At 73 if my wife lets me get another motorcycle I will surely try to come to this great run 🦅🇺🇸🦅 my first real motorcycle was my 37 Indian scout 😃🦅🇺🇸🦅🏍. Yes it only cost me 50 dollars I was 14 years old then had to hide it from my mother and father . It’s all about the ride 🦅🇺🇸🦅🏍
I am 44 old, and riding a motocycles almost 30 years. Thats what riding a motorcycle is all about. All the friends and all the love, amg i get goosebumps. And it wouldn't be a life time experience if would be easy. Thanks for sharing. Love from SLOVENIA.
We followed the 2018 Cannonball from start to finish in a 1984 VW Hippy Van. This video really captures the essence of this 17 day endurance run. Every morning the motorcycle museum takes off for a 250 to 300 mile ride. Every afternoon there's a reception where the rolling museum is on display. Every evening it's maintenance and repair so they can start all over the next morning. The holy grail of antique motorcycle adventure with a phenomenal cast.
@Abu Dabu The entry fee is the least of the expense. First, you must have a basically unmodified 1929 or earlier motorcycle (very expensive). The money to pay for a support team following you with tools, spare parts, mechanics. Paying for all of that, the gas, the hotel, the meals, insurance, etc. Being able to take time off from work, if you are still working. I am sure there are other associated costs as well.
While I can’t afford these amazing machines I’m glad to see those who carry the legacy of these bikes keep them from collecting dust. I would love to just ride next to these guys with my 74 Ironhead XLCH, I know it’s for 1930 and before but I think most would just like seeing an 18 year old out on an old bike carrying on a tradition.
This is an epic ride ,I know a couple that back in the summer of 1974 rode to Long Beach California from Whitewater Wisconsin,2 up on a 1948 125cc Harley that was epic too , until I saw this video I didn’t know anyone else would be crazy enough to try this
Just amazing watching these guys ride across the country on the old bikes true bikers, I have friends on brand new motorcycles that won’t take this journey, way to go guys
I've done endurance riding but never on something this old. Less than 1% of viewers stopped to give it a thumbs up - seems pitiful. Great photography and great editing. I really don't understand who would give it a thumbs down except perhaps a non-rider who was expecting something else. Thanks for a great video.
Even a non rider can appreciate the effort. Your point still stands. This was super fun to watch. And it's how dreams start. I was in a foul mood before it and now I'm not.
I have a newer model Indian Chief Vintage... my dream is to own an older model Indian... but I'd love to follow you guys on this epic journey! I don't care if you'd say yes or no... I'd just go anyway.... just for fun and the adventure! You guys rock!
Welcome to my part of the World Danny. I get to ride these roads and work in these towns every day. Next time your passing through, we can show you some sights! Stay safe!
Wow, I have never seen such an avent. Those bikes are amazing travelling so far. I just cannot believe they would even attemp it on those old engines, But you did. The sound of those old motors thumping along was great. Im British and the only thing i would of wished for is you filmed some Brit bikes running also. But was great. Thanx.
I remember the movie Gumball Rally with the motor cycle rider. This is really great to see all the old bikes on the road. Need some head cam shots. Old school keep it going!
great video captures the atmosphere of the event perfectly. including the mishaps. i wish we had a long distance endurance event in uk. good on you , bikes were made to ride and you certainly do that in the USA in fine style.I also like how the bikes are allowed to show their age and are not over polished and bullshitted up like many so called enthusiasts machines are theses days.Great old chap that determined to ride with his broken shoulder I take my hat of to him .In UK rain seems to deter most riders and most dont know how to change a tyre nver mind strip the engine. where have all the true riders gone? It seems they are in the USA.Another thing I noticed is the bikes sound like bikes not like these modern fizz boxes.
This is awesome to watch. A real challenge just to get through the day. I've done 8 Cannonball Bike Runs, but not these original ones. The ones on modern bikes.
Love the ski jumping position at 14:46 , have done that myself on my '29 FN (even if I don't know if it had any effect... but it was fun). And such a great run, and a whole hour to watch - wow. Wish I could have been there, meeting all those wonderful people on their bikes.
Thank you for making this it is one of the best things I have watched during this Covid Lockdown and I will share it with my Motorcycle friends as well.
Amazing how these old machines ever survived the century when they literally self destruct when you actually ride them. People today would have thrown them in the trash. Whole different breed of people back then. People today still think a fuel injected Harley is unreliable 🤦♂️. They don’t even know what unreliable even means 😂
Did I see there a F-Head-Bobber at 27:40? A black Harley with an ioe-engine, a fat rear tire and a light chopped rear fender I've seen there. And sorry, thanks for posting this video! Ten years ago I sold my 500cc-Norton of 1937, but this machine was been a modern day bike compared to these delicious sounding beauties here. How many miles did they ride at all, how long was the whole distance of this rallye? Greets from North Western Germany
Great video. NO music, NO commentary. Just sights and sounds and awesome backdrops (especially @ 28:14 & 36:39)
The sounds of these motors give me goose bumps. They are as distinct as the radial engines of WWII and I just love it. What a note. What a melody.

Superbly well done. Hats off to the Ironass riders

Love from SLOVENIA.
I love that this event exists. Granted, I want absolutely no part of doing it myself, but I love watching it.
I love it,real motorcycles.

With these bikes, it's all about the ride and not the destination.👍
The sound of the antique bikes is intoxicating. I only wish I could afford to do this ride just once. Great video, great people, great bikes!

Very well said indeed, a bucket list item for sure.
@@ibdaffy they probably have at least 20 grand in spare parts too

It would be an experience of a lifetime plus bragging rights of saying you've done it.What a great memory you would all share.
That was awesome. The Cannonball is always amazing but this is the best depiction of it that I have seen. Thank you all
Wonderful video and a reminder that we truly do live in a beautiful country full of friendly people.
This is an epic ride ,I know a couple that back in the summer of 1974 rode to Long Beach California from Whitewater Wisconsin,2 up on a 1948 125cc Harley that was epic too , until I saw this video I didn’t know anyone else would be crazy enough to try this

My grandfather was leslie parkhurst
Great to see these old bikes like this on the road. Met a guy in Sturgis in 1979 that had ridden an old single cylinder belt drive from New York
I didn't want this ride to end
Awesome motorcycle and cool people... Hell yeah godspeed fellas 🤘🤘🤘
Wahnsinn.Coole very old classic bikes and crazy people.Greetings from germany.

Beautifull countryland. Beautifull adventurous people. What a duet! AMERICA is what it is, not because... I JUST GAVE YOU THE ANSWER TO "WHY"
Those magnificent men on their two wheel machines.

i love the sound from the bike...
Thumbs up to the riders, 3wow so cool love it these guys and girls are true biker and riders. Nice work on the filming, as well.
RIP Dale. When you leave your foot prints in the sands of time...make sure that you have your work boots on. Dale Walksler.
So much respect for you guys specially the man riding with a sling.
Fantastic!!! Beautiful bikes, beautiful country and interesting people.
Even though I knew the guy was going to propose, it still gave me the chills!
The love and affection and knowledge is absolutely incredible !!!
Welcome to my part of the World Danny. I get to ride these roads and work in these towns every day. Next time your passing through, we can show you some sights! Stay safe!

I've done 8 Cannonball Bike Runs, but not these original ones.
The ones on modern bikes.
The sound alone is reason enough
So amazing, now I have a new goal 🤙
Bill and Ted's excellent cannonball.*
Damn it is in my bucket list 😳 wowww hunting older 1929 motorcycle to join .yeahhh
Beautiful Bikes!!
Considering the state of the roads when these bikes were built they must be loving this ride.
Museum pieces doing a cannonball is more challenging than the scooter cannonball ( 50cc-250) movie it's Not A Race that my friends did😁👍
Now that is something you don't see every day 👍
Some great old bikes still running the dream! And blowing a 4 way stop at (11:30)
Man, how l would love the opportunity to do this!
EPIC!!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Wow! What a ride on that old beautiful bikes! Thanks for sharing this.
Great video, thanks for posting

These bikes almost like predacesors to motorcycles, hard 2 relate to them but it was a neat video to watch.
Iron men with iron butts, much respect to all!
Excellent. Thanks
Thank you for making this it is one of the best things I have watched during this Covid Lockdown and I will share it with my Motorcycle friends as well.
agreed brother...this was a real gem to be able to enjoy in the midst of a chaotic time.
Vintage nostalgia cycles rule.Sounds and sights ace.Top riders all round. Many thanks everyone.

We need one of these with today's bikes. Bangor, Me. to San Diego,Ca. Non stop. only for gas and repairs. LETS DO IT !!!.
4hp is amazing to ride across the country. ❤️❤️❤️
People ride around the world on bicycles. They even do it again and again. They don't take a flight home, like these people. Just say'in.
@@BEEBEE159 lol, l kinda doubt many of these guys flew home. Maybe a van or camper
Awesome!!!!
Need to get a ride up like this for Iron Head Sportsters.
Great seeing Doc and his daughter on the run... Go Wisconsin!
