@@OnyxBlaster109 I await the fight with the corpse of King Minos or Earthmover (I fear the day Draedon makes an Exo Earthmover, he is already strong enough with his current Exo Mechs)
I love the idea of a nine layer hell, each level could be locked behind progression or it could be like the Sulfur sea and abyss in calamity mod where every floor gets harder and harder but the player can still go there. Each layer could offer class specific loot matching the stage of progress the player should be at. There could be another optional boss and mini bosses. Layer 9 could even be post moon lord and function as end game content. This would go so hard as a mod and even harder if it was in vanilla. Please red reconsider this idea!
Confection mentioned 🤩 (Concept creator and spriter here, lol). Alt biomes are imo the best way to "add" more progression without actually adding more progression. More major biomes would cramp up the world, so having one or the other would allow more content without the content bloat. Besides biome alts, I wish we got a falling moon boss. The moon has always been a source of danger in Terraria. Night time, blood moons, solar eclipses, pumpkin and frost moons.. just imagine you see "The Moon is falling!" as the moon rapidly approaches. Guess it just wasn't meant to be!
The moon could have fallen akin to Meteorites after like the celestial pillars were done, and when you reach it, out comes the moon lord boss amidst the cracked open "lunarite" shell.
Honestly I would LOVE for you to explore the moon as an alternate world, with its own progression Though, to be fair, you would need to put in a lot of work for that to be brought to its fullest potential
Starbound could have been so much more and i'm still to this day miffed at the peoples that forced its ruination into a game that the "Perfectly Generic Box" ended up a perfect Mascot to... 😭
It would still be the jungle but like it's version of how the desert has the Oasis just a small part that has water and maybe a gator boss is how I would see it work
I've always wanted some sort of desert boss. I found it unfair how we have 3 jungle bosses, 2 dungeon bosses, 2 hallow bosses, an evil biome boss, a snow biome boss, an ocean boss, and even a boss for the outer 5ths of the world. Relogic should totally just add like an antlion or scorpion boss, it would be really cool :)
Of all of these, I want the biome variants the most. I wonder how the confection would work, how it would generate and what it's enemies would be. I wonder what the eol counterpart would be. Same with the swamp, I can imagine how cool swamp generation would be, almost being similar to the sulphuric sea in calamity.
@@King_Rowlet I know, I have it. It's really cool. But at the same time, it's incomplete and not official. I meant what an offical confectionery biome would be. No shade towards the mod though.
imagine a crimson/corruption swamp with mosquito variants as "support enemies". their main focus not to outright end the player, but to make it easier for the other biome nasties. corruption applies a short-lived bleeding and or weak debuff, while the crimson variants apply a bleeding and or ichor debuff. honestly, they should make a Terraria 2 with a much larger world and a greater variety of biomes beyond alternates, the devs are quite passionate, but there is only so much you can add to the dated foundations before it crumbles in on itself. hope 1.4.5 is the actual final update for this reason.
Honestly I always thought a neat little "secret" area would be with space and gravitation potions, make some more use of the top layer of the world. Maybe like a few small moon biomes out in space with some neat loot, bosses, or even enemies. A place only really whilst accessible upside down and with the low gravity mechanics I always thought'd be cool.
I’ve always liked making small upside down houses high up in the world, but if we could actually put furniture down while using gravity control that would be so cool. You could make some pretty cool adventure maps with that too.
I'd love to see some of those "alien worlds" and "harder worlds" show up in secret seeds. I think that system might also be able to be modded to include some of the invasion upgrades too. Picture a seed modifier that makes the world permemently invaded by goblins, with prebuilt structures. The dungeon is a gob fortress, and so forth. Likewise, "deeper hell" sounds like a lovely modded secret seed. Honestly? The more I hear about things from the past, that didn't quite happen, the more that I say, yha, there could be a secret seed that does something like that. And if the engine is robust enough, if they don't maybe mods will.
Nha, that's just harder gameplay, it's not a harder world. A world with no trees, and only the underground structures for wood, until you get the dryad for acorns, that's a harder world.
I feel like the secret seeds is the "Alternate worlds" and the "seasons" are after you beat the Pumpkin Moon and Frost Moon events, though one for summer and spring would be cool too.
Oooo yeah! Maybe make one the focus on each class (kinda like how Pumpkin moon has the summoner stuff) would be pretty cool, plus could be a fun way to add new seasonal events
The traps idea reminded me of a super old thread on the terraria "traps to kill people." Monitors were so small back then that the tall trees extended off the top of the screen at most people's resolutions, so I would put a sand block on top of the tree, the torches, then more sand, etc. until you had a massive inverted sand pyramid up there. Chop down the tree... and you know the rest. Good times.
11:44 the tunnel could lead to an Atlantis temple with almost the same size as a mushroom biome, that could have new statues, new furniture, themed looting and structures made of basalt (new block)
i had an idea similar to the layered hell. after defeating moonlord, you could fall/swim through the lava at the bottom of the world and start at the bottom of a mirror of your original world except now the old bosses are your NPC's you get to move in and the old NPC's become new bosses.
That’d be so cool, like a new dimension that unlocks after moon lord where you start at the top of the world and work your way down by defeating bosses to unlock lower levels. Maybe new ore and special drops to farm as well
I think a hell update is long overdue. You have to visit every other part of the world multiple times throughout progression except for hell. You kill the wall after that there is basically nothing left to do.
In a weird way i kind of like that hell becomes the "safest" place in the world once you defeat the wall. Maybe it could get its own second 'phase' like the dungeon does after beating plantera. Maybe instead requiring golem being beaten or something.
I think expanding hell downward post moon lord is interesting. Making the oceans more relevant would be nice - like adding pirate island dungeon. Space and sky feel too empty. Possible counterpart to expanding hell is expanding space with floating asteroids and using a breath meter w/trinkets that help you breathe and add gravity on the asteroids.
volcano biomes would be cool as a sub-biome of hell that you could bring to the surface with ash grass in a similar fashion to mushroom biomes. Maybe there could even be a special npc like with the truffle that’s a demon of some sort
I'm surprised the ocean invasion event concept wasn't mentioned here, even if it was just an april fool's joke I've got a mini theory that duke's theme was originally supposed to be the invasion's theme, mostly just because i feel it fits more as that than it does as a boss theme lol ...though that's assuming they were really going to make a whole invasion event for a joke, so idk
There is a fan-made interpretation of the Candy biome called "The Confection", which I think is still in Beta. It includes things like Creamsand, Gummy Blocks and Souls of Delight. And then, I think the Terraria Overhaul mod added seasons and mechanics like fire spreading to organic blocks.
i think one of the best update idea would be the adding random npcs that would serve no purpose, had some random dialogues, just to fill the eternal void of worlds with lots of buildings
They should make it a choice, like a button in the town npc menu that says "enable flavor npc spawning" or something. They could also still be useful because of Tax Collector
Growing enemy factions would be really neat. I always think about Goblins having their own settlement which you can raid or you wait for them to grow strong enough to raid you. The little tunnel under the ocean could also be Pirate Cove.
Having the swamp and candy biome in the game would be awesome, it’s easy for worlds to get very same’y. And additional themes and biomes would be so nice for that. The seasons would further make that easier and seasons themselves would probably be pretty simple. Just either need to make everything that can be affected by seasons operate via one of those hex code color things essentially or for additional quality/work you could have 4 separate sprites for everything affected
The Ocean is definitely something that could have a bit more. They could easily have something similar to the jungle temple, an underwater temple that's only accessible after beating Duke fishron or maybe better to make it pre hard mode. Have it like the dungeon where you need to fight a boss to enter it
Of these I _really_ want seasons. It'd likely be a secret seed, if I were to guess. The Swamp sounds neat too. I can see it in my head and it's awesome. On the note of the ocean and planets, I _really_ wish the Ocean and Space were both bigger for building. As-is, there's not a ton of space for building an archipelago, or a space station, etc., and there's no way to expand those biomes. Actually, being able to create artificial layer/Ocean biomes would be sick. If the game won't expand the size of those biomes, let the player do it! Re: Mods, there's a few mods for these things already. There's an overhaul mod that adds seasons, but also a ton of other mechanics and big changes to the game, which may not be ideal. You can get artificial ocean and space biomes with another mod (I dunno if it affects spawns too). IIRC, Calamity expands Space a little bit, but it's Calamity, so not always ideal, and it doesn't expand it that much anyway.
Technically we have two quest NPCs if you count the Dye Trader. He doesn't tell you "Go here and do the thing" but he does reward you for bringing him specific items (and those items have the same rarity as quest fish too!)
I CRAVE for seasons in Terraria. Seasons are a great addition to any exploration/building games. They give so much charm to (for example) Kingdom Two Crowns or Don't Starve!
I always enjoy it when games have seasons because it helps convey the passage of time. Even with day/night cycles, you always lose track of the amount that has passed. Seasons help with that and bring a new appearance to the world every so often, which I love.
I would like to see worlds that can only be created after moonlord as a way to continue the game outside of the first world and make use of how you can use your character in different worlds
Bro hear me out, the purifying pool has potential! It doesnt have to be a huge addition... just throw any Corrupted or Crimson item into it to get a powered up 'pure' version of the item! For example: a Crimson Mushroom becomes an Angel Mushroom, which heals like a campfire or Heart Lantern for 1 minute. Toss the Vilethorn in to get the Holy Needle, a magic weapon that fires a thin, fast bolt, and when it hits, seven Vilethorn-like projectiles erupt from the point of impact in semi-random directions, making it always guaranteed to be 8 hits (initial one plus the 7 secondary hits). It even works on the Hallow! Throw in a Terraprisma and it becomes an Archangel Wing. Its mostly the same as the Terraprisma, but has a unique Cursed Flame variant that glows yellow-white and also adds the Ichor defense-drop effect! The whole thing is unnecessary, but adds another element of mysticism and wonder to an already immersive game.
I absolutely love the idea of more alternate biomes. One of the coolest things in this game is that ores are random each world, and obviously the two evil biomes are like that but a bigger concept, and to get that sort of bigger concept in other areas of the game would add so much more replayability to the game that already has so much.
I really would have loved having other planets to explore. Just think; you can travel to other worlds that have completely fallen to the crimson or the corruption and face other themed old gods :0 Seeing as the crimson as seen as a hivemind, can you imagine how spoopy it would be fighting those bone dragons and other fallen titans?
Layers to hell, and having invasions building towns would be amazing. I think if they made it right, where over time during an invasion, the pirates, aliens, and goblins repsectively built their own towns that got bigger and better over longer time would be cool. Each invasion they expand the town(s), and everytime you beat the invasion, the towns turn friendly. If theyve built a small town, there could be "travelling merchants" for each respective species and their own unique items. Potentionally adding a unique boss for each where, when beaten, the towns permanently help you with invasions, bosses, etc. (Edit) They could make it where each % beaten, they place a block/wall/item, so each invasion they add a set 100 blocks towards building preset towns.
I think the some of the secret seeds are kind of like alien world, like Not the Bees and Don't Dig Up. Also, the farming and stamina system is arguably added with the Don't Starve Seed. It's more like fishing/hitting trees and hunger though.
here is an idea, have an extreme and savage mode version of the bosses, like the base bosses would have the hard mode versions but have the skin of the base bosses but in a madder version, eye of cathulu as the twins, eater of worlds has destroyer though besides the metal eyes have corruptors spawn, and skelitron as its prime version then the hard mode versions as a more savage versions by adding more mechanics to them
Another Quest NPC would actually be pretty sick! Like imagine; "Kill [x amount] of [x enemy] for [x reward]" -Each time that you kill an enemy of the specific type whilst doing the quest, the loot automatically gets sent to the NPC -When the quest is active, it shows at the bottom right like how an invasion would, and you can opt out by going to the NPC and choosing to do so I just thought about this when the Quest NPC part was mentioned, (4:10) and it would've been so cool if we got something like this instead of the Angler NPC
Honestly, out of all the things we have had dropped, id say that the idea of having multiple worlds you travel between (which you didnt mention) is by far the number one choice for things that could have expanded the game, having players enter portals and taking on full new worlds every time they discover a new portal, but all still linked back to base. We even have a Large number of portals currently existing, plus they had said most biomes and sub biomes would have them too.
I would really love to have at least one boss for every biome… Depending on if you count the Duke as an Ocean boss or a mushroom boss since the word comes from the mushroom fields, we would still not have a boss for one of the two… and what’s with the desert? Maybe even a big spider cave with a boss? A boss for a glowing moss biome? A boss that is spawned if you throw something in the shimmer? A boss for the sky islands? A boss for Marble/Granite? I know this is just asking for more bosses but I really like how terraria gets you into visiting a variety of places throughout the game and I would love even more of a reason to go to some of these obscure places that you not encounter in some of your playthroughs… Another thing would be pylons… I really like them but I think some more would be great… most notably a sky island pylon… I know the Forest pylon is a thing and the universal one too and you can make the sky island a biome but I still like the idea… right now I always make my aether biome into a hallowed cave for the sake of the pylon network but it keeps me from having a pylon in the hallow… I know this is just nitpicking but I really like the idea of pylons and think that more would be lovely…
Imagine: - A volcano in the middle of a mountainous biome and its interior was a natural path to hell, full of enemies with a fire and lava theme, perhaps a boss that you must defeat if you want to continue going down, if not, something similar to the dungeon guardian would appear. - In the middle of the jungle biome there would be the parallel of the desert oasis, a swamp with water that makes you go slower and mud and algae monsters. - The space zone goes further, between asteroids and comets, perhaps reaching the moon, being able to fight the final battle in a pre-made arena against Cthulhu once the four pillars were defeated. - Maybe Re-Logic did not consider us worthy, perhaps, it left those dreams in our hands.
It's hard not to wonder if a Candy Biome would be OP and totally render the Hallowed broken gimp and no longer having any reason to exist ever again...? :P Who needs Unicorns when ya got Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream? 😋 Edit: Also, imagine how... awkward it'd be having Dryad pleading with us to save her World from the dreaded "Candyness" infesting it...? How many of us would read that and immediately wonder if Dryad was suddenly really needing of a trip to a Mental Hospital...? :P
honnestly seasons would be really cool, especially if they affect things like tree and herb growth, and biome spread. different herbs preferring different seasons like Shiverthorn growing quickly in winter but slow in Summer and could be polar opposite to Fireblossom that is fast in summer but slow in winter. trees changing colour and dropping their leaves and going into bloom. maybe hallowed spreads faster in spring , crimson spreading faster in summer but halts in winter because its too cold. Corruption spreading fast in Autumn and farming, combining the randomly dropped fruit with dirt and fertilizer to grow fruit trees, bushes and vines would be neat, and maybe a new Farmer NPC that sells crop seeds that you can use to grow food for the wellfed buff or sell for profit as an alternate way to farm gold.
i love the idea of factions controlling/dominating your world. A unique gamemode like this with its own unique progressions based on the faction (Example: selecting goblins to eventually kill a voodoo deity) would be massive for the game.
Honestly, the one thing I've really wanted all these years after hundreds of hours of playing is an extra large world size, I might be one of very few and it may be more difficult to implement than I realize, but it's something I've wanted since I beat my first master mode playthrough.
I thought it'd be cool if they added dimensions kinda like minecraft (the Nether, the end, mods like the twilight dimension). Simply because 1. It'd allow for more "room" for content than having EVERTHING on the normal map and it be "cluttered" (not exactly cluttered but you know what I mean). 2. I'm not a modder but I'd assume having this functionality in vanilla would make it easier for modders to add their own dimensions in their mods. I know there are some mods that do this but the last time I played with a mod that added this you couldn't build or anything. Just think it'd allow for really cool variations and give modders more creativity. I think it'd be a really cool addition in Terraria 2!
imagine Red really staying true to his word and the next terraria update being it's last BUT he starts to mod ideas in instead whenever he got free time working on his next project which will probably not be a Terraria 2 but a new idea and a new experience for us to get into
Biome Variants would be PERFECT. the swamp is an absolutely phenomenal idea and it's criminal that it isn't happening. I understand that it could be hard to swap out the golem fight, but . . why swap it out? Golem would still fit perfectly well in a swamp, maybe there can be some changes to his fight in the jungle to make it more jungle-y and then a more swamp-y version too for the swamp worlds. Plantera could do the same thing, have a more swamp-y fight but still be the same boss
Some of these scrapped ideas make sense from a engine point of view, others a gameplay, I like how you can always tell they prioritized quality fun and practicality
I always thought it was kinda weird that there's barely any reason to go back to hell after the wall of flesh (aside from getting the tax collector and I think one new weapon drop off a demon), so an abyssal update would've been really interesting. Kinda feels like there should be an optional hardmode boss down there or something
Making the oceans bigger, and full of a whole host of new content, would be really awesome! There's really not a whole lot of reason to be there, outside of Duke, and fishing. Imagine if on the opposite side from the dungeon, we got an underwater ocean temple, which would require water breathing to explore. Expanding Hell downwards would also be really interesting. Perhaps it could have a few new hell based biomes, that requires a higher tier pick to get to? Honestly, any update that adds new content is more than enough to make me happy, but a new biome would go crazy.
I've always thought that seasons would be a really cool addition to the game, and I loved how Terraria Overhaul had executed it before 1.4 tmod. However, I didn't actually know that Red had considered it at one point. Honestly, I feel with the more dynamic weather they've teased thus far, now would be a better time than ever to actually give seasons a go
I had the breakfast of champions today! This video was released on my birthday too, which is why my comment is a day late - I would have been lying if I said I had it yesterday!
Going to deeper and deeper levels of hell at different stages of progression until you reach the abyss is such a good idea, the underworld's content essentially just ends after you kill the Wall of Flesh, it would be nice to see it serve more of a purpose
A lot of these sound like things that might have to wait for Terraria 2. The oceans, for example. I think to do a proper ocean update, you'd need an actually substantial ocean, with islands and trenches and everything. How I can see it working is that, as in Terraria 1, each world has an ocean on either side, but crossing that ocean will take you to another continent, which is essentially another world. In between, there could be an ocean biome mini-world to act as buffer (e.g. so the other world can load while you're in the buffer zone). Seasons would be pretty cool, but again I think that's something that will have to wait for Terraria 2. The thing about Terraria 2 is that it would necessarily have a ton less content than Terraria 1, so it would be difficult to compete and actually bring players over. I think the key to Terraria 2 being successful will be mod support. That, combined with a new engine that allows you to do a lot of things you could never do in Terraria 1, will help hold people over until more official content can be released, and eventually Terraria 2 would catch up to Terraria 1 in the amount of content available.
Honestly if ReLogic were to ever make another Terraria game I'd love to see some of these ideas tapped into. Sure there's probably mods that do a lot of these but theres always just a different feel between mods and vanilla
If red does do a 1.5 and he incorporates some of the old scrapped ideas like the alternate biome varients that would be so insane, especially with XL world sizes and a drunk seed 2.0
I’d love to see a deep sea biome by expanding the ocean and also expanding the world, when you go deeper, the water texture opacity gets lessen and we get to see the ocean floor background, it would be cool to see shipwrecks or maybe encounter Duke Fishron there without the truffle worm
More hell would be cool would be cool. In current progression Jungle and dungeon get new content after Plantera and Golem, but Underworld is kinda left out and after WoF there is no reason to come back. I love the idea of swamp. Now that I think about alternatives, A rocky / mountainous biome as alternative to ocean could be interesting. And maybe after defeating some boss world ceiling would be replaced with some new biome, perhaps even upside down.
more biomes would certainly be amazing. a better space biome above what we have now, expanded ocean, expanded hell as a late hard now or even moon lord thing. seasons would be great, there's already sort of seasons with the drops changing near a couple holidays, but that could be expanded upon to change backgrounds, hp and mana drops, chances of certain enemies and critters spawning, more weather and different per season.
Starbound would have so much more replay-ability if they didn't lock everything behind quest progression on release, and if they made more incentives to colonization instead of surface sweeping it would still be on my list of games I play. Planet Centauri tried to make something space themed similar to Terraria, but missed the mark completely. And Terraria 2/New World or whatever got abandoned. If they would've made Terraria 2 at Relogic, the game might've been fun. If they add space like they thought they might, I could see it being interesting if they gave a reason to complete visited planets and return to your home planet post moonlord.
Honestly i wish there were bigger world sizes and an option for huge biomes like in minecraft. The deser, jungle, snow, and ocean biomes are just way too small to do anything cool with them. Like there are a ton of things you can do with the ocean- typhoons, tropical islands, deep sea trenches that extend to the cavern layer, snow oceans, jungle oceans, shipwrecks, etc. But how do you do any of that if you only have like 20 blocks to work with?
I’d love an alternative to the hallow, but these days it would be such a massive undertaking. Unless they reused mobs and parts of the biome generation, they’d need counterparts for so many existing items.
I knew I would be sad, knowing all the cool features that were scrapped, but I had to know. But I always imagined an alternative to the Hallow being called the Haven or smth like that.
Having a more dynamic weather system, and seasons would make my inner worldbuilder very happy. Having terrarium world have more dynamic change overtime would add alot of depth to the expirence. They would probably need to implement a temperature system but they already have a back bone for it.
Personally though, if I'm being greedy, I would want a physics simulator. It could be very basic but having sand move more dynamically, having blocks break without supports, or move when entities interact with them would be the dream for me. If they where to ever make a terraria 2, this would go at the top of my list.
I think more alternate biomes could be interesting for spicing up the game a lot. Sometimes a fresh coat of paint is all you need to make things interesting again, like my most recent playthrough with the otherworld ost

imagine a crimson/corruption swamp with mosquito variants as "support enemies". their main focus not to outright end the player, but to make it easier for the other biome nasties. corruption applies a short-lived bleeding and or weak debuff, while the crimson variants apply a bleeding and or ichor debuff.
honestly, they should make a Terraria 2 with a much larger world and a greater variety of biomes beyond alternates, the devs are quite passionate, but there is only so much you can add to the dated foundations before it crumbles in on itself. hope 1.4.5 is the actual final update for this reason.
It would be Baroness von Bon Bon
@@4ndr00med4 probably shortened to Baroness Bon Bon, bit long the other way about.
Bro i told my friend in 5th grade they were adding volcanoes and the moon i thought I was lied to unbelievable
Boy do I have news for you
Honestly I always thought a neat little "secret" area would be with space and gravitation potions, make some more use of the top layer of the world.
I think Expert mode was them adding harder worlds
Nha, that's just harder gameplay, it's not a harder world. A world with no trees, and only the underground structures for wood, until you get the dryad for acorns, that's a harder world.
I feel like the secret seeds is the "Alternate worlds" and the "seasons" are after you beat the Pumpkin Moon and Frost Moon events, though one for summer and spring would be cool too.
Oooo yeah! Maybe make one the focus on each class (kinda like how Pumpkin moon has the summoner stuff) would be pretty cool, plus could be a fun way to add new seasonal events
Technically we got the alien invasion as the martian invasion
and the pillars. the moon isn't brought down to the player though, just the boss
The subtle stab at Starbound though
i had an idea similar to the layered hell. after defeating moonlord, you could fall/swim through the lava at the bottom of the world and start at the bottom of a mirror of your original world except now the old bosses are your NPC's you get to move in and the old NPC's become new bosses.
@asterisk88888888 yeah right, I usually go there to farm souls because it is easier than the underground.
Of these ideas I'd most like to see an expansion to the ocean. We were so close to having a use for diving gear and gills potions
volcano biomes would be cool as a sub-biome of hell that you could bring to the surface with ash grass in a similar fashion to mushroom biomes. Maybe there could even be a special npc like with the truffle that’s a demon of some sort
Jogo npc🔥
🔥literally
If the first fractal doesn’t come next update I will cry
Get ready to start crying then 😅
prepare to cry (get it? calamity reference?)
I'm getting the tissues!
prepare to be in tears for the rest of your life
oh yeah.. the melee mage weapon
I'm surprised the ocean invasion event concept wasn't mentioned here, even if it was just an april fool's joke
I've got a mini theory that duke's theme was originally supposed to be the invasion's theme, mostly just because i feel it fits more as that than it does as a boss theme lol
...though that's assuming they were really going to make a whole invasion event for a joke, so idk
the pirate invasion could very well be what the ocean invasion became considering the theming being so similar
trust me an earthquake in terraria would not be good, unless its like a dummy world
The expansion to hell sound's like Calamity's Sulphurous Sea where You have deeper and deeper biomes untill You eventually reach Abyss
"Why Terrarian players were never bound for the stars"
Oh, really?
There is a fan-made interpretation of the Candy biome called "The Confection", which I think is still in Beta. It includes things like Creamsand, Gummy Blocks and Souls of Delight. And then, I think the Terraria Overhaul mod added seasons and mechanics like fire spreading to organic blocks.
I’m hoping the hallow gets its own counterpart. Would be so cool.
maan seeing some of these is really upsetting, a lot of this content is things id personally like to see in the game
The final update... That didn't happen
i think one of the best update idea would be the adding random npcs that would serve no purpose, had some random dialogues, just to fill the eternal void of worlds with lots of buildings
That PFP is giving me PTSD… I hear Joji ringing in the background, slowly approaching.
They should make it a choice, like a button in the town npc menu that says "enable flavor npc spawning" or something. They could also still be useful because of Tax Collector
Sounds much like what Starbound did
Growing enemy factions would be really neat.
I wish we could make boats to use in the water. Then it would be cool to make a world with mostly water and a few islands.🤔✌️
Ideas like the layers of hell or the falling moon sound perfect for secret seeds. I'd definitely do a hell play through if such a thing was an option.
I would absolutely want seasons, or seasonal biomes at least like the snow biome
Someone should mod a hell expansion! There is a lot of potential for cool fights and loot!
Just think; you can travel to other worlds that have completely fallen to the crimson or the corruption and face other themed old gods :0
Seeing as the crimson as seen as a hivemind, can you imagine how spoopy it would be fighting those bone dragons and other fallen titans?
Well, we can just send our characters to other worlds...
@@InsanityForce yeah but it's not the same lol
(Does he know?)
A candy biome as an alternative to the Hallow would be amazing!
We are so deep in the offseason rn 😭🙏
here is an idea, have an extreme and savage mode version of the bosses, like the base bosses would have the hard mode versions but have the skin of the base bosses but in a madder version, eye of cathulu as the twins, eater of worlds has destroyer though besides the metal eyes have corruptors spawn, and skelitron as its prime version then the hard mode versions as a more savage versions by adding more mechanics to them
Another Quest NPC would actually be pretty sick!
Like imagine; "Kill [x amount] of [x enemy] for [x reward]"
-Each time that you kill an enemy of the specific type whilst doing the quest, the loot automatically gets sent to the NPC
-When the quest is active, it shows at the bottom right like how an invasion would,
and you can opt out by going to the NPC and choosing to do so
I just thought about this when the Quest NPC part was mentioned, (4:10)
and it would've been so cool if we got something like this instead of the Angler NPC
Imagine:
- A volcano in the middle of a mountainous biome and its interior was a natural path to hell, full of enemies with a fire and lava theme, perhaps a boss that you must defeat if you want to continue going down, if not, something similar to the dungeon guardian would appear.
Who needs Unicorns when ya got Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream? 😋
Edit: Also, imagine how... awkward it'd be having Dryad pleading with us to save her World from the dreaded "Candyness" infesting it...? How many of us would read that and immediately wonder if Dryad was suddenly really needing of a trip to a Mental Hospital...? :P
10:22 I definitely remember hearing about the candy biome before 2020.
Seasons, swamp, improved ocean, more alien related stuff like martian invasion, the hell layers, quest npcs, etc would have been really cool
honnestly seasons would be really cool, especially if they affect things like tree and herb growth, and biome spread. different herbs preferring different seasons
like Shiverthorn growing quickly in winter but slow in Summer and could be polar opposite to Fireblossom that is fast in summer but slow in winter.
trees changing colour and dropping their leaves and going into bloom.
maybe hallowed spreads faster in spring , crimson spreading faster in summer but halts in winter because its too cold. Corruption spreading fast in Autumn
and farming, combining the randomly dropped fruit with dirt and fertilizer to grow fruit trees, bushes and vines would be neat, and maybe a new Farmer NPC that sells crop seeds that you can use to grow food for the wellfed buff or sell for profit as an alternate way to farm gold.
i love the idea of factions controlling/dominating your world. A unique gamemode like this with its own unique progressions based on the faction (Example: selecting goblins to eventually kill a voodoo deity) would be massive for the game.
It would be awesome to see Every biome/sub biome have alternates, possibly even giving a 3rd one to the evils, that way it matches the 3 dungeons too.
Simply because
I think it'd be a really cool addition in Terraria 2!
imagine Red really staying true to his word and the next terraria update being it's last
BUT he starts to mod ideas in instead whenever he got free time working on his next project which will probably not be a Terraria 2 but a new idea and a new experience for us to get into
Biome Variants would be PERFECT. the swamp is an absolutely phenomenal idea and it's criminal that it isn't happening. I understand that it could be hard to swap out the golem fight, but . . why swap it out? Golem would still fit perfectly well in a swamp, maybe there can be some changes to his fight in the jungle to make it more jungle-y and then a more swamp-y version too for the swamp worlds. Plantera could do the same thing, have a more swamp-y fight but still be the same boss
i think a secret seed that brings back and expands on some of these scrapped/removed features would be cool
Some of these scrapped ideas make sense from a engine point of view, others a gameplay, I like how you can always tell they prioritized quality fun and practicality
I hope the terraria modders are taking notes 😏
Honestly, any update that adds new content is more than enough to make me happy, but a new biome would go crazy.
anyone else remember when the Overhaul mod had seasons?
I've always thought that seasons would be a really cool addition to the game, and I loved how Terraria Overhaul had executed it before 1.4 tmod. However, I didn't actually know that Red had considered it at one point. Honestly, I feel with the more dynamic weather they've teased thus far, now would be a better time than ever to actually give seasons a go
I had the breakfast of champions today! This video was released on my birthday too, which is why my comment is a day late - I would have been lying if I said I had it yesterday!
ace haha, hope you had a good birthday!!
@@ChippyGaming It was great! Have a good week yourself!
I love the casual shade thrown towards starbound. Lol
I’d love to see a deep sea biome by expanding the ocean and also expanding the world, when you go deeper, the water texture opacity gets lessen and we get to see the ocean floor background, it would be cool to see shipwrecks or maybe encounter Duke Fishron there without the truffle worm
I think we should get an item that either adds mechanics or more difficulty to events that can stack, like m+ in WoW or ng+ in souls games
4:28 man i love me some Stalacites
every sandbox game, without fail, promises or mentions a seasons update early into development that never ends up getting made
There was so many great scraped ideas but i really think the seasons idea would be great to add idk why they never added it.
more biomes would certainly be amazing. a better space biome above what we have now, expanded ocean, expanded hell as a late hard now or even moon lord thing. seasons would be great, there's already sort of seasons with the drops changing near a couple holidays, but that could be expanded upon to change backgrounds, hp and mana drops, chances of certain enemies and critters spawning, more weather and different per season.
Volcano, Hell expansion, Ocean Expansion, Items that modify how spells work.
Seasons in Terraria would be amazing. This is something the game seriously needs.
alien planets sound super cool, and npc quest is a need for me right now
Starbound would have so much more replay-ability if they didn't lock everything behind quest progression on release, and if they made more incentives to colonization instead of surface sweeping it would still be on my list of games I play.
8:32 “By Relogic. 😐” Yeah I hear that
Honestly i wish there were bigger world sizes and an option for huge biomes like in minecraft.
I think a candyland biome would be a cool Hallow alternative. That's probably the one I'd most like to see.
I knew I would be sad, knowing all the cool features that were scrapped, but I had to know. But I always imagined an alternative to the Hallow being called the Haven or smth like that.
I'd have liked the alternate biomes like Corruption vs. Crimson; the Swamp and the Candy/Confectionary biome sound awesome.
