like the features, setup was difficult for some of my devices (August Door lock, ruclips.net/user/postUgkxhB5YOMNj04GuoAosExygP4cH-dKeb4aB Bose speaker)... but all switches and outlets (5), thermostat, tankless water heater. Unfortunately all I can do is turn on/off Bose. It doesn't support volume or changing channels, but I believe that is due to the particular speaker I have.... Worth getting if you already have other devices to use it with... I don't sit around and ask Alexa questions much so that doesn't really matter to me....

We've had Alexa in our house for about a month now and I have to say it is surprisingly good. I was a bit skeptical to start with but the more you use it the better it becomes. Highly recommended

I am enjoying alexa, especially the music but I want to set up my coffeemaker to have her turn it on when I ask. I have the proper plug and hooked it all up but she does not recognize it. Any tips?
What kind of plug is it? What echo device do you have? Do you have a hub to communicate between your plug and echo? If you have the dot you will need a smarthub because the dot can't communicate with smart devices directly

Thanks for the help. But if you set it up with your phone app and you leave the house with phone, will it still play music when you leave. Wanted to play music when I am gone for my dog. He needs calming music when by himself.

What you do to turn it back on is you don’t go back to the app you plug your wire in and wait for the light to stop and then you say. Alex play music or whatever

I'm not sure what you mean by it's own wifi. It connects to your wireless router just like any other device. As far as connect to your tv it all depends on your setup. I have a Samsung smart TV and with my Samsung smartthings hub I can control my tv through my echo device. You would have to have a smart TV that's compatible, smart hub (smartthings) and an echo device for this to work.

It's a pity that as soon as my phone screen goes off alexa stops and only answers when I press home button on my phone which is very annoying.

I have so many Alexa devices I can't count them all. I just got a microwave with built in Alexa yesterday and I haven't used it yet. At least it came with a complete user's manual and I won't have to go online to figure out how to use it, but it will require some deep reading.

I have a question. When you first set up your Alexa app, there is a screen that says "Help Alexa get to know you." It will prompt you to select either"I'm someone else" or "I'm [your name]." I have one that says "I'm Garrett" but i made four that say that, by mistake. Is there any way to delete those?

Setup was bit bit wonky. Went well until I tried setting up the WIFI. Then it had me select the Amazon WIFI(on the Echo Dot) for the WIFI settings on my tablet. That went ok, but when I went back to the Alexa app it failed to complete. Shut down the app and restarted setup, and this time the tablet automatically connected and everything finally completed. It seems that trying to open settings while in the Alexa app screwed up something but if it connected to the Dot's WIFI from remembering it, it works well.I would much prefer setting up the Dot with voice than using an app(which requires another device to be available) That would make it possible to set it up and use it stand alone.

Hi there can anyone help please? The day my Alexa alarm went on and In the dark a pressed the button to put off . Now when I ask Alexa to set the alarm only the lights turn on and not sound. I have already put the volume to the max and the button mute isn’t on.

(Probably where the telly come from). She needs a new phone, sim, contract, and Amazon account to get the fuckin weather. She`d be better looking oot the window. Merry fuckin christmas.

Put your bluetooth device in pairing mode, open the alexa app(you have to download it). Select the devices and select echo alexa, then your voice. Select bluetooth devices and then pair a new device. I hope this helped

Edit: I figured out why. You MUST use the cord that came with alexa. I was using a different cord and that's why it wouldn't sync.
