It's a European thing kai Hanson who Is considered the so called God father of power metal liked mixing different genres too and by the way Europeans call it melodic metal not power metal or symphonic metal. They just play what they like. And kai did with gamma ray an awesome version of pet shop boys it's a sin. And by the way I used to cover journeys separate ways too back around 2005 but when I did it I mixed it up more kinda with some Bruce Dickenson meets Rob Halford maybe with some kai hansen Freddy mercury thrown in. I remember just wanting to make the vocals for me a bit more edgy while keeping the melodic structures of the original ans adding a Rob Halford high at the end with the no part. And this was 2 years before Andre Matos. Of angra covered it but I have to say I Like a lot what Tommy Johansen has done with this song and journeys seperate ways amongst many other songs too. And I am not just talking vocally either but musically. And you have to remember back in 2005 I was busting my butt just wanting to do what I wanted but all the American musicians were enthralled with so called trendy metal. Where I liked the European thing. It's just nice that this kind of music is cool again with guitars in standard tune and good cool sounding vocals that can still have an edge like Bruce and Rob Halford and Freddy mercury did for years and guys like kai Hanson fought to keep alive in the 1990s and early 2000s along with the hamerfall guys and ralph sheepers.
What a beautiful powerful song. Tommy is the gift that keeps on giving and never disappoints you at all. If I had my way, you would be nominated for one of the best rock vocalists on the planet.

Great song! I was a member of Giants Fan Club back in the day.. when you actually had to write to an address and if you pay w/ a money order you get some swag.. A letter from Dann thanking me for becoming a member etc. I also got like a Giant " backstage pass" and a couple guitar picks and an autographed photo of the band and a copy of their new upcoming cassette single from Time To Burn, the two songs were Time to Burn and an acoustic version of Stay, I think. It was pretty cool. Cause it was before the album was released.
