Thanks! Just did the job on a 2003. Instructions spot on and made this doable. No way I was going to drop tank and drive shaft. Done in 3 hours including the trip to the parts store to get the pump.
Make sure when you replace this style of fuel pump on 2001-2003 Ford Rangers, check the EVAP ports coming off of the fuel pump and make sure they aren't clocked too close to the feed and return ports. If the EVAP "tree" is clocked incorrectly, you won't be able to get the connectors on and if you force them, you will break the ports. Check this before you even leave the parts store because I recently had to go through two new fuel pumps due to this. It's a manufacturing defect, and both pumps were bought from Autozone, Bosch brand (means nothing, they're all likely made by the same company).
