Hearing Dan Huff singing shows just how much talent he has. His vocals are really hard to produce live and he does it so incredibly well. No auto tune and this is really live. Mind blowing talent going on here.
I'll see you in my dreams in the best fucking ballad any band can ever make !!!!! This song will always have a special place in the history of music !!!!!
Damn, the difficult level of “These are the Innocent Days” is off the charts, in terms of singing it, and Dan does an incredible job. He’s also a high level guitarist.
Last of the runaways and thunders back street symphony are two of the greatest albums prior to grunge. HRd rock bands with talent that got lost in the shuffle l. My too favorite bands because they hard rock and substance.
Yeah Dann is one hell of a singer. Love is vocal tone he kinda has a distinct great backing vocals too considering it’s all 100% live. Wish melodic hard rock popularity came back in the US so us younger generation born late 80s earily 90s could relive what we missed out on. And younger generations could check it out.
Dann did two first albums with Whiteheart and thereafter has done remarkable job playing on vast amount of studio sessions: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dann_Huff
I remember the first time I heard the White Heart song Go Down Nineveh - I was amazed at the guitar solo and the great tone (yeah, even on cassette). I'm glad Dann left and put out those great Giant albums. White Heart also recorded one of the best albums of the 80's (categorically) around this same time in 1989 (Freedom) with Gordon Kennedy, the guitar player after Dann. Win-win for us.
FREEDOM RULED!! Oh the great music of the 90's.GIANT,Novella,STRYPER,White Heart,IONA.Worked Security for Atl.Fest 88-94. Saw so many bands, artists.Met Phil Keaggy one night. He's retiring now, slowing down.
One of the best gtr players on esrth also. In my top 5. Or 3. Luke, Landau, Huff. Landau, Luke, Huff. Huff, Landau, Luke... just depends what these Aces are doing at the moment. Put there Thompson and Schon, the list is ready. Thank you guys!! World is much nicer place to be with your music!!
Giants album last of the runaways is solid listening from the beginning to the end. Between them and thunder the best bands that got lost when grunge was introduced
how can you tell it’s a charvel? looks like the logo has been sanded off the headstock, really strange. And all the san dimas models from that year i can find all have a different head sock.
@@above-us-only-sky it s Charvel by Jackson San Dimas Custom shop from 88-89 with a custom headstok, similar headstock like old Usa Charvel before Jackson era.Red guitar is legendary Ibanez RG Japan,i think is 1550 RG,later that RG is renamed in RG Prestige.Dan Huff in many inerwies say that hi is used Charvel San Dimas on stage,in studio hi is using Fender Super-stratocastet with a HSS configuration(humbucker and 2 single coils)and Kahler loking tremolo also custom shop.
Yeah I have that concert too. The DVD that the Arsenio clip is on has some other short tv spots (interviews and stuff). I think it has the Town and Country show on it as well.
glad kurt found that gun...hey man nice shot....nice shot man....also hated grunge...god i hated depressed angst and melancholy writing from grunge fools.
This clip just goes to show that being super talented doesn't always equate to being rich and famous... they were on MTV and here on Arsenio... Little Ceaser had the same problem... they all came out at the end of good music... too little too late... bad timing... I had 2 songs on the radio in summer of 1988... got nowhere.
I strongly suggest you read up on the band members. Dan Huff especially. One of the most respected, loved and admired producers, singers, songwriters and guitarists in the music industry today. Not a single person has a bad word to say about him, his brother David on drums, Alan on keyboards or Mike on bass. And I don't mean people like me. I mean the best performers and entertainers on the planet don't have a bad word to say about them. Don't confuse confidence with arrogance.
Dan Huff attitude? I don't think so. He's one of the nicest and most talented guys in music. Really humble in that he knows his skill and he doesn't throw around his weight around.
When live was live. No autotune. No sequence. No playback. Just an incredible band.
This, exactly!
In all fairness the harmonies in the chorus of Ill See you in my Dreams are playback but they were still incredible
110%. Excellent band.
Basically all backup vocals are playback from a sampler in Pasqua's rack.
It was another time, a better time. Tears come into my eyes, every time I hear this
Hearing Dan Huff singing shows just how much talent he has. His vocals are really hard to produce live and he does it so incredibly well. No auto tune and this is really live. Mind blowing talent going on here.
one of the purest talent you'll ever meet...such a TERRIFIC guitar player and singer
AMazing singer. But I feel that his lisping is kind of ruining it.
Didnt he play with Belinda carlisle or am I off there?
@@easyduzit9200He’s played with pretty well everyone ever lol so yeah you’re right
How come he doesn't sing anymore I recently saw a video of where he played the bass but another guy was singing the lead
This right here is why The Arsenio Hall Show was awesome. He had so many great artists who couldn't get on other shows.
His show was Really for everyone.. for Rap , for Soul , For oldies and for Hard rock and Metal …
I'll see you in my dreams in the best fucking ballad any band can ever make !!!!! This song will always have a special place in the history of music !!!!!
Best Band EVER ............!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Damn, the difficult level of “These are the Innocent Days” is off the charts, in terms of singing it, and Dan does an incredible job. He’s also a high level guitarist.
Truly underrated band...
You can say that again
1990. The Greatest Year of My Life. 'Giant' was a group that I always believed should have been bigger!
Dan huff please jam again with giant, your fans miss you
Dan Huff is the most underrated guitar player of all time…and those vocals!!!!!!!!!
Who exactly is under rating him? I rate him really high... I just discovered Giant and Dan Huff about 3 years ago!
I loved Giant, Chicago, most top 40 hits because of him dreaming to play like him. ❤
Criminally underrated. Should've been huge.
Last of the runaways and thunders back street symphony are two of the greatest albums prior to grunge. HRd rock bands with talent that got lost in the shuffle l. My too favorite bands because they hard rock and substance.
Love Giant! - Crazy that this video took nine years to find me! 😄
Dan - "Hey guys, let's play the chopped up radio versions and still nail the shit out of it."

David"s drum intro never gets old..Thanks for all the wisdom you gave me brother..Peace take care...
That guy is amazing. How does he sing like that? It's so unique
Incredible singing

Fantastic musicians with great talent and class.

Kent Adams Gordon did a great job filling Dan's shoes. And Dan with what he did with Giant whoa, win-win is right.

I love watching these old live performances. Arsenio Hall had some great bands on his show, I miss it.
Great upload there brother...

ABSOLUTION BAND
Tremendous performance. Looks like Arsenio wasn't all too thrilled to have the guys on the show though haha. Thanks for posting!
They were a great band, I still listen to them

Banda muito boa! Esse vocal canta demais
Dann Huff é o nome. Ele é multi talentoso. Toca bra garrai também
@@edaor3729 Exatamente, irmao!... O cara é fera demais!....
Dan, can play and sing. No packing tracks. One of the best guitarists. Impeccable tone a d technique.
Thx 4 posting ..🎙🎸🤠💙
So much awesomeness!
Album is amazing 🤘
Nice
Arsenio must have been a fan. He had them on two different shows to support LoTR.
Lost in Paradise is Giants most underrated song. They didn’t even make a video for it.
No Way Out is still their baddest Jam
That yellow Charvel San Dimas sounds great, and that red Ibanez RG!
how can you tell it’s a charvel? looks like the logo has been sanded off the headstock, really strange. And all the san dimas models from that year i can find all have a different head sock.

It’s a Jim Tyler custom guitar.
My 2nd fave guitar player ever after Tommy Bolin
Too bad they were not more appreciated. Great musicians.

Waiting for the solo... Dann said no ! 😢

Do you have the Dvd files? Want to trade?
Tito Schmidt - AOR Melodic Rock I do have it on DVD, yes. I'd just have to rip the video to my PC again.

I have their concert at the town and country club, London 1990
and many other Dvds of different bands. I can send my trade
list to you.
Yeah I have that concert too. The DVD that the Arsenio clip is on has some other short tv spots (interviews and stuff). I think it has the Town and Country show on it as well.

I'll send you my trade list. I have my
Dvds on Mega.nz, download is free and
fast.
they wouldn't be Nashville studio musicians for nothing :)
Back when talent was real, no overdub, auto tune, milli vanilla lip sync crap
and then Nirvana/grunge came along and killed all music like this. lol
glad kurt found that gun...hey man nice shot....nice shot man....also hated grunge...god i hated depressed angst and melancholy writing from grunge fools.
Yeah go figure

sommmm
Truly amazing musicianship.. Songs? Eh,,,
I just wanna get in my Silverado, bring the 425 horses alive, and street race anyone.
A lot of talent, oozing with ego though, should have taken it with a little more stride, maybe that was their demise.....
