$53,000 plus on-roads (I presume) is far too much for a Golf. I think it will sell in very limited numbers.

I have heard that because of the batteries, the suspension had to be stiffened and hence the ride quality is sacrificed.
Does the DCC option on the Golf GTE make the ride quality better than the standard suspension?
the car is very similar to the Audi A3 e-tron which didn't sell well at all. There is no MY17 model so it looks like Audi canned it.

Why do they always shoot themselves in the foot with ridiculous prices?? I had a Golf 7 Comfortline which I loved a lot but it cost $29K on the road with a few extras. I simply cannot justify an extra $20k or so just to have a bit of electric power. Why did they even bother??
$40k - yes, $53k - way overpriced
