Hey everyone, have you ever plugged your GPU into the wrong PCIe slot by mistake - or had X4/x8 speeds for any other reason?

I resized my gaming rig to microatx so new mobo, I had the issue where my gpu was running at x1 in a x16 slot so had to downgrade bios to a version of AGESA ComboPI 1.0.0.7c. It fixed the issue :D

@@KitsuneCatrina yikes, what was the performance like at x1? 😂 At least you caught the error before buying a new GPU or something lol! 🙂

i don't think it's important to change your face position to face different cameras. I think using only one camera to record is better (to me) in this case.

I appreciate the feedback thanks 🙂 It's something I've wanted to test out for a while, but it may take some refining and/or scrapping if needed.

    Mine is at 2x and it’s been like this for a year… I have a 4070.

But anytime I plug it in the stop slot I get power to the GPU just no display

Hmm that's all really odd... it almost sounds like a faulty motherboard PCIe slot to me. Do you see a massive performance hit at 2x? 🤔

@@TechOverwrite I did a lot of troubleshooting all day and I think its the MOBO slot. I even tried booting with no SSD at all so no lanes would be used whatsoever but nothing. I don't notice much loss of speed at x2 1.1 I can still run games at high FPS and even use RT comfortably but at the same time, how would I know if im really losing performance if I cannot compare side to side. I contacted AsRock, maybe I can get some warranty on this because to me physically all the pins are OK. Also on the specs it says PCIe 4.0 x16 slot *supports x2 mode* is there anyway to turn off x2 mode and get a bit more out of it?

Slight correction, when I launch a game it goes to x2 4.0 instead of 1.1 but still 2 lanes so yea
