Didn't even mention how he used the winds of the past to give Razor memories of his parents, there's just so many things that both connect him to time and make him suspicious. We still have the entire northern region of Mondstadt including its second city, dornman port, that has yet to release, so they're saving it for something

I would like to add that in Weinlesefest, Venti straight up manipulates time to bring back memories to others. He even tells us that he summons "the winds of the past" when doing so. Just some food for thought on his connection with Istaroth 👀
Another random little fact which reinforces Mondstadt's sussiness for me (discovered a long while ago): Genshin's main theme (which plays everytime we enter the game) in a couple of variations plays only somewhere in Mondstadt. Never in other nations
Mondstadt is definitely situated closest to Celestia somehow. I wonder then if Pilos Peak was Genshin's version of the Greek's Mount Olympus before it became the Musk Reef of today.
Or even the writing embedded in venti's huge statue, "The Gateway to Celestia". Bruh if that's not sus Idk what it is.

If someone says that Venti is sus, the first thing that always comes into my mind is his hello voiceline. I feel like not enough people talk how sus this voiceline is! My favorite theory is that Venti met the traveler in their dream during the 500 years sleep (though I guess this fits Nahida more than Venti?)

Both Venti and Traveler were awaken during Cataclysm and both were in Khaenri'ah at the time.

I also think it's interesting and sus that in every cameo he has in time-limited events, he acts as a catalyst of stories. He's the one with the very convenient intervention at the right timing and help that moves forward the plot. Like he constantly says, "seeds of stories, brought by the wind and cultivated by time." Even in more macro contexts, like befriending the nameless Bard, waking up right in Vennessa's time to help kickstart the revolt, or waking up a little before we arrive to Mondstadt, and I think it's super convenient of him. It also sort of echoes how Istaroth's main known contributions (Enkanomiya, Sacred Sakura...) seem so convenient as well. I think this is his role in the universe and maybe the reason why Istaroth created him (assuming she did), to be an agent of stories first and being a god is just secondary. He gives people the little push to begin a story or lets the right people to meet when they get stuck. Anyway, analyzing the things Venti does in events, and more important the consequences of these seemingly arbitrary actions or interactions, is always interesting to me
The reason i think that Venti was not affected by the irminsul is because he was born from branches of time which is different from the irminsul.
if i remember correctly there's lot of quest that mention that time was work differently and they can bind and move differently than the teyvat itself.
I think every branch have their own ruler (probably the shades).

I definitely agree with the fact that Venti is not affected by Irminsul. I sort of already mentioned this on Reddit, but if you look at the full line "Full of mystery, born from the branches of time, A history of glory and sorrow, and witness to the divine" there is an interesting part that rarely gets mentioned and it's the last section: "WITNESS TO THE DEVINE." Initially, I too had overlooked this part, but after the whole Sumeru Archon quest and we learn about how Irminsul can erase memories and that only the traveler was unaffected, it brought me back to Zhongli, who at the end of his story quest called the Traveler a WITNESS. At the time, no one really knew what Zhongli meant by that, but now we do.
The word "Witness" in context to Genshin means "Someone able to retain the truth after experiencing it and thus serves as a witness of the world." That Mihoyo should also use the same term to describe Venti, someone who we already know can preserve memories using songs and poetry, seems like a very intentional choice. And not only is Venti described as a witness, but a witness of the DIVINE. Meaning, he's probably well aware of the real truths about the world and the Gods. For even greater proof, look no further than the webcomic. In the comic when Venti literally talks about Gaia, Pangu, and Ymir and how the world was formed by them. How the hell does he even know about any of that stuff??? Wasn't he supposedly a wisp born like two thousand years ago or so? How can he witness divine events?
My guess is, the whole game is indeed a Samsara that repeats over and over again after a certain amount of time has passed. Maybe at the end of the game, we are leading up to some kind of apocalyptic event and it's up to the traveler to change the fate of Teyvat. Maybe Venti has lived through many Samsaras. That, or perhaps, through his connection to Istaroth, is just simply able to access information about the world and divinity that other beings just aren't able to.
This applies to Honkai, especially the finale of Part 1. The chosen traveller's role/purpose is the combination of the Flamechasers backup projects, and the main trio's final Herrscher forms authorities (Truth, Origin, Finality).

@@alicebalan I'm sorry but this doesn't make any sense to me. The Lyre that Venti uses now is "Der Fruhling" and it is nothing but a wind construct he gave his fake vision the ability to make since he's too lazy to carry a real one. There's absolutely nothing significant about it. If you have Venti, you can verify this by checking his profile, the information is under the Vision section. But If this is true as you've claimed, I'd prefer to see an original source and have it cross-checked with the other language translations.

I do remember about the webcomic. The thing is he was mentioning gods that don't exist in Teyvat, making Venessa confused if anything when he mentions them as they are gods from myths of other worlds
Everytime Venti appears in events, we receive either tiniest bit of useful info, or none of it :") Although devs could have been inserted so many interesting details, which would answer at least some of questions considering Venti
words written backwards in venti statue reminds me of Istaroth's name written backwards too in before sun and moon
they aren't actually written backwards it's just the font that the game uses to write those words makes the letter looks similar to their normal english font counterpars upside down so if someone tries reading them from the inside of the statue instead of the outside (like you are supposed too) the words will look like they are written backwords
@@shaikgb1 I wouldn't call it a "font" when it's a different script. But yeah, it's supposed to be read from the outside not inside which would make it left to right as it is for all instances of the Mondstadt script. It is still counterclockwise, although that might just be because counterclockwise synergizes better with a lot of things, including a script that's read left to right.

Jean states that the Cryo gods fatui have always coveted the anemo gods power. Mondstadt is considered equal in jeans opinion and venti is one the original 7. I don’t think we should underestimate venti. He cogoverned with istaroth. He could have knowledge about time and Fate and maybe the anemo god can to a degree alter fate. It’s suspicious that he’s awake right now at the same time as the traveler is awake.
Venti also mentioned how he used to be close to the tsaritsa. It could be that he just meant close like every other archon, but I always found that statement to be suspicious considering what we know (and don't know)

of all the archons, venti is the only one with cutscene that show the heaven (celestia?).

What makes that cutscene especially funny is that the angle shown with celestia in the background is not where celestia actually is in the game. So it wasn't that celestia just happened to be in the background, they intentionally put celestia in the background even though it shouldn't be there normally

Not entirely true. Celestia is in the frame when Zhongli throws Havria's items into the sea at the end of one of his story quests.
@@valeriadonghi When Venti and the crew go up to Starsnatch Cliff to call on Dvalin and an Abyss mage breaks his lyre and Dvalin flips out. There's a moment where you can see Celestia in the frame behind Dvalin.
We know Venti was stated to originally be a "Wind Spirit", throughout the game we've never seen, heard or come across any other material that talk about "Wind Spirits" (as far as I know).
The closest thing I would say is the Eye of the Storm enemies, so far they are the only creature of it's kind in the game, also they are 1 of the only enemies that do not drop materials. Anyways, we know Venti was a wind spirit, but what if Venti was actually a Seelie, lost it's original form, memories and former glory. Then throughout it's adventures it started to gain back it's powers. We know Venti now as a male character only because he took the form of his dead friend, but what if Venti's original form, lost to his memories was actually a kin to the moon sisters.
Wait wait. What if he THOUGHT he was a wind spirit but hes actually like a seelie but kinda anemo related. Like maybe there r elements for the seelies.

Seelies husks also have wings, guess who else have them? Venti ahah. Also their description matches him. I know he took form of the boy, but we won't ever know to what extent.
Fun fact, I always thought he IS a seelie because I thought they were supposed to be wind spirits in this game. I know what a seelie is supposed to be in folklore, but you never know with new fantasy settings. Then my friend said they're different things, just similar, but I'm still inclined to believe he is a seelie, maybe even the only one who was able to preserve his consciousness because of close ties with Celestia and the god of time.
Venti's elemental skill is called skyward sonnet
Its pretty comfirmed that venti knows the past,present and future(at leasts songs from past present and future). When in his trailer it also mentions"witness to the divine". This might mean he knows something about celestia that the other archons might not know or he knows info about istaroth that the other archons might not have. There r theories that under mond is khanderiah due to shadows below the main city in the middle of cider lake which is not impossible. Another thing that popped into my mind is that the anti clockwise statue part. Due to the statue going anti clockwise, it might mean that we r going backwards of the abyss siblings journey. Its weird but why not.
oh he knows something and definitely knows some dirty doings of celestia. Remember in the manga when vanessa said something about celestia and venti makes that face....YUP HE DEFINETELY KNOWS SOMETHING AND HE WITNESS IT FIRST HAND.

Anemo and dendro also have no reaction but in lore they're always heavily connected
Just like how Sucrose is close to Albedo but more connected to Collei in the windblume event (welp this is just a bit of a stretch)
Viridescent artifact is for anemo but the story within is about forest.
Husk of opulent dream is for geo but the character mentioned is now an anemo
Despite people are talking of how anemo boys saved the traveler I also would like to believe that anem characters seem to be protected somehow one way or another.
Kazuha was given power by his dead friend, his family history came to light when *Venti* visited Inazuma, and during archipelago which in fact a place that is also still heavily related to Barbatos.
Xiao tried to sacrifice himself in chasm but was saved by *Zhongli.* Venti also ease his karma occasionally.
Wanderer was taken in by *Nahida.* Though I'm not sure if he'll have interaction with Venti in the future
Faruzan is probably a similar case. She was saved by following the wind, and still alive because her time stopped.
I think Faruzan's case is literally

hmm could be morever he saves his PAST MEMORIES in poem could be that he is going to archons to tell them CRYPTICALLY about the past memories MOREVER even if the meeting grandpa with venti wasn't much but maybe this happens in future?
Venti used to be friends with all the previous archons. I don't think he's the one who's assembling Teyvat's "version of avengers", that sounds like what the Tsaritsa is doing.

I feel like before the end of Genshin's story, we will go back to Mondstadt for the conclusion. Mondstadt's characters are so intertwined with Genshin's lore macro-wise compared to other regional characters. Just look at Kaeya, Varka, Venti, Alice, and Albedo. Specially Venti.
Some of them has something to do with the cataclysm, alchemy, khaen'riah, Celestia with Vanessa.
If I look at Inazuman characters, only Raiden has something to do with the more foundational lore of Teyvat since she's an archon. The same applies for other regions with the exception being their archon. Maybe the only region akin to Mondstadt's lore is Snezhnaya with the Tsaritsa's purported rebellion against Celestia.
Bro, no matter how many latern rites Genshin celebrated or how original it gets with other regions or boundaries of creativity are pushed, original monstadt is the only true place of genshin is because 1st it was the mascot region of game and secondly an action adventure has to have a well defined medieval European style world to succeed. What I wish is that they stick lore and importance to monstadt because I am afraid that they had already made Liyue ( china, obviously) their capital of happenings and events and honestly I hate it so much its almost feels like betrayal
I don't know if it is true or fake, but Mondstate is the closest country to K'aenriah, as I hear. And actually, I really think that Venti will be the one who will start a rebellion against Celestia. Together, with Tsaritsa and Dainslaif. It is my own theory
So, following this theory, we will definitely come back to Mondstad before... The world will turn into fire again

@@suryapratap9913 Hmm... Liyue's lore seems more self-contained, and same goes for Inazuma. Both of these regions feel like they already served their purpose. Mondstadt, however, is left internationally unfinished. It's certainly going to be the endgame region.
What about the crazy theory of the God of Death Venti? And then he becomes Original God’s fourth shadow ? For example:
Paimon- moon goddess, goddess of life (flower of life)
Barbatos - god of death (plume of death)
Istaroth - moon goddess, goddess of time (sands of eon )
Asmodey - moon goddess, sustainer of heavenly principles, goddess of void (goblet of eonothem)
Phanes - Original God (circlet of logos)
WAIT THAT ALSO MAKES SENSE
I like the idea, but I personally think that the God of Death is going to be someone other than Venti. Venti was said to be "a single thread of the thousand winds" born from the "branches of time," which is Istaroth. I feel like it would make more sense for the God of Death to be born from the God of Life, as opposed to the God of Time.

Also death in folklore is sometimes depicted as a trickster, for example the folk song of 'death and the lady'. Food for thought.

Venti is the feather of death bc he either is already dead or will be
the cup of void stands for the 8th element we’re about to get. Dain already has it and its the melania of Genshin and no Dain also has no vision. The sands ofc stands for time, Istaroth, god of time who is using venti as an avatar otherwise he couldn’t stop time and remember people of their past memories and moments. And lastly the circlet of logos is ofc the primordial one and who of all people the same circlet, yup… Paimon. Paimon is phanos. And that’s cannon and I didn’t write this game, so do with that Information as you will.
It would be interesting if Venti turns out to actually be Istaroth.

Since venti was born from branches of time, i think venti is actually Istaroth's new incarnation like how nahida is the new Greater lord Rukkkahdhfjsa. And it would make sense if Venti can evolve into the new god of wind and time. Would also explain why he has memories of moments in time. Simply knowing allegories wont be enough to decipher its meaning without knowing the context. So to know the context there needs a nudge* in the right direction. Like how traveler nudged nahida into remembering what happened with wanderer and stuff after the quest.
Venti and Istaroth ruled a part of mondstat for some time before she disappeared. So it wouldn’t exactly be a reincarnation but something similar to how some flowers asexually reproduce.
Wind is cultivated by time after all. Its more likely that their relationship is more like mother and child.
Venti being/becoming god of time is very interesting and likely as well as it being paimon since mond has a lot of time references… maybe its the stupid theory with paimon but i think it makes some sense as well as she could be some sort of new/light element people speculate

Plus I went to the nameless island near Mondstadt and there's some kind of path that goes underwater here
I followed its direction on the map and it went to where we found paimon on the beach...
Well I could be wrong because I'm not sure if where the first cutscene took place is the place where we fished her out of water...
Anyway, I still don't like this theory because I like to imagine Istaroth as Venti's mom... but... then I imagine Paimon as Venti's mom and it feels... wrong.
The fact that his 2nd story quests hasnt been realeased means that hoyo is SAVING it for the future,And also taking time to make it almost perfect,almost like trying to not mess it up/rush it,Which means that venti's lore WILL be a game changer to the whole lore of genshin,and could just rewrote all that we know,+its mentioned in one of talkwithaster's video,Venti IS a really iconic character,Being (im pretty sure) the first limited 5*,the first archon,And one of the first person we met.

Very intriguing! Gets me thinking about the fact each archon has had some connection with time. I’m curious to see how or if the hydro archon follows suit, and if so, what of the other archons after them…
What if...instead of being some cryptic lore thingy, the venti voiceline was just the traveler playing dumb because they wanted to mess with venti ? Like venti being "we meet again (maybe just after mondstadt story quest or idk)" and traveler being like "uhh idk you" just as a joke ?
I think its like after the forest/statue thing like people say his statue greeted us but i dont remember bc it was very early game… but knowing hoyo its either a joke or sth important
Well, there is another situation quite similar to this one as well. During the end of Venti's story quest, he asked the Traveler to meet at the "usual place" and the words are highlighted in blue. To this, Paimon seems confused. She goes "what place?" But somehow the Traveler knows Venti meant on top of his Statue in Mondstadt. This is strange this inplies that the Traveler often met at this place with Venti, but if that were the case, why wouldn't Paimon know? After all, they supposedly met Venti around the same time when he was trying to soothe Dvalin, and since Paimon has been with the Traveler, she's almost never left his side. The Traveler does seem to be hiding something...
@@lahie16 Hmmm I'd like to debunk that Traveler is hiding something because if you remember the exact dialogue of Venti's Story quest, when we reach Venti at his statue, Paimon exasperatedly said that she and the Traveler looked everywhere for him. Meaning the game just located where he was for us but in reality, those two ran around Monstadt trying to find him, we just didnt experience that (mainly cause that would take too long). 😅

Wait, you say that one of Genshin's main plots are about samsara, and how that would be a usual thing, but I don't remember seeing anything like that outside of Sumeru ?
I also think the statue is pointing at Windrise's tree, which is where Venessa ascended, hence "the gateway of Celestia" because this is where the gates opened to her specifically.
But anyway, I love your theory! I always thought Mondstadt and Venti are more important than we think at first.
I'm also starting to think that all the problems of our nation is a kind of foreshadowing to understand Celestia :
- Mondsadt, freedom : Celestia doesn't let people of Teyvat be free because of constellations
- Liyue, contract : Breakinga a contract with Celestia means inevitable destruction
- Inazuma, eternity : Linked to my own theory, but forcing people to have certain ambitions because of their constellation
- Sumeru, wisdom : Teyvat being a whole samsara cycle that can't exactly advance because of constellations
Their parent story Honkai kind of hinted the theory, since many civilizations whom fail the test against Honkai ended up eroded within the the Sea of Quanta, or total reset. The Fatui Harbringers are meant to be the foil/parallel of the Flamechasers and World Serpents.

I like the theory, and I have some kind of idea of how it would work in Genshin's universe too, but I'd like to see some evidence from others instead of just saying it like it's some details not worth of more explanation
@@kiyomi_kamimoto in the teyvat chapter storyline video, dainsleif said something like "the war has already begun, it is just a continuation of past battles" idk if this is a hint that teyvat is in a loop or it just means something else.

I always thought of it in a litteral way, as in the war between the heavens and Teyvat kinda started thousands of years ago since the 2nd throne came, and that all the next battles and cataclysms are kind of the continuation of the first in some way since it's always the same opponents.
It’s really interesting that Venti is connected to Italian words, since in music (in particular classical music and music theory) many words come from Italian. So the fact that his name literally means “winds” in Italian (or “twenty”, that perhaps can have some connections to him by being the second meaning of his name) and Aria means “air” i think is not a coincidence and there is gonna be something deeper that connects all (could be from is backstory and Istaroth and the moon sisters or from something that is going to happen)

Forth possibility: referring to the time we stumbled on him in the forest while trying to calm down Dvalin and this is all a big misunderstanding (we didn't get a good look at him but he did see us).
I think many of us already know how sus Venti's "Hello" voice is ("Then allow me to join on your quest ONCE AGAIN") but while doing Mondstadt's Archon quest (again) I noticed that at the end Venti says something similar: "Traveler, as you sat off on your journey ONCE AGAIN, you must remember that the journey itself has a meaning".
Some of us were thinking that Venti's Voice line is just a joke between him and Traveler (that's what I thought too) but I think this another line comfirms that it's not a joke and this is probably our second journey.

Given the new stories - yes I believe that it all comes back to Mondstat and Venti.

Okay so I always had a feeling something was up with a clock, btw we dont have clocks in game anywhere, like functional clock. Traveler has one, but one hand is missing and i think its the one that points the seconds, moments- Istaroth. And then Dottore said to Nahida that Time dimension doesn’t exist in Teyvat thats how he placed the segments. Now, i think its one giant Samsara and I think that the BP trailer, the pale princess and possibly Dain are linked to that. How? Well, here is my theory: Samsara starts once something comes in Teyvat. Remember those 4 crowns we had? That is only artfact “set” that is just crown, and its talking about 3 previous samsara’s and the current one where Celestia is silent (like nahida said in archon quest). I think there is always pair of siblings/lovers that come to teyvat, one gets stuck (probably recorded in irminsul) and the other one needs to basically Become Celesia, to keep the peace and stability of Teyvat. Thats how I think the game will probably end, knowing Hoyo it has to be sad af, like us freeing our sibling from the link they have to this world but we will have to stay behind, or maybe Paimon will take our place making ultimate sacrifice for her- abandoning the Traveler..
We also don’t know how old he actually is. Sure he is 2,600+ since he got his human form but we don’t know how long he’s been as a wind spirit. We also don’t know his true strength.
the theory about the game ending in mondstadt is such a good one. especially with the theme of samsara. considering venti has apparently met MC before, it’s not a stretch to think MC & twin could’ve gone to celestia in this way before the events of the game/the first cut scene. like how did they even get to the exit in the first place without knowing the way before hand 🤔

Venti is related to time, in his first voice line it proves that venti is able to go to the future or the past. Plus, when you use the time tool in the paimon menu, everything stops except for the blowing of the wind/ the wind's impact of it's surroundings.
The fact there's not "about Barbatos" voice lines, the "thanks Barbatos...wait a minute" joke turns sus
Venti also says in the voiceline 'about venti' that he knows all the songs in Teyvat. If the cycle is true his voiceline could be hinting at it. Venti knows all songs past and future, maybe this is how he retains his memories. Nahida knows SOME stories and songs to help her remember. Also venti Specifies in Teyvat which could mean venti knows the truth of Teyvat. Venti is old, he knows of your sibling but he saw what happened and decided to not make the same mistake with you. As you go through his voiceline he makes a song about you. He could be doing this so he doesn't forget you. venti could be actively fighting the cycle, and you a being from out side the cycle could break it.
In the latest quest Caribert, we saw ourselves as our sibling. Maybe this has something with Venti saying we meet again. He probably saw our sibling in us and hence is very secretive and doesn't tell us anything
Remember the first time we fight dvalin with our "ameno machine gun " ? , we were like 99999 feets from the ground, which is probably high enough for us to reach celestia

I think venti means meeting him with the dragon or some people say he greeted us with anemo power at the first statue but i didnt pay that much attention in the early gameplay… but theory about it being his sister or story repeating itself may be some way true… maybe traveler dint wake up after 500 years but we somehow dont remember what happened… idk but also venti is og god and good source of info + he can make some incredible things and often is just too lazy or acts like he isnt powerful. Mondstads is clearly highly connected to time so noticing the city clock thing is also very interesting

I rather think the 'connection' between Nahida and Venit is simply that Nahidas story is used to introduce certain concepts. such as memory loss vs reality cannot be changed and yes the branch thing* but I feel all archon stories are meant to introduce concepts in order to understand the final one. Zhongli is about erosion ("time kills everyone, even gods"), raiden created conscious space to freeze eternity (freezing time), etc. *there are videos pointing out who venti might be (he was just a wind spirit before becoming an archon) but that wind spirit could be a "branch" of some being that 'exploded' into many tiny little pieces (=wind spirits) to save itself or something else. Also, there are videos pointing out that Venit might be one of the 4 shades of the primordial one, aka the god of death. then there is the endless cycle subject, which is basically a 'space' created by a god (namely, who else than god of time makes most sense when it's about endless cycles?) AND god of time is the one really connected to venit (and we all know how lots of theories point to who it is....) so my theory: God of time created a space what we know as teyvat and we're in an endless cycle because the truth/real world is maybe completely destroyed or something like that. Venti is the only one remembering everything because either he's one of the 4 shades (god of death would know all shit happening) and/or he's that branch thing of another being that existed outside the cycle. Maybe he's not even old up by the cycle.

lol, Venti's lore was definitely already written at this point. Maybe not the finer story details, but this aspect was established as far back as the manga and is nothing new
even before this video came out, I've already had the theory of a time loop in mind. I think that the fact that the game started with the with between us and our sibling vs the sustainer of heavenly principles. What if the sustainer was putting us in a time loop/dream all along? What if we never woke up? think about the warnings. Our sibling told us that by the end of the journey we'll realize what's this and that. Scara saying that the sky is false. What also made me realize is Dain saying in the trailer about a final door/destination.
I play Genshin with the Chinese audio (I am an original language enjoyer) and the song ‘Dream Aria’ is incredibly similar to Venti CN voice.
Also if you look up Barbatos' demon name on Wikipedia, it says Barbatos (the demon in mythology), is knowledgeable about the past, present, and future.

7:35 I started new game recently and can't but notice that Venti repeats twice or more what Paimon says. While doing Dvalin quests. I found it bizarre and thought it's just because of early versions of the game
Though it's not related to Archon war we must not forget that Barbados was not the first ruler or archon of Monstadt or one to be associated with wind or anemo as Decarabian was the first. So him pulling a leeser lord kusanali stunt way back then makes him OG and lore queen.
Late answer... Venti is the original Anemo Archon. Decarabian was the god of storms but not an archon, this is just a translation error into English. It seems like the developers themselves said that Zhong Li and Venti remained the only archons from the original seven. Sorry if there are any mistakes, I'm not a native English speaker
