I'm a prog/fusion player. I love watching this guy and listening to him. There's no one else like him. He is the rockabilly rogue scholar. He's incredible.
My dad loves this song so much. As an amateur musician, that guitar he has is insanely difficult to learn, and I think he was the only one who ever really used it. Regardless, the song sounds great! A classic of the genre for sure.
I will make some enemies here, I am not a fan of country music, especially the singing, but damn this guy can play guitar like few can!! Amazing entertainer too.
Wow, this is absolutely amazing. I live in Queens right now born & raised outside of Dallas in Arlington. How did you get the pleasure of working on his Guit-Steel?!
@@kindkidbk I was working at electric lady studios in NYC,,, he was there recording.. I used to build guitars and worked as a roady for skid row on the bonjovi tour back in the day..I knew eddy Van Halans guitar tech so it sort of happened through those channels.. Jr, was very gracious and appreciated my careful work..(i had a reputation). It was great getting to see him up close at a show..really impressive.
I absolutely love this song. I have to look it up every now and then to bring me back to life. I love singing this to my horses while we're getting our evening feeding done
When it comes to country music lyrics few phrases match the movement of country instruments and the baritone voice of the lead singer like "broke down southa Dallas". Poetry.
@Betsy Kallmeyer - He's still touring in 2019 - I just saw him in mid-July in Minneapolis and he was incredible!! It was a shame there were only a couple hundred in the audience. They went wild for every song! Junior is a rare and phenomenal talent.
Betsy, I saw in November '19...….Tanya was on rhythm guitar and they were really tight...….and entertaining. We chatted with Junior after the show and he mentioned, someone had stole his other "guit steel" about six weeks earlier and it had not recovered by November.
Wonderful talent I grew up on Hank Thompson and they were great together. The Guit Steele is cool he is a very talented guy person … Wish hed come back to LA
