  • I cover how to setup and run the cleanup sluice. Then I process everything that went threw the cleanup sluice, overnight in the rock tumbler with mercury to see what the sluice box didn't keep.

    That was a master class in gold recovery. I think that these videos are where you come into your own on RUclips, I know that you do all kinds of prospecting and hunting for the good stuff but this is where you put the time back in when your'e at home - not at the river / creak. Great stuff

    Thank's Gary for all the effort you put in to demonstrate that final cleanup ,it is surprising just how much Gold is contained in the black sand concentrate , reminds us not to throw away your black sand, unless of course your rich enough not to worry about it ,lol ,but as for me ,I like to get it all if possible , and it gives you something to do in the down times , cheers mate much appreciated.

    Good winter work. We used to just dump the B.Sand back in the river to let the gold grow up since the usual hump out was mile + @ 40-50 deg 2.5-3hrs bust'n butt out & 20 mins in. Anyone that wanted the B.sand could hump it out but 100% of the time they did it once and never again, LOL.

    If you take a short piece of the trouph cut off one side then put a bend to make a curl then slide it into the top groove`s -I used an end cap on mine but the piece you cut will slide just above in the groove`s and make a smooth flow then you don`t get a force flow , Have a look at mine .Last night I got watching yours and fell asleep so you got 11 vids watched from me so I`m going thru them now .

      It is a lot faster, but you end up with more to clean up at the end. The blue bowl is slow, but you can pick up your gold with a snuffer bottle.

    Gary, thanks for a very interesting video. Question, when you are tumbling your black sand, do you use any media to crush the black sand to release the gold that can be trapped inside the black sand? I always drop in a few steel ball bearings, but I don't know if that helps or not.

    • @TwoToes
      @TwoToes  6 лет назад +1

      If I am running material that is larger, 10 to 20 mesh I will put metal scraps in to brake things up. When I run the fine black sands, I like to tumble the material at least 24 hours, that way the black sand will scrub every thing clean.

      @Thebald1 5 лет назад +1

      I bought some of the mat from Lowe's for $17 for a 3ft×4ft and then I ordered a 4×8 roll from Home Depot for $65.. the Home Depot mat is a lot sturdier with deep V grooves and the Lowe's mat has Square grooves.. Lowe's sells the half round gutter for $8 and not Home depot. Also I bought the half round end cap for the gutter for $4.50 instead of cutting the gutter and folding it... the end cap fits on it tight and it also holds the water in.. the reason I used the end cap is because you can remove it without screwing it..
