I've been watching off and on for awhile. Also visited many channels because I wanted a better idea of what other Prospectors had to say. I iniatially thought your approach was a touch slow for me. Basically because I'm new to the hobby ! I was anxious to get going and wanted to experience the excitement of finding Gold NOW ! Gold Fever ! 😳😂
I soon realized after a dozen or so outings Detecting and Digging an finding "Nothing, Zero pieces of shiney metal" its a "Hugh Process" and wondering into the desert and picking nuggets off the ground was not happening and needed to start building my knowledge of Geology and learn how to read the areas albiet Desert or Mountains I needed a teacher ! Back to your channel 🤔😁 and I have learned so much. Love your style and can't get enough. I've actually found a couple Grams in the area I stayed the winter in AZ. Keep'um coming, I'll be watching, Thanks ! 😁😉😎

I appreciate the way that you often act as a "steward" of the land, and even though you want to dig around, you do not want to do more damage than necessary. I was tuning my banjo and you popped on in the background, I don't stop playin' for much so you must be alright. Keep Moving, keep an eye on our beautiful world. Most of all, GOOD LUCK! 🍀🧠💪♥️🕊️

What I appreciate the very most is how you take the time to move the camera around as you explain the spot you're in, and the options you'll explore, to show your perspective on the hydraulics of it. Excellent.

Thank you Gary, I'm watching this again because it's raining and it's just fun to watch your channel. Thanks for the videos. I especially like the way you instruct. You explain before what you will do and then prove your point with the Gold. Also, thanks for sharing those methods you use too. I just got into prospecting a couple years ago and keep learning from you. You have the best way to show "How To". Thanks, I just had to let you know your helping us all to understand prospecting and your videos have great scenery too! That snake is a reminder, keep your eyes looking around! OK, back to the rainy day videos. Please make as many as you can!

I have watched Matt's channel for a long time and what is so interesting I am learning to find gold, and I watch two toes from northern California for ever also and the Sierra Nevada ,high Sierra is his stomping grounds , I hadn't thought about where it is until like yesterday a day before seeing this.😅 actually today on lunch break I googled it. I have learned so much from Gary two toes videos, and then to see your video of the hike looking for the mine , was so cool . Very steep and rocky, I can say that because I live on the coast of Oregon, about middle of state , i smell the ocean. I hike in the woods here it's flat and there's dirt not rocks like Jefes hike. Thank you guys

I'm so glad I found your channel. I have a property in SW Virginia that has an old iron ore mine on it and I'm 2 10ths of a mile from the New River and the property is chock full of crystal iron round river rocks. For years I've noticed shiny flecks in the busted rocks. I know some of it is pyrite but some of it I'm convinced is gold.

Hi Gary. Wanted to thank you again for the incredibly instructive and entertaining video. I especially liked your review of how the various sizes of rock were deposited at the end of your video, as I was just starting to think about how to phrase a question I had. But then you explained that the smaller rocks were deposited after the larger ones, once the river had dropped. That made great sense. Thanks again!

Pinto creek runs through Pinto valley mine. The area I would be showing you is the part of the creek that runs into the mine. It's in a fairly deep but accessable canyon. I've panned in there before but I didn't go all the way in, but I did find lots blacksand.

Thanks for another Great Video Gary. You are the best teacher online i reckon. What a great little highbanker. If i could offer you a tip my mate gave me, that makes me feel alot better when i get home. Is to cut a little square of body board or yoga mat that fits in backpack, or drill a hole and tie it ,its to kneel on.
Oh yeah , and Pleeeease make a part two. I reckon thats a great spot. And i think i will find more nuggets in my gully now. I thought it had been dredged which it might have. But i got a feeling because of the rock bottom nothing stops. I knew those big boulders were our freinds will have to concentrate more on them .Thanks

You are the one prospector I can make bets on and profit! You usually have 2 things on your mind. 1) gold ...2) food ‼️🎯😂 Actually, the third thing you mention in every video is ...the angle of the sun and time to pack up and head out; but many prospectors have that same thought when they are heading out in lieu of camping nearby. I figure you live with a 2 hr drive from most places we see you at, but why is it always so darned far to pack in and out? I know you must run into an awful lot of rattlers, and that would make me hike out during daylight too! But I have seen bears and cougars in the hills around the 1500 to 5500 elevation both Sierras and Coastal, Mayacamas!

    Gary,
Thanks so much for the effort you put into your channel. I bookmark every
one of them. Can you provide a list of where I can purchase all of the components needed to set up that exact highbank outfit you were using please?
    Thanks much

I tried but we got a good storm and it dropped a bunch of boulders on the good spot. Over the years they have been slowly moving out, hopefully someday I will be able to finish that spot.

So cool to watch you find gold. Makes me twitch and itch to find me some shiney too. Wish I knew where to get looking around here though. Thanks so much for sharing your expertise, and for showing your gold findings. Seriously a gold nerve twitch going on now in my whole being.

A great video Two Toes! one of your best. Besides the filter mishap that is :) Gotta make a pt2 when you can really work that area and enjoy it. I look forward to seeing what came in behind that big boulder! thanks for doing these. You're awesome.

You're so watchable. I love the Tip about protecting your Lunch using the gold pans LOL! Nice one. I would perhaps like to understand better some of the issues described perhaps a bit too "generally" eg. What's too large gravel and *why* is it too large/small.. Thumbs up from Scotland where I'm off to Leadhills soon to see if I've learned enough to find me some river gold.

    • @TwoToes
      @TwoToes  6 лет назад

The gravel in a creek bed tells you everything about the creek and surrounding area, I am working on a video that will go in depth on how to read the gravel. At least what I have learned over the last 50 plus years.

Gary great video, I live in Lincoln Ca. Noticed you always mine by yourself. If you want someone to go out mining with let me know.
I have 240 acres in Georgetown Ca. with crystalline gold on it. Snakes are no joke.

I have a small group of friends that I enjoy prospecting with. A lot of the time they have the same problem we all have when it comes to getting out - working for a living. I consider myself lucky, I love what I do and I'm self employed, so I have a little more leeway. That's why a lot of the time I'm by myself. Most of the time, if you don't mess with the snakes they won't mess with you. Thanks - Gary

Hi Gary, as usual another entertaining and educational video , I always enjoy watching your channel .just before you weighed up your gold I took a uneducated guess, I was only .02 grams away from your total , which I may say is a fantastic amount . Best regards Lloyd

I was way off. I didn't think it would weigh that much. Glad I was off in the right direction. Thanks - Gary

Another great, informative video. Is that a homemade hand rake? I find I use a hand rake more and more, but I haven't found one that will hold up through a full season yet. Thanks for the educational, and entertaining content of your channel.

    • @TwoToes

I made that rake about 25 years ago. It is made from an old 3 prong garden rake. I will have to do a video on how to make one. Thanks - Gary
