More Incorrect stuff. When the ship got the VLS - the changed from the RIM-7 Sea Sparrow to the SM2 missile. The SM2 Missile IS Much more capable missile- SM2 vs RIM7- very little difference -simpler for the VLS. These were "tight" very capable ships.

I'm sure some American probably talked Canada into adopting this launching system!

As stated in the video, it was adopted to store the missiles inside, and to reload inside regardless of the weather. Yes, it was slow to deploy and hard to reload which it why it was replaced in later refit by a better system WHEN IT WAS INVENTED and became available.
Google winter in the North Atlantic for an idea why it might make sense...

The Royal New Zealand Navy should build/have this type of old model ship that can carrying 2 helicopters for ASW.....at least 12 needed to counter China's submarines probably roaming around Australia surrounding.

Being housed in a box would protect the sparrow missiles from the corrosive maritime environment?

Incorrect info. The us navy was using gas turbines before Canada

It specified 'destroyer' with gas turbine. Perhaps other classes of ship used gas turbines earlier.

COGOG - combined gas turbine or gas turbine. The Iroquois were the first to use this. No, not the first to use gas turbines, just the first to use gas turbines for cruising AND for full power/high speed.

Wasn't Germany with its Koln class frigates, the fist nation to intruduce gas turbine equiped vessels?
