That was a toxic series from both fanbases and Gazdic's comments reflected that. Elliotte Friedman made a great point. Kevin Bieksa has thick skin. He's a professional. He knows how to deal with the media and the fans in the right way. Not everyone is like that. Yes, some of the comments Luke got were over the line and embarrassing to me as a Canucks fan from people who wouldn't dare say those things to his face. When people find out I’m a Canucks fan I get hate on a lot. So resort to telling people I’m a fan of the sport and a fan of some teams. Don’t watch it for the team, watch it for the sport and the incredible things they do. Oilers are in the Stanley cup race now, they beat the Canucks, does this mean we hate on Edmonton, no we watch their games like any fan of the sport would and just to see what McDavid is going to pull off, is it going to be 45 assists in the series (I’m exaggerating here), or is it going to be the 4 game winning goals they need. As an Oiler fan living in BC, I know one thing for sure - the vast majority of Canuck fans are NOT hockey fans - they are just Canuck fans. The same can be said of Flame fans. If the Canucks or Flames are out of the playoffs, then those fans stop watching the playoffs! Yes, I hate the Flames, but if the Flames are the only Canadian Team left in the playoffs then I will support and cheer for them. I was living in AB at the time that the Flames won the Stanley Cup and I was cheering for them very vocally. This year, as the Oilers took out the Canucks, all Canuck fans have become Oilers haters! This is the reason why I have less respect for Canuck fans. Hopefully, in the next 5 years, when the Canucks get to the Final or win a Stanley Cup, then they may become more humble. Gadzic is a whelp. And to say the oilers dusted the canucks...if it wasnt for lopsided officiating in a couple games it might have been a canuck sweep. Both games 2 and 3 were terrible officiating. But any canucks fan knew game 2 was a loss as soon as the refs were announced. And they lost game 4 because our call up for the suspension in game 3 made a terrible play and the oilers scored the game winner on it.

When people find out I’m a Canucks fan I get hate on a lot. So resort to telling people I’m a fan of the sport and a fan of some teams. Don’t watch it for the team, watch it for the sport and the incredible things they do. Oilers are in the Stanley cup race now, they beat the Canucks, does this mean we hate on Edmonton, no we watch their games like any fan of the sport would and just to see what McDavid is going to pull off, is it going to be 45 assists in the series (I’m exaggerating here), or is it going to be the 4 game winning goals they need. Just enjoy the sport.

As an Oiler fan living in BC, I know one thing for sure - the vast majority of Canuck fans are NOT hockey fans - they are just Canuck fans. The same can be said of Flame fans. If the Canucks or Flames are out of the playoffs, then those fans stop watching the playoffs! Yes, I hate the Flames, but if the Flames are the only Canadian Team left in the playoffs then I will support and cheer for them. I was living in AB at the time that the Flames won the Stanley Cup and I was cheering for them very vocally.
This year, as the Oilers took out the Canucks, all Canuck fans have become Oilers haters! This is the reason why I have less respect for Canuck fans. Hopefully, in the next 5 years, when the Canucks get to the Final or win a Stanley Cup, then they may become more humble. I can't say I watch your show as much as I should, but the times that I do, I have NEVER heard either one of you actually supporting the Oilers. Nobody in any media supported or believed in the Oilers from the start of the season. If Toronto or Vancouver had a 16 game win streak, then an 8 game streak, the world would have hailed the second coming. There is so much hate for Edmonton, for Alberta and for the Oilers that its disgusting. The constant nonsense from idiots in comments is why I decided to always add some spice to the chat. We have great fans that truly understand the game. We also have world class trolls, and some complete assholes. If you barely understand the game, are only a casual fan (oh, look our boys won a game) or just exist to start trash, maybe pick on Calgary, or Dallas, or Cleveland because Canucks trolls are basically babies who are severely overmatched against the nastiness Edmonton has learned from all the battles with Ontario and Calgary. Gadzic is a whelp. And to say the oilers dusted the canucks...if it wasnt for lopsided officiating in a couple games it might have been a canuck sweep. Both games 2 and 3 were terrible officiating. But any canucks fan knew game 2 was a loss as soon as the refs were announced. And they lost game 4 because our call up for the suspension in game 3 made a terrible play and the oilers scored the game winner on it.

So I know how this is gonna sound like I’m just a mad Vancouver fan. I don’t do much on X I barely use it but I do see Edmonton’s fans posting all kinds of stuff that’s nasty and disparaging so come on everyone is like this. What I also see a lot of is CALGARY fans telling us Vancouver fans how much they hate Edmonton fans !
Now about Luke. I first saw this guy on Sportsnet doing commentary after games with the usual crowd of readers and what I saw was so unimpressive. I kept thinking why do they have this guy he seems so awkward and uninteresting. I knew nothing about him I didn’t know he was an ex-oiler until they mentioned it. But for two years or so I kept wondering why is he on TV ? I assumed he was some kind of DEI some kind of diversity hire, they were desperately trying to plug in to the network. I’m not joking about that I just didn’t see why this no talent guy was there.
