There are multiple cells in the battery. They have to be charged and discharged equally if they go out of balance it will mess with the battery. I learned a lot about lithium batteries with my rc cars. One actually swolled up and cought on fire from not being balance charged.
Those are lithium polymer batteries. Lipo is much more dangerous and more unstable then lithium ion which is what these are. I had a few tv car batteries catch fire and swell it sucks. Ever since I started using tracks with the id I’ve been good though.
You figure Milwaukee comes up with a battery like makita where it shuts off when it knows the battery could be fully drained therefore preventing this issues. I enjoy my Milwaukee tools but with my makita I never had an issue
Replace the cover and check voltage on each parallel cells. You won't get all capacity if there is a lot of difference. Better to check on fully charged and discharged. If there's some difference after balancing and recharging then there is bad cells
Ive got a bran new , never used battery showing discharged flashing red , put on charger and it shows green on charger but its still dead any idea on this situation, i tried to jump the battery already it drained 2 bars from a fully charged 5.0 and still showing full discharge and showing full green on the charger, battery wont run anything
It works by bringing the voltage up to chargeable voltage if they fall to 15v or lower they won't charge
What a stupid design.

Yes...for me..I check when my batteries got 1bar not yet blinking I stop use the batteries and use another batteries..
With my 6.0 12volts I have to slow charge on my oldest charger I own for five minutes. Then plop them in the fast charger.

I did this with my 6.0 Hooked it up for 10 seconds and then threw it on the charger and its worked fine.
What would really save dough is a dc psu instead of possibly damaging another battery. The correct way is to balance charge each cell

My own is blinking one bar but shows green when I charge it but won't work on any tool except light and blower

Romex 12-2. I smashed the end with a hammer to make it a lil thinner
