    Your video was a huge time saver. There are so many components to this on the 2017 Silverado and you were so straightforward and specific it made the process a breeze. You have a new subscriber and my eternal gratitude!

    Great video. I'm changing my battery right now. Another fine battery placement engineered by GM on Bring Your Kid to Work Day. Even the drain holes on the battery tray are at high points based on the angle of the tray. It's full of water. Well, at least they didn't put the battery under the driver's seat. You'll probably see that on the 2026 model.

    Nice video and you gain a subscriber and I'll tell you why. First and foremost you started out getting right to the point, and you didn't force me to listen to five minutes of blaring music which everybody else seems to think they just have to share with you. You were calm, collected, and didn't race through the hard and frustrating parts. You did a nice job and were easy to listen to. I will watch this again, and then go tackle the battery on my truck. Thank you for doing a great job.

      I am also hoppin on the band wagon if ya dont mind. I also agree with your 'straight to the point' vid. My battery barely started dragging them morning starts 2 days ago, so I am gonna asume its time. Havn't replaced it yet since I bought the truck used in 2020. Thank you again sir.

    I had to change my battery on same vehicle today. First thing I did was come to RUclips and watched this video. This was extremely helpful. Gave me confidence to do it myself. Went to auto zone purchased a battery for $245 came home and replaced it in about 90 minutes. Followed you video to the T…. Thank you

    As for the calibration, I have read where once you start it, you turn the steering wheel all the way right and all the way left, and then leave it in the center. Then run your power windows up and down one at a time, and then just drive it for about 20 minutes, and everything should be good to go. Thanks again for the video.

    The mechanics at dealership remove two bolts on coolant tank and it moves out of the way so it is very easy to take battery out and back in.

    • @jewllake
      @jewllake Год назад

      the problem is that the bolt under the air box is not a nut, rather a bolt and you don't have much clearance to put it back in straight. I ended up taking my air box out, because I wanted to change the air filter also, and then removing the coolant reservoir was easy to swing out. Next time I'll do it like this. My original battery lasted 6 years.

    Thanks for the video. My truck is a 2018 and still has the factory battery going strong. However, the location of the battery really sucks (thanks, GM), so, when I change the battery out in the future, it will be relocated to the secondary battery location on the driver side front under the hood.

    • @astrodiver1
      @astrodiver1  2 года назад +2

      That area is for a dual battery set-up. It is more practical to just replace the battery where it sits and then your good for another 4-5 years. My two cents, Thanks Winford.

    • @tristanwwsd
      @tristanwwsd Год назад

      So, you're going to rewire the whole battery circuit? Look at your left side battery tray. If it's like my 2018 there are no provisions for anchoring the battery. So that requires another side project.

    I agree with Jim Bos you did a nice job. Them bastards could have just put the battery in the left front like they did forever. But no they have to put some place that takes you an hour just to replace a battery that doesn’t last half as long as they used to. Man it hurts me to spend a dime on the crap they put you through. Anyway my turn to go through this. I’m not soldier girl I’m just using wife’s iPad. But thanks for sharing your time with us.

I have nothing. Tested battery with two testers and its good. Swapped brand new AGM battery for a second battery and had that tested with two testers and its good. WHAT do I need to do???? I want to go home.

      Donald, sorry for the late reply. I just started the truck, then "cal" was illuminated on the dash. I ran it for 5 minutes, shut it off, then started it again. The 'cal" was off and everything was normal, so in my case no I didn't have to reset anything.
