Thanks for sharing this one. Del Rio Texas 1959 is one of the best country music albums ever. It's a crying shame Radney is not recognized more. His song writing skills are one of the best. He is like the Don Henley of country music.
This song has one of the greatest lines ever, " where those muddy bayous run, just as black as coca cola, ain't no other place I can be bluer, that I know of ".
Hey Randy Foster the great singer I love that album 1959 just call me Lonesome Louisiana blues that magazine country alright he's alright my book and I like his music
I cant believe I only just discovered this Radney Foster cd.... I love Radney, have several of his Foster & Lloyd cds, just can't believe I somehow overlooked this one. Wow. Radney never disappoints!
Ain't nothing like proper English ! Proper English🎺🎵🎻🎶🎷 music to the ears 💛 Of course 💩 grammar is "music" in a minor key with half the notes a half a key off🤯😵💀 🤣🤣
Just a little thing it's not looseanna, louisiana no lose. Other than that I have LOVED Radney for years. He the most talented and such a great song writer and singer. Seen a few times in concert and hope to again one day.
Why the hell are there only 8K subs?! Radney will always be one of my favorites, from the time he opened for Vince Gill at the Cubby Bear in Chicago to today. Del Rio TX is one on my favorite cds.
I love singing your songs with our little 'Old Guys Rule' band here in FL. This one is one of my favorites but anything from Del Rio Texas 1959 works for me. With a lot of luck I may run into you someday and play and sing together. You might not like it much, I don't have your delivery or control, but I sure would.
God bless Radney Foster. His talent and his love for country music shows in every song he writes. He pours his heart and soul in every chord to make the listener feel the song.
shoot fire radney this is a damn good song iI listen to you and loyd back in the eighties then life took us away from albums and cassette to the age of computer etc hell i was workin same job in factory so long by the age of us deep into a war with damned terrorist. hell i had long forgotten bout you boys now sitting here tonight after watching my favorite reruns of The Rifleman I remembered like Texas in 1880s typed ya in bam there you were on my smart phone technology is a real gizzard tickler i always loved some of your songs so did anyone in those small Indiana towns Id play my cassette stereo in my bronco.. so afyer the memory lane songs i saw you radney greyed up like me and the song Louisiana blue that is a right nice country song along with violin.acordian a scruboard good stuff. hope your doin good and your buddy as well your a good american bro thanks for the good music man and I hope you got more. say it aint over .......till the fat lady sings. ha. ha !
This is from Radney's great 2012 release Del Rio Tx Revisited: Unplugged & Lonesome. Most of the time I would run in the opposite direction of artists who rerecord their past successes, attempting a cash grab. But 20 years gave Radney some refreshing new perspectives on the original. As a bonus, one new song, "Me & John R." was included and is worth the cost of the disc alone. Can't recomend high enough!
***** it really wasn't a cash grab.... the music company won't print anymore copies of del rio 1959 and people keep asking him for it.... so he rerecorded it

I prefer the version on one of his earlier cds - probably because I heard it there first. And, it's uptempo.
I love this song, it's so catchy, and love Radney's grin at the end.

This isn't the same version of the song as on the Del Rio 1959 album. Anybody know if this version was recorded on an album, or is downloadable?
