantastic. Great pipes on your ride and they sound Right-On!!
I know it's old post, but I absolutely love the rumble. Sounds like my 650 horse small block. I just picked up a 14 glide and the stockers gotta go. Hope I get the exact same sound. Looking up part #s now. Live in the Northeast, so im looking to do it over the winter.
I got all my stuff from Eastern Performance Cycles out of Maryland via ebay. At the time, they had the best price with free shipping. You won't regret the setup.
Looks and sounds deadly, HoboCoastie. I dig it. Looking into the same setup for my 2010 Road King Classic, but with my 96. Hopefully the smaller engine won't mean any lost sound compared to your 103. Thanks for posting.
Sam, Thanks for the comments. You won't be disappointed. It's not going to matter that it's a 96. It'll still sound awesome. Sweet Road King by the way.
I put the Power Commander 5 on at the same time and selected one of their canned maps that closely matched my setup. If you are just doing exhaust with stock intake, you should be fine.
Hi Hobocastie, im planning to get a new road king classic, since im planning to change the stock exhaust to vance and hines could you please tell me which one i should get: -the high output duals with power duals -the monster rounds with power duals or simply the big shot duals. i want maximum noise and performance..... im kind of confused cause im new to the Harley world, have been saving a while to get here :) Thanks for your advices.
wassim406 Max performance for touring (from V&H) comes from this set-up (Power Duals and HO Slip-Ons). It isn't the loudest, but IMO, they sound the best. My bro and I used to hit the tunnels in Hampton Roads and he said my bike sounded like a Corvette. Super deep note with balls.
They used to have a 2 into 1 (Pro Pipe I think it was called). It was essentially the same thing with one H.O. slip-on on just the right side of the bike. I wanted slip-ons on both sides.
Does this bike have the 103? I like the 2 into 1 into 2... I believe it helps performance, I could be wrong. I love the way it sounds on this bike, very "race ready" sounding. One question, are u 100% happy with this set up?
Yes, it's the 103. I am 100% pleased with this setup. In coordination with the Power Commander V, this bike has really come alive compared to stock. I have also enabled the RevExtend feature to bump my fuel cutoff from 5500 to 6200 RPM. The bike has a very deep throaty sound. One of my buddies says it sounds like a pissed off Corvette. If I ever trade my bike, I'll probably go with the same setup. Very happy.
Thanks for this comment. I was wondering how it was on long trips. My old Vance&Hines setup on my Softail Custom was the same, great sound without killing ya on long trips. That's exactly what I'm looking for with my Ultra Classic.

Great pipes on your ride and they sound Right-On!!
just bought a 2013 road glide 103 with this set up on it......AWESOME I had rinehart tru dual on my last one....no comparison
Yes. The deep note really makes it stand out. My buddy used to say that in the Hampton Roads tunnels, my bike sounded like a pissed off Corvette.
have the same setup. The left pipe will always be the smoker and condensation pipe as the bike leans left

I HAVE THE SAME ON MY BIKE AND LOVE THEM
Awesome 👌
Do you have a video of the 4 or 4.5 v&h Hi Outputs without baffles in them? I’m very curious to hear that
No, I'm sorry.
Does it seem like the left side pipe gets hotter
Why does more exhaust seem to come from the left pipe?
I'm not sure. You notice it did it with the stock exhaust too? No clue why, but a friend has the same V&H setup I do and its the same way.
SoCalFlya sdo
Did you have to have the bike retuned?

Sounds bad ass man, can you still hear the radio? Thinking about doing this on my bike but I take long trips on it
Warmachine762 Yep, I could hear it just fine.
This exhaust is not overly loud, so long trips you'll be fine. It's deep and throaty.

The second one.
They are not true duals. Just that simply.
The before pipes Sounds like s***
America's most powerful exhaust. Period.
