  • Pro golfers maintain the tilt of the spine that you see at address though impact. When you engage the trail side internal oblique properly, this will help you keep that posture and keep you from standing up through the shot. Not only will you strike the ball better, this is better for you back.

Doesn't look like you are pushing/pressing your butt cheeks to the wall. I see so many others teaching to push the butt back just a bit.

We don't advise our students to throw the right butt back in the backswing because then it will generally come forward too much in the forward swing too much and that messes up spine tilt. If you rally through the right hip back in the backswing you can see from face on how it changes spine tilt from a face on view. Nate feels the pelvis rotation is pivoting much more on the lower right portion of the pelvis - think bottom of right rear pocket. Thus the feel is moving center of mass of the trunk out towards the right big toe during the turn and lift of the backswing and then the pelvis moves towards left ankle in transition - you feel like you sit down diagonally. That motion visual will help you maintain a stable spine tilt which really can simplify the arm motion and it's easier on your back than when you don't change tilts.
