That's great! I think it takes being on the outside to have that objective look at how schools are not great for many (probably most) of the design students that enroll.
I love the new way you aproach tutorials, shorter and concise, and you keep attention of people better this way. Keep up the good work! I really admire your work and follow your channel for a some times like 2 years. PS. Lobster 2.0 is one of my favourite fonts :)
Ahhhhh Nathan man, where were you 7 years ago when I was just starting out? Thank you for imparting and sharing your knowledge with us all. Every tutorial is perfectly produced and simple to follow. You answer the questions just as I think to ask them. I forgot halfway through it was a design tutorial- this was just beautiful to watch! Period! Thank you so much! 8:15 = pure satisfaction!
Strangely, I have a soft spot for *Georgia* It's my favourite serif font. It's the numbers that drop below the baseline that really cemented it for me. A little quirkiness in a really clean, beautiful font.
That's because the strokes of the numbers that drop below the baseline and the strokes that go above the x height give the appearance of descenders and ascenders in lower case letters.
Well, it was an absolute amazing video.... Where other designers struggle to give 2-3 (unique) tips, I gotta whole bunch of 10 tips, are definitely gonna help me out in design making. Thank You so much @tutvid
This is an incredible tutorial. WOW. Thank you for this knowledge, because it is such a beautiful formula of working with fonts! It makes complete sense!
“Garamond” is the gold standard font for me. It’s clean and professional on screen, yet, still has character, and it’s soft on the eyes, a joy to read, when printed on paper.
What a great tutorial, you always impress me Nate! You provided some really valuable methods and suggestions and delivered it in a really great way, as always.....
Congratulation on dropping the hottest video on Fonts ever. I think every designer who deals with fonts, from Web, Branding, Architecture etc. will be referencing this video for their whole career.!
The struggle to talk slowly is epic ....reminds me a bit of a Dutch dude who is my other source for great adobe tutorials. ....merry christmas and a happy new year Nathaniel
man this is awesome , i am getting issues while giving space between logo and side text/bottom text with golden ratio , how to determine golden ratio space between logo and text? please make a video on it...
Great video, and thanks for the great tips! My favorite text to work with are usually Helvetica, or sans serif. I also like very bold text like Impact as well.

I like to pair that with Papyrus.
Maybe I should do a video and take suggestions on the ten WORST font combinations, haha
ah, I see you're a man of culture as well.
@@tutvid there is no such a thing as 10 worst. there are infinite worst :)))
@@tutvid yeayeah please
I never went to college for anything related to graphic design. Learned it all on my own and I'm glad I did
That's great! I think it takes being on the outside to have that objective look at how schools are not great for many (probably most) of the design students that enroll.
What resources did you take? Quite curious
Same
how long did it take you to learn typography. ??

Georgia is nice. I dig a little Georgia here and there when it works for me. Quirkiness is good!
That's because the strokes of the numbers that drop below the baseline and the strokes that go above the x height give the appearance of descenders and ascenders in lower case letters.
This is so helpful for my studies, thank you. Type is always my weakness when it comes to graphic design.
Glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks! 👌
Me too

That's really interesting how you used the Fibonacci sequence to figure out the sizing of text. I have never heard that before, but it looks great!
It's a nice little trick!

The video we wanted, and the video we deserved.
Haha, thanks, bro!
Would you use a Script Font casual on the first letter of the name and the rest of the name is in Sans-Serit Font bold?
Super amazing video sir...
Super informative...
Thank you
Josefin is my favorite right now. For that thin classy look.
Oooh, yeah. Josefin is a good one.
I just LIKE the concluding statement: creative minds like to take the road less travelled👍
Does that x1.618 really help? I mean if you just pick your own size in the end (multiple it more than once) It seems unnecessary.
Besides, a lot of fonts don't follow the same proportion, eg: some font at 30 pt are quite small while some others at the same size are quite big...
i think it's only for the ratio that will looks good on eye
great tips as always
Thanks, man!
You're going to have to show us how you created this video. loving the write on screen effect.
I'll do a tutorial!
Thanks for the videos! its really helpful. I would like to know if it's possible, which Mic you are using? is really a good crunchy voice! I would like to buy one to use it for my videos! Thanks, God bless you!
