  • This physics video tutorial explains the relationship between electric flux and gauss's law. It shows you how to calculate the electric flux through a surface such as a disk or a square and how to calculate it using a sphere and a cube. Electric flux is the product between the perpendicular component of the electric field relative to the surface and the area of that surface. This video discusses the difference between the angles phi and theta and the terms inward electric flux vs outward electric flux. This video contains plenty of examples and practice problems.
