    Slash has improved so much since GnR's prime. He never insults any other guitarist, only compliments. Yet gets tons of hate himself for no reason (although the love far outweighs the hate). He keeps his head down and keeps working. In interviews he doesn't talk about how great he is, or the iconic solos he's recorded. He talks about what he's working on at the moment. He doesn't like to be hailed as an icon, or treated like he's some huge celebrity.
    I've met him on three different occasions as I was working two events he was at in LA and one in London. We casually chatted each time for a good bit. He is the most down to earth, hard working man you will meet. The hate just blows me away.

    Slash is a hell of a guitarist. Not because he's the most technically proficient (although his technique is still really damn good). His feel, distinction, and creativity make him the guitarist he is.

    • @DanFernandesBenficaSaint
      @DanFernandesBenficaSaint Год назад +8

      Beck, Satriani, SRV and even Hendrix I would put ahead. It’s about the feel and ability at the same time. Slash was my hero growing up. But as you get older you realise real ability that is great. Tommy Emmanuel is the greatest guitarist alive… but have you heard of him? Sometimes that song you like singing too clouds your judgement. It’s similar to say Rolling Stone putting Kurt Cobain as a great when my baby finger has more talent. Lindsay Buckingham was at 100! Watch him play Big Love on his own. You’ll never see Kurt even begin to be able to play that. Try learning a Spanish Rumba. Took me 10 years to perfect it. And I’ve been playing since I was 5. But that’s okay, I will always love the music, you just have to be objective when comparing the skill and talent along with feel and ability. Ciao.

    Saw Aerosmith a number of years ago, I think it was around Just Push Play (for context). And they did this thing where they walked up to a second stage in the general seating area (which was pretty rad of them). Anyways, they were getting into and Joe Perry starts into "Dream On", and for a half a second forgot how to play the intro. Everyone just looked at him with "wtf, Joe?!". Was kind of funny -- it happens to the best!
