I love how you can see how enthusiastic Mark is when talking about his part in the show. This is the Luke we all wanted to see, not what was in the Last Jedi. It just sucks that that is where he will ultimately end up. Very bittersweet.
@@ishaanrahman9880 That's the frustrating thing, for me at least. I fully agree that this was a part of his character during the OT. This impulsiveness also caused him to interrupt his training with Yoda and confront Vader even though he wasn't yet ready... my issue is, I assumed that, decades later, he might have learned from his mistakes, that this is a Character-flaw he might have overcome because of his experiences. Perhaps these events could have caused him to become *too* passive? That Ben's turn didn't happen because he was impulsive but because he played it too safe? I dunno, that he made basically the same mistakes as a presumably much more experienced Jedi Master made it seem like his Character didn't really evolve all that much since ROTJ.
@@ishaanrahman9880 I get what you're saying but why would Luke be so scared of creating another Vader to the extent of killing his own nephew, who up until this point hadn't done anything wrong, when he was the one who saved Vader by showing him compassion, never giving up on him and refusing to give into his fear and anger and strike him down? "I am a Jedi, like my father before me." Its like he just forgot everything he learned in the original trilogy.
@Omnivertical I think they're too prideful to retcon the sequel trilogy. I mean, I want them too, badly, cos I want to see Luke's new Jedi Order bringing peace to teh galaxy, but I don't think they will do it.
he seems really happy that his character is fixed to the Luke Skywalker we all know and love from return of the jedi who redeemed his father not the Luke from another alternate universe who says go away

This just removes everything that Luke has done with his character in Return of The Jedi. How he accepts and tries to bring his father back to the light even though he has been in the dark side for so long and how much pain he has caused to others.

Luke has always had a respect for his part in the Star Wars series. I can totally understand why actors would come to be tired of or come to resent when their career becomes almost defined by a single role, but seeing Mark embrace it as he has, whether by humility or some other mechanism, is awesome for me as a fan of the character. Filoni really respects his role in the series, as well as the character and it really sets Filoni apart from the others that have had the creative helm after Lucas himself.
I feel so sad that he was robbed from actually doing this in real life back in the day after the movies - that George was done, and that was that. I am glad he gets to see it happen and be a part of it now though.
Does Mark Hamill play the character and they rejuvante him to look young? Or how is it done? It is amazing to see the young face of Mark Hamill in a new film! I think if for nothing else I want to watch that film! I love him! I have been disappointed many times in many of the Disney SW films and I simply refused to see 9, but perhaps I will make an exception with this. But if I do that will only be for Mark Hamill.
They first shoot with Mark for the reference and for the dialogue, then they have the Max Lloyd-Jones, his stunt double, to be his body and do the movement...the third part comes when they make the CGI face which they upgraded a lot since Mando S2....so yes Mark still has his role, its just a bit complicated since they need to make a young Luke...but Mark still physically plays the character first

I HAVE SEEN AMATEUR FILMMAKERS CREATE FAR BETTER STAR WARS EFFECTS THAN DISNEY, FELONI AND JOHN ARE PRODUCING. SUCH A SHAME WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO STAR WARS. BUT THAT’S WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU PUT UNTALENTED PEOPLE IN CHARGE.
