Great reaction young lady. Yeah Tatiana is a phenomenal vocalist. Jinjer as a whole are all phenomenal, Eugene (bass), Roman (guitar), and Vlad (drums) are insane musicians. Tati gets the most attention because of her incredible vocals, but make no mistake, the guys are equally talented, they compliment each other perfectly. I'm gonna suggest another Jinjer reaction that I think you'll absolutely love, and that is Judgement (& Punishment) Tatiana Shmayluk one take vocal performance. You'll get to see Tati do her thing in a booth, one take, one mic, and one cat (you'll get the cat reference if you react to the video) Peace and as always, stay Metal. 😊🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🎶🎶🎶🎶

Eugene is usually wayyyyy too loud live and honestly thinks he's a God and he get boring fast. He literally did an interview talking about playing less notes on bass lines being better but then goes off and can't help his ego and most his grooves all blend to each other because he plays too many notes lol. They get showed up by opening bands quite a bit. All fuzz from his overpowering bass you can't hear tati very well even. Def studio band.

Love when you were wondering who taught her how to sing like that. She is self taught. From a young age she fell in love with heavy metal and screaming and decided that was what she wanted to do when she grew up. Pretty cool story. Watching their live shows is pretty cool. She is such a strong singer but the band is equally as talented in their own right. Such a great comp.

I definitely agree with commenters recommending that you react to Judgement (& Punishment) - Tatiana Shmayluk - One Take Vocal Performance. You get a close profile view of Tatiana from just above her diaphragm up wearing a skimpy top & performing a song including 3 radically different vocal styles all in one take. Pretty much ideal for a vocal coach, I would think.

My wife and I, just saw Jinjer on tour on October 29th. The whole band was absolutely amazing, and I say this as someone who has been to well over 150 shows from punk, to classic rock, to extreme death metal, to black metal, etc. During that time I've seen bands that killed it, and I've seen bands that struggled and the singer could not do what they did in the studio. Tatiana has no problem performing for almost 2 hours straight and sounded great on every song. Her clean vocals were amazing sending chills through your body, and her heavy vocals were spot on as well. Jinjer is a powerhouse, comprised of top notch musicians that are masters of their craft.

If you're interested in this genre of female metal growlers, consider Arch Enemy (Sweden), Spiritbox (Canada) plus a couple of defunct bands, Cerebral Bore (UK) and ReVamp (Netherlands). The lead singer from ReVamp is now with Nightwish and these days she rarely uses the technique as it doesn't fit their style. She is a classically trained soprano so in what is probably the most drastic transition in music, she can cut from a growl to an operatic head voice in the span of a single note.

🔥Welcome to Jinjer, Lara! I just found your channel, great reaction, subbed! Thank you for bringing the fantastic genre twisting music of Jinjer to more people! I love their energy, how tight they are, the heaviness mixed with complexity and groove, beautiful singing and growling and especially Tatiana's lyrics!
The first time I heard Pisces I hadn't liked any metal with growling and it took me a few listens to start liking it, but now Tatiana is my favorite vocalist and Jinjer my favorite band.
TLDR: skip to the last paragraph 😂
Sorry for the long comment, I just love Jinjer too much and love seeing people discover (and usually fall in love with) them and each of their songs!
My three favorite comments about Jinjer that I've seen, "terrifying levels of talent", "I hate it when a Jinjer song ends", and "that was more unexpected than my first child" 🤣
I love the story of Tatiana getting interested in learning to growl. In her own words, "I was inspired by Otep (Shamaya). When I was 15, my friend showed me a record of House of Secrets. I was like, ‘That dude - his voice is so powerful. And he said, ‘Oh come on Tatiana, that’s actually a woman!’ I was like, ‘What?’ She blew my mind. That was the time, the moment when I realized I wanted to shock people just like her. I just had the feeling or the intuition, like an extra sense that this is what I’m made to do.”
For most of their songs, the three guys write most of the instrument music, then Tatiana writes most of the lyrics and melodies (she gets tons of well deserved credit for her vocal and stage performance abilities, but maybe not quite enough for her lyrical and musical composition abilities). Roman the guitarist has written a lot of the instrument music in the past, so he's a huge part of the beautiful sound of Jinjer, but Vlad the drummer (who also plays guitar and classical piano, but so far not in most Jinjer songs - I think he played piano in lainnereP) has been writing more of it and wrote nine of the eleven songs for the newest album Wallflowers, first three videos are out for Vortex, Mediator (heavier) and Wallflower. Eugene composes some - he wrote the instrument music for one song on Wallflowers and a few songs on other albums, and I know that apart from his amazing work on the bass, he adds riffs and has written lyrics for a few Jinjer songs.
The band (all members have been Ukrainian, with Russian their first language) started in eastern Ukraine in 2009 as a group of three (then five) with none of the current members (they consider the official start of the band when Tatiana replaced the male vocalist and Roman joined as lead guitar 2009/2010), Vlad is the fifth drummer (joined in 2016) and it's been a group of four since 2015 (though they consider their road sound engineer Sasha to be a fifth member). I think they're still friends with all the former members.
One of the things I love most about Jinjer is the messages in Tatiana's lyrics and the way she combines growling and beautiful singing with Jinjer's fantastic instrumentals to be so powerful for expressing the anger and pain in those messages: the anti-war message in Home Back, the anti-greed in On The Top, Mediator and No Hoard Of Value (also the horror of the coal mining industry in their home Ukraine), the protest song Who Is Gonna Be The One, the anti-fascism of Sit Stay Roll Over, the anger at people being narrow minded in Teacher Teacher and Judgment & Punishment, the struggles with mental health in Pit Of Consciousness, Vortex, Wallflower and Perennial, the giving voice to mother nature angry at humanity for letting capitalism destroy her in a bunch of songs like Ape, The Prophecy, Cloud Factory, Noah, Outlander, Dip A Sail and Bad Water. Other favorites are I Speak Astronomy, Retrospection, Words of Wisdom, Just Another, Captain Clock, Scissors, Exposed As A Liar, I Want It I'll Get It, A Plus Or A Minus, When Two Empires Collide, lainnereP, Prologue and Beggar's Dance (those last two are short album bookends that might do well together in one reaction).
I haven't found a Jinjer song I don't love, so I think you can't go wrong if you choose any of them, but a few good choices might be Perennial (official and/or live at Wacken, both are must-see), Teacher Teacher (official and/or live in Melbourne), Judgement & Punishment (official and/or Tatiana's one take performance, again both must-see), Pit of Consciousness (official and/or live in Kiev/Kyiv, a third where both are absolutely must-see) or the heartwrenching plea against war in Home Back (official video). Note that because Jinjer has so many great official videos and so many astounding live performance videos, no Jinjer fan will ever mind if you react to a second video for a Jinjer song you've already heard, so whichever songs you choose, whatever pace you like: Enjoy! ❤🖤🤘

You can tell a good vocal coach from a great by their reaction to the harsh vocals in this. I’m very impressed with your analysis. Once the shock passed you understood and broke it down. Kudos.

Teacher Teacher is my fav from jinjer, new album wallflower is the highest level of music... Some other MONSTER female singers in metal are Floor Jansen, Brittney Slayes, Simone Simons, Anekke van Gierbergen and more... Try Ghost Love Score from Nightwish live at Wacken 2013... And welcome to the habbit hole...

You have to see her do it live, it blows your mind to hear it and see her bouncing around onstage compromising her breath support - all while she maintains the energy of a rock show as a front woman and keeps her breath control. It's really quite impressive. Perennial Live at Whacken 2019 or for advanced "growls" try Pit of Consciousness live in Kiev.

Pisces is a great song to turn people on to Jinjer that do not necessarily like heavy music. Tatiana Shmailyuk is an amazing writer and performer and her band mates are excellent musicians. I have seen them live twice now and I will again. Never a disappointment.

In their song Teacher Teacher, she pops back and forth from singing/screaming for different words in the same sentence. It's pretty great, and probably my favorite song of theirs.

Yep, that's Tatiana :) Great reaction. Love hearing musicians and vocal coaches react to Jinjer. It's nice when those that know what they are talking about recognize their talent. As others have said, she is self taught. She had about 2 months of voice lessons when she was 8, then the rest is all her own. She's been in many many bands growing up (at one point she was singing with 8 or 9 bands I guess). All kinds of genres; reggae, punk, funk, metal, grunge, rock, jazz, etc. They bring a lot of those influences into their music as well. Tatiana's main vocal influences are Bob Marley, Ella Fitzgerald, Amy Winehouse, and Gwen Steffani (No Doubt days).
She taught herself how to growl/scream and still really can't explain it. She tried to learn from videos and stuff, but it didn't work for her, so she sort of created her own technique. Probably why her sound is different than most others when she does it. It seems fuller and richer, than most. Her main influence there is Randy Blythe (Lamb of God) and Otep.
I agree with others, the Judgement (& Punishment) One Take Vocal Performance is a great video and Perennial live at Wacken 2019 is great. Also, I Speak Astronomy is an awesome song and has some great sustained belts. All of their songs are different. Love how they blend genres and stuff you wouldn't think would go together. They do it so well.
