I think every single action figure should come with some type of power effect. Thats what makes us like these figures and characters, and they should have some kind of representation of their powers.
Moonstone is one of my favourite characters and i wasn't a collector when the first one came out so i bought it immediately. But there were no accessories (i have her displayed with the yellow silver surfer effect) and we do need a dark ms marvel along with a classic ms marvel for the newer collectors
The main problem with Mystique (and Morph) is they should be parts formers. Coming with tons of different character faces, hands etc. They just don't bother.
The re-release moonstone is actually my favourite probably but I use her as a what if Carole danvers as think body and head sculpt makes a better Carole. Just a shame binary wasn't done on this buck as it's already mostly white.
Between Russ and Anthony I kinda want Darwin now, just because hes such a creepy looking bastard. The Scary movie 3 handsy aliens nostalgia vibe doesn't hurt either.
Much respect to you Shartimus. Last year you proved without a shadow of a doubt that you’re not a shill. No need to apologize for having your own opinion on something you spent your own money on. I appreciate you calling it how you see it.
Not going to lie it feels good when people who read the comics do the figures reviews or list much love to the ones that don't but knowing where the characters story, mindset, goals, aspirations, love interest and hated enemies when they were wearing that particular costume makes the figure come to life then just liking how it looks🤷🏽♂️ appreciate it shardtimus prime
My TOP 10 Worst figures from 2022: Worst BAF: Boneabreaker (Personally, I don't like this figure. Remembers me Cannonball Wendigo wave) 10. Everett Ross Attuma wave 9. Sleepwalker MoM wave 8. Molten Man 5-pack Spider-villains 7. Fallen One Heralds two pack 6. Maggot Bonebreaker wave 5. Mr Knight Ultron What If BAF 4. Jimmy Woo Knonshou wave 3. Human Fly 5-pack Spider-villains 2. Darwin Bonebreaker wave 1. Howard the Duck MCU
The mcu loki figure is so much better than the previous version. The other one was way too pale and has a lot of suit body issues. The new one has a little bit newer legs and a new back sheath and sword. I loved the show so that was a must for me. Plus I never got the older cosmic cube.
Completely agree with your stance on fondness of a character being a major factor over the opinion of a figure. Sometimes a great figure will make me like a character more, usually if I was only partially interested in them initially. Other times my fondness of a character will enhance my enjoyment of a figure, or it just makes a mediocre figure even worse. Either way, it can really put in perspective how much I care about a character. At the end of the day it all comes down to personal preferences, I personally much prefer the retro Loki over the last one, and I didn't intend to get it until seeing it in person. The paint on the faces is outstanding whereas the last version I though had terrible face paint, I regularly swap out the heads since I like both a lot, the brighter colours I prefer, in general I just like it a lot more. Then again I don't get too deep into Marvel Legends, there's plenty every year that I skip and I was never happy with that last version, but that's just me.
My biggest gripe on Speedball, the on character that has his powers active majority of time with him so lack of effect pieces really sucked. Animated Jean Grey need a sleeping head and faint sound. Sorry not sorry I do remember her doing that a lot. If was animated Dark Phoenix now that woulda been cool.
Thanks for the vid! Everett Ross I get, cause you had to rebuy him to get a baf piece. But why comic Loki? It's just a straight reissue, don't buy it if you don't need it. Contrary to popular belief, it's not taking the slot of another character.
I wasn't keen on the Riot figure either but I'm a huge Symbiote fan and needed him and Agony to complete my Life Foundation team. Happy to have the character but yes the execution could have been SO MUCH better!
Considering Rintrah was also a massively overproduced Deluxe Funko Pop, I have to imagine there was a marketing mandate or that he had a bigger presence in the pre-Raimi version of the movie.
There's behind the scenes footage of him (or rather the actor in mocap) climbing Mount Wundagore with Wong, so we know he was originally accompanying Wong's plot and was originally in the final battle.
@@ShartimusPrime dang that's crazy! Well they surely did not have their place on this amazing open minded platform of sharing and respecting each other's opinions! 😎 so good riddance! Keep rocking it Shartimusprime! 💪😎🤘
I only picked up the retro card loki because it was cheaper than the other version and already have a few swords that use the same mold. Just wish I had an avengers movie loki or nick fury with an updated body mold and articulation
I really liked the Moonstone fig overall and picked it up but don't have any of the others in your list. Really wanted to like the Hatut Zeraze but just couldn't, mostly due to the HUGE difference in appearance between the box art and actual figure (as well as lack of appropriate accessories). That said, LOVE what you did with it to make a White Wolf!
Anyone who doesn't have the previous Moonstone would say the new is one of the best from 2022, maybe not top 10 but one of the best releases. He had the previous one so is "unnecesary" therefore he didn't like it.
If someone would sell the back sheith and dagger as a kit, that Loki is a pretty simple custom. The original release had an inaccurate shirt sculpt, they should have used the same torso as Mobius not a standard civilian button down shirt since the collars in the show costume are not what we are used to. I was ok getting the blue suited Ross since I popped a Charlie Cox head on grey suit Ross for Matt Murdock.
With the price hikes these days, I have to be picky about the figs I buy. If I don't really like the character that much and the baf isn't that great I just skip it.
That cube Loki isn’t terrible however the price is crazy. That being said here are some figures I got this year that have disappointed me. 1. Baby Wolverine from Mojoworld 2. The Korg BAF from Thor Love Thunder (the legs won’t go into a neutral pose 3. StarLord from Thor love and Thunder (no alternate helmeted head and also Amazon was weird and sent me this figure with a King Valkyrie shipping label 4. Doctor Strange from the Multiverse of Madness BAF wave (the cape sits loosely on his back and there are no cuts in the robe part which drastically limits leg movement) Most of these only disappointed me I don’t out right hate these figures even the baby Wolverine, I’m indifferent about it.
19 figures that you bought that were disappointing might be over $500 with tax and shipping. That’s a pretty bad product line. I quit buying every ML line this year and I’m much happier for it. I have a pretty huge Marvel collection and I maybe bought 5 Hasbro figures the second half of 2022.
What i learned is never ask hasbro for crap, they won't do it, but will make figures no one asked for and it won't sell while telling paying customers the figures they ask for won't sell.
Honestly I only bought the Everret Ross mold just to use for Tony stark custom where I used the Tony head from the infinity saga and hands to use on this figure! Awesome list shart! Keep voicing your opinion man!👍🏾 it’s still a punk thing to do😎 lol jk but in all realness I’m glad I’m not the only one that buys figures and am later disappointed in them and decide to make my own custom too😂
The #1 Loki was mostly disappointing because of the tessaract I actually enjoyed the Loki itself but man that could’ve easily been an exclusive somewhere for 25-30 and I would have enjoyed it more rather than my mind say 20 for an action figure and 40 for a not needed role play item
I bought that retro card Loki simply because it cost a third of what the original would’ve, and after doing so wished I wouldn’t have 😅 it’s *fine* but the colors don’t match the Agent Loki Retro card and the lack of sword blows (gave mine a spare Zemo sword)
I wanted to build Rintrah from when he very first got announced (and finally finished building him a couple weeks back!) and yea the complete lack of presence in the movie was incredibly disappointing
There's behind the scenes footage of him (or rather the actor in mocap) climbing Mount Wundagore with Wong, so we know he was originally accompanying Wong's plot and was originally in the final battle.
I am lucky that I am so picky that I have never regretted buying a Fig, but I have regretted not buying A LOT. Sadly just the way it goes when you dont have the money to just get everything. It thanks to Channels like yours that I can often make my most informed choices, so thanks and keep up the great work. Also the fact that you do read the Comics makes your opinion just that much better.
yea what were they thinking with that Sleepwalker body/mold choice, ugh, he was all tie most wanted ML since Toybiz and hope we get a redo on 100% brand new sculpt...still wish Toybiz did him ,would have all these gnarly lanky proportions and groovy dark washes
For real tho they should've used the caliban body mold for riot his head is not proportioned to his body and it almost looks like he's arching his neck
It's just pathetic from people who don't like someone's subjective opinion. You should not be afraid to express a subjective opinion if it is controversial. Everyone has a right to it. And here, in general, I would disagree with Riot the most because I like it and I like how it looks. Retro Loki well for me much better painting, photo real tech face, new head and these knives suit me. But could he at least have his spear? I don't know and the cape. He is also $13 in my place, so it seems like a good deal, especially since I don't have any. But I can say right away that the biggest disappointment was the hobgoblin because I waited for the new 5 years and not only that it's a totally lazy re-release. By using pretty much the same stuff the previous one had except legs and hands and gloves and shoes which made everything worse anyway. A small glider that has no chance to stay on. He doesn't look like anything. It just looks nasty. They didn't at least give him a new head or a normal untattered cloak. I really like hobgoblin my 5th favorite villain spiderman and it just hurt me like I don't know how to describe how muxh. I hate this figure. However, any other figures that were disappointing are: retro scorpion because I was hoping for something different and new and they only repainted the previous one and that's it. They didn't even give him both fists and open hands or claws. retro ghost rider is maybe in a better situation, but in my opinion bodymold has not aged well, which makes it look strange and has strange proportions. He doesn't have a motorbike and I'm not a fan of gray pants. The only + is Johnny Blaze's new bony hands and head. Molten man has nothing special, they just made him with another lazy bodymold not that interesting effects no sculpture. At least they could give him namor body because he is not massive enough and it's just another lazy repaint. And the last one is a bullseye from 3pack because I don't like this costume too much and the lack of a gun is a total disagreement.
The Everett Ross was a two pk. I remember now, it was with Killmonger. A figure I didn't want to pay for again to Ross. I get why some people could be upset
I respect that we have different opinions and yours are well argued! Personally I love the 90s scorpion. I think he was the second best behind the retro lizard.
My list 5: Baby Wolverine from 4-pack (literally a happy meal toy) 4: MOM Dr. Strange (huge disappointment as we got the awesome NWH version a few month before) 3: Howard (another Happy Meal toy for 25 bucks) 2: Retro Hobgoblin 1: VHS Mr. Sinister
Of these figures, I only have America Chavez. When the figure was announced, I knew I wanted it. I didn't preorder her, but when I saw her on shelves, I had no problem paying full price. But I definitely want Howard the Duck, but I refuse to pay full price for him.
Between the two, I would've preferred the Cosmic Cube Loki as a single release instead of the Variant Jacket version. The head looks a lot better and I think the rolled up sleeves with the sheath on his back is a better look overall. Being packed for $60 with that Cosmic Cube is what kills it. Also, I understand the hate for the Everett Ross figure, but the suited bodies are one of the only figure types I actually army build. I like getting them in a lot of different colors so I can head swap and have a diverse group of well dressed goons in my display. They often times get clearanced for fairly cheap, too.
Not that I disagree with your opinions on the top 2, but I do think it’s kinda odd to so officially criticize figures you never got in hand? Idk, I guess since you’re someone who tends to buy every ML release, it’s a big deal when you pass on one, I do get that.
Yeah, that’s basically what that means to me. If it’s so bad that I can’t even justify spending money on it, that’s next level bad. Right past, bought it and then sold it.
Your top 10 was different for sure, sounds like you got some heat. I don't know about having bad marvel legends you didn't buy on your list of worst 10, should have ended with the goblin figure that was sold.
Only legend I bought last year was Quake. I can't bring myself to keeping buying legends and black series with the price hikes , but no increase in quality.
I actually really dig that Mr Sinister, but only because it gives me nostalgia vibes for the 91 figure which was pretty much just a chunk of solid blue plastic. Granted I understand that liking a figure because of its similarties to an outdated, completely inaccurate cheap figure from 30 years isn't much of a glowing review lol
Never read Ultimate Venom but that toy looks amazing because I like it’s small size and the color, but I don’t own it because it came in a 5 pack. I’m not too hype about Marvel Legends 2023.
People asked why I don't like the Scorpion figure. I'll post a review on my second channel, RussToyReviews.
I prefer a more comic book version so I passed on this animated version and bought the previous scorpion figure.

The #1 Loki was mostly disappointing because of the tessaract I actually enjoyed the Loki itself but man that could’ve easily been an exclusive somewhere for 25-30 and I would have enjoyed it more rather than my mind say 20 for an action figure and 40 for a not needed role play item
And we need an Avengers movie Loki I’m surprised we haven’t gotten one
The N° 1 really surprised me 🤯
I bought that retro card Loki simply because it cost a third of what the original would’ve, and after doing so wished I wouldn’t have 😅 it’s *fine* but the colors don’t match the Agent Loki Retro card and the lack of sword blows (gave mine a spare Zemo sword)
I didn't get the Cosmic Cube the first time, so I'm actually happy getting Tesseract Loki 2-pack
For the animated figures, HASBRO should have talked to NECA for advice
YES!!! I don't own any of these garbage figures, money was going to other lines and still haved money for food.✌🤓👍
I love the ultimate spider man design and I always loved the black suit so having both combined is a dream come true
Good video I got Loki and the cube but it was only bc I wanted to compare it to the custom I made.
Welp, i only own one of the top 10 worst which was animated hob goblin lol
yea what were they thinking with that Sleepwalker body/mold choice, ugh, he was all tie most wanted ML since Toybiz and hope we get a redo on 100% brand new sculpt...still wish Toybiz did him ,would have all these gnarly lanky proportions and groovy dark washes
However, any other figures that were disappointing are:
retro scorpion because I was hoping for something different and new and they only repainted the previous one and that's it.
Hey shartimas I took a brake from collecting after my collection got destroyed by this kid so what figures should I get for this year.
The Everett Ross was a two pk. I remember now, it was with Killmonger. A figure I didn't want to pay for again to Ross. I get why some people could be upset
Neca should be the only company doing cell shading
I respect that we have different opinions and yours are well argued! Personally I love the 90s scorpion. I think he was the second best behind the retro lizard.
My list
5: Baby Wolverine from 4-pack (literally a happy meal toy)
4: MOM Dr. Strange (huge disappointment as we got the awesome NWH version a few month before)
3: Howard (another Happy Meal toy for 25 bucks)
2: Retro Hobgoblin
1: VHS Mr. Sinister
i wish i could have just the head of vhs mr sinister, i really like that look but ya the rest is not good or close to the og fig.
I Like Gorr a lot. Each to their own tho
Good video man.
THANK YOU for that Loki mention. Least favorite figure in my collection.
Are you gonna sell rintrah
Toybiz hobgoblin still the superior figure after almost 20 years…hasbro still disappointing as always
Agree!!!!
7:46 🎃👹🥴😂😂😂
Your top 10 was different for sure, sounds like you got some heat. I don't know about having bad marvel legends you didn't buy on your list of worst 10, should have ended with the goblin figure that was sold.
That Loki body would make for a good Nathan Drake.
I actually bought the 5 pack just for the ultimate symbiote Spider-Man, Ultimate Spider-man was my favorite comic book run in those days.
What a relief! I didn't buy any of these. I thought for sure I would suffer by comparison.
I agree with all of them
I’m with you man I Love that ultimate spider-man fig.
Never read Ultimate Venom but that toy looks amazing because I like it’s small size and the color, but I don’t own it because it came in a 5 pack. I’m not too hype about Marvel Legends 2023.
I know for a fact riot will be reused for ultimate venom ,
Popped the Ross head off and popped on one of the Mr.Negative goon head on it
Bad characters bad figures quite a shock
a total cash grab for Hasbro, total disappointment!!
I still have my ToyBiz Mr. Sinister; I'm good.
i actually put an extra black widow head on vhs jean lol but it was better than paying after market for the og jean fig.
I agree with it all
Rintrah is actually a really good figure, sucks thqt the character was barely in the movie
How is gorr the god butcher one of the worst figure?
Bro James Gunn revealed future project in DC.
