You know it's the weekend , when you wake up, get a coffee and watch me some NDYakAngler action! Great video as always, thanks for taking us city slickers out with you.
That was fun to watch , and very motivating, thanks for taking us along, sorry about the thumb, us guys just do stupid things sometimes. ...I did that to myself so well, but got two fingers totally inside door jam , had to open with other hand!!
Matt, what a showman. Starts off with low expectations, having fished a few hours with no success, wind working against him, and oh yes, mashed my thumb in the truck door. But still, he scores some nice bass. I hope you double your subscriber base.
It’s amazing how one nice topwater fish makes those thoughts of leaving disappear! Instead it turns into several more hours on the water! I did catch one nice one in the morning on Freddy the frog, but it took a few hours to find that one bite and by then my camera discipline was starting to fade so I was looking away when the fish hit.
The fact that this guy can post a video almost every week where he catches at least one biggin - usually more than one - shows how good of a fisherman he is. Thanks for the video Matt!
Frog fishing is the best. Even if you can't bring all the fish to the net, just seeing them blow up through those lily pads is such a thrill. Thanks for sharing you day with us.
Just want to say thanks! Saw your videos pop up in my feed and have been watching them religiously ever since! You inspired me to get my dads old fishing gear out , "borrow" the family kayak my sister never used, and go out fishing! Its been about a month and Ive had a lot of fun, its a really rewarding hobby, especially for a great cook lol. I always found fishing from the shore a bit boring, and fishing from a boat is a big investment, but a kayak is perfect, and lets you get places a boat couldn't go! Caught my PB today with a 110 loon plopper, a 16.5in largemouth!, also got a 15 a little before that. As a kid I had only fished with bait and a bobber, but I learned from these videos just how fun and engaging topwater fishing can be. really changed my whole perception of the sport.
Matt was in the soup today! What an awesome bass habitat. I've learned more watching Matt's videos than any other fishing channel. His casting is legendary.
I wish I could be as calm as you when wind is blowing me around in my yak. It frustrates me so much. Wind is the most annoying thing to me when fishing. Great video! Nice bass! Cant wait for the next one.
Get a pedal drive kayak, the paddle catches a lot of wind. Since I went to a slayer max I can stay out on the River when the paddle kayaks are forced in 😮
Nothing could be cooler than after a hard days graft my you tube pal Matt gets it sorted with some rod bending fish which is just the Tonic I need Utterly fantastic What a channel I’ve never been disappointed Thanks my friend 👍🏼🎣✅
A phrase from a true fisherman I only NEED to catch ONE more BIG ONE!!! And it is truly a need. Love your videos, Keep it up you keep on filming and I’ll keep on watching. …late…
I just got home from work, and there is nothing better to see when I open up youtube after diving into the couch. Ty for that, good sir. Your videos are the finest RUclips has to offer
An ideal environment for largemouth bass with all those water lilies. When Saturday comes I’m looking forward to watching gorgeous videos like this one from NDYakAngler. Some of them have given me confidence to try new lures: yesterday I caught my first bass on a Savage Gear snake (black colour) that I ordered after watching the corresponding video on this channel. It was a decent 43 cm bass that was captured minutes after sunset under a gorgeous red cloudy sky and the sound of deer (mating time). A zen moment… Earlier in the afternoon I had already caught another even bigger bass (53 cm) on a wacky rig with a black Senko. Not my first fish with the wacky but it was Matt who inspired me in my beginnings with this rig. The same I can say about swimbaits: the Savage Gear 4 Play V2 has been quite a revelation to me (along with some cheap Chinese swimbaits) giving me big bass…in winter!
Thank you, Matt, that was the most relaxing and enjoyable time I've had all day! Anxiously awaiting your next video, sorry about your thumb, take care and be safe!
Nice looking lake there with some great pads for some froggin! St. Croix support did respond to my warranty claims on their reel supports coming unglued. They are coming out with a new version Nov 1st for the BassX rods and shipping me replacements. Hope they last. Happy with support's response to the issue! Frogs looked nice - ordered a couple to give them a try!
That’s good to hear! My old black and blue ones I’ve had for several years have held up great considering how much abuse they’ve taken, hopefully the new ones are built like those again.
Gotta love the largie hits on topwater. Even a 2 pounder will give ya a nice slam, then dragging em through the salad makes you think they're 5+ lol. Love largemouth!
Thanks for making another fun to watch video.😉 As many others have said, you’re absolutely the most enjoyable individual to watch. You’re relaxed and you’re just as bad making predictions whenever you say,” Now that looks fishy to me”, then come away empty from that cast. But, to your credit, you just keep on fishing.😊 Please keep up those excellent videos!❤
I get the Northland Reed-Runner Frog at my local Fleet Farm for only $7. I usually pick Mousey or Blackbird for a light or dark belly. They are just hanging there by a tag and people simply won't buy them.
I love it when I am froggin’ and the bass knocks it off the lily pad from underneath THEN eats it! It has only happened a few times, but wow was it cool!! That place looks like a frog fishing dream.
Great vid as always! Top water Chain Pickeral is my personal fav. No pike here unfortunately. But the pickeral are so ferocious and aggressive on the top water, more so than the SMB in my opinion. I've got 9 of them on the top water this year 24" or bigger. So exciting on the top water. When the water is calm and you get to see the wake from the giant pickeral going after the top water lure 5-10 feet from any angle is awesome. Waiting for the attack than setting the hook .More top water vids Good Sir! Best fishing vids on RUclips!!! Cheers
That fish might have seen the frog coming while it was still in the air! The other day I watched a smallie get all charged up and start circling beneath a patch of grass a couple dragonflies perched on. They're definitely aware of what's going on out of the water!
Yes sir I did I enjoyed it you caught some really nice large mouths hope to see many more videos like that that's pretty cool I love fishing with a frog basically anything topwater
Great adventure! I like frog fishing but find lily pad fieldsto be a daunting task. Thanks for showing possible hot spots where big bass lurk. As always, inspiring to see it can be done. You make it look easy 👏👏👍
Turning 30s, and looking for another hobby to fulfill my life, and there you go. Really good quality video, I found peace by watching your video. Probably gonna try fish myself soon.
Wind is a common problem in my neck of the woods. Not just a breeze either, 15-20mph standard with frequent days 25mph and beyond. You fish when you can, you fly a kite the rest of the time
I was actually tossing a Westin Freddy frog out there that morning! I got one really nice bass on it but I was looking away when it hit or else I would have added it at the start.
I don't usually get to start MY weekend with any fishing videos. I'm usually out fishing my almost dead (fishing wise) 6 1/2 acre pond. (Mis-managed by an HOA and whatever company they decided to hire to "care for" the pond.) In the midst of some heavy and persistent rain from Ophelia! This helps!
Every time I go fishing I seem to find a way to ding my body. My mind just forgets about everything but the fish. Its like Homer Simpson with food, "Fissssssh"
I was just out yesterday on my Old Town 136 at a place called lake Alice located near oak orchard creek in Orleans county NY. I found three great spots covered with green weeds and algae. Tossed my hollow frog several times and hooked into three very large bass. But for some reason after a few seconds, they come off. How are you keeping your frog and or hooks tuned to help stop that issue? Very frustrating.
I assume you’re using heavy braid, like 30lb or better, right? I’ve heard of guys trying to frog fish with lesser strength mono line and mono just has too much stretch for good hook penetration. It kind of sounds like maybe you’re sticking them but not getting the hook in past the barb where it will be easy to shake out. That’s just my first guess. If you’re using gear up to the task and setting the hook good and hard I’d maybe wait just a bit longer to set the hook and see if that works. Usually they’ll inhale the frog here where I instantly set the hook but sometimes they bite a little weird where I’m better off waiting a second.
@@ndyakangler I am using 20 pound braid with a 15 Pound Floro leader. That seems to be my problem I am thinking. Perhaps I should just go straight braid and see how it fairs.
In the last of your video's I watched I was intending to ask if you had any of the weed skipper type lures and here you are with the frog. Im currently 3D scanning some of my lures in order to 3D print some and 3D print some molds for soft plastics, it should save me quite a bit of money and be lots of fun too.
Beautiful title to wake up to

No, actually, I was fishing myself on the weekend
So trur
It's a good weekend when you go fishing instead of watching fishing.
Matt, what a showman. Starts off with low expectations, having fished a few hours with no success, wind working against him, and oh yes, mashed my thumb in the truck door. But still, he scores some nice bass. I hope you double your subscriber base.

Thanks for the video Matt!
I also like the fact that it feels like "realistic" fishing. Like the guy is losing a few fishes and not everything is perfect. I like that a lot.
Skeletor park woooo
That little music note at 13:30 gets my heart POUNDING when I get a good fish on.
Frog fishing is the best. Even if you can't bring all the fish to the net, just seeing them blow up through those lily pads is such a thrill. Thanks for sharing you day with us.
That “Please please please please please”. I felt that in my soul. 😅
Love the top water strikes around pads.😮

This with morning coffee is a good start to a rainy Saturday!!
Matt was in the soup today! What an awesome bass habitat. I've learned more watching Matt's videos than any other fishing channel. His casting is legendary.
I never fishbut i do love it, get too busy with everything else . Watch your videos all the time, im getting back out there soon. Thanks
What a way to start the weekend. A new video from one of the coolest fishernmen.
Nice fun day to fish. Thanks for bringing us along. Don’t forget to pull in your digits before closing the door.

Can never go wrong with topwater action, keep up the content! 🔥
Top water action is so satisfying ! Love throwing the frog around during this time of year ! Amazing scenery what a beautiful lake
Nothing could be cooler than after a hard days graft my you tube pal Matt gets it sorted with some rod bending fish which is just the Tonic I need
Utterly fantastic
What a channel I’ve never been disappointed

Love your videos,
Keep it up you keep on filming and I’ll keep on watching.

Another awesome adventure for my morning coffee! Thanks for sharing!
This is the best fishing channel. Look forward to it every Saturday!!
I always hit the like button before I watch the video with a cup of coffee. Such is the awesomeness of NDYakAngler!
I just got home from work, and there is nothing better to see when I open up youtube after diving into the couch. Ty for that, good sir. Your videos are the finest RUclips has to offer

just perfect spots for frogging!
You have just proven that you can do frog fishing on a 6'"6" rod 😊 thanks lovely video 👍

You got some big fish lakes in ND! That is fantastic watch this rainy Saturday morning
Thank you, Matt, that was the most relaxing and enjoyable time I've had all day! Anxiously awaiting your next video, sorry about your thumb, take care and be safe!
Great job as always! You caught some beautiful fish 🎣! Thanks for sharing and taking me along.
Yep...a frog fishing video goes great with Saturday coffee. Good call switching to target the pads and pockets. Beautiful day on the water

Beaver trails often hold fish, since they dig it down and clear all vegetation for a speedy get away from predators.
Thanks for making another fun to watch video.😉

They seem to be selling at my local Fleet Farm. Several colors were sold out or getting low.
Amazing video! Always a pleasure to see you during fishing ✌🏻
I hit the like button before i`ve even seen the vid. One can always trust on your quality!
This guy is the Bob Ross of fishing.
Nice trip. Thanks again for sharing. I really enjoy your videos
Love your fishing on those lily pads! Great video! Keep it up!

Awesome video as always. At 13:20 it looks like you literally casted the frog into it's mouth, it slurped it so quick!

awesome stuff Mr BassMang ! ! ! !
see ya next time 👋🤓
Love your stuff amigo…
Always a great day when you post brother! Great fish and great video!

Another fantastic video!
Turning 30s, and looking for another hobby to fulfill my life, and there you go. Really good quality video, I found peace by watching your video. Probably gonna try fish myself soon.
Gorgeous bass
I think my favorite part is when you let the fish down and they swim away. Fun to see which swim away fast or slowly.
Watching my Saturday morning ritual.
Wind is a common problem in my neck of the woods. Not just a breeze either, 15-20mph standard with frequent days 25mph and beyond. You fish when you can, you fly a kite the rest of the time
Would rather have that weather today. Its cold, rainy, and windy over on Vermilion this weekend
Nothing better than that!! Frogging for bass in lily pads!!
This channel never disappoints
it's so cozy to glide around on a small body of water like that for some reason. feels kind of freeing
Great video as always Matt, Frog works ok here where I live in Sweden, but the Westin swim hollow body works great.
I was actually tossing a Westin Freddy frog out there that morning! I got one really nice bass on it but I was looking away when it hit or else I would have added it at the start.
Some stunning fish there mate👍🏻💪🏻
Another awesome video well done
Matt you rock! Love the channel and content. Peace
Getting to be prime muskie time, Matt!
This just reminded me of my first frog bass, frogging is so fun!
I’m still looking forward to seeing the video of you catching the catfish you caught this week Matt.
thought we missed ya this week. happy to see ya produced this week
I always watch your videos, excellent content, congratulations
Beautiful place man wish we had places like that in ga
Good ol topwater action baby!
All the lily pads around here are quickly disappearing. I'm sure there's still frog fishing available, but it's dwindling fast. Happy fall!
The $2 walmart frog will always be my favorite frog for fishing.
Love these videos bro, thanks.
Casting is another level 😀
Started off slow but end of day was solid, nice frog top water action.
9:35 pretty flowers
I usually plan my lake by the wind. So i use the wind. Sorry about the thumb. I find compared to most lures my hook up in a frog is maybe 20%less.
I do the same. This is about the only lake I’d have been able to hit with the forecast for this day.
@@ndyakangler still...a bad day of fishing is a good day 🙂

This is a beautiful place. Would love to know where it is. If you don't want to give up the exact lake just the general area.
Every time I go fishing I seem to find a way to ding my body. My mind just forgets about everything but the fish. Its like Homer Simpson with food, "Fissssssh"
Great video thanks 😎
I love fishing with a frog. But I seem to have a hard time hooking them good as well. Another entertaining video!
You have to let them take it a couple seconds because instinct say set the hook! Lol
@@English_MoFo maybe that's my problem.
I also slammed my finger in the car door this morning 😂 glad I’m not alone lol
Me looking at that beautiful day and my house is soaked 😢😂
Turn out a paperclip and heat it up, burn through the nail surface until you get to the blood, it will relieve the pressure.
Great video once again - love that frog.
That lake looks sooo froggy!
Patterns Matter! Thanks once again! ♥
Thank you for this!!!
Deer entrances are often productive spots half a world away, here in Europe.
Great video, as usual!
I love your vids
Curious about those Northland frogs, if their hooks are always straight....i hate frogs with crooked hooks
Awesome!
