they were one of the few out of town HC bands accepted as one of us at A-7, the premier hardcore venue in NYC in the early 80's. This e.p. is totally excellent. And Trans Am is killer with it big, fat whoosh sound and funny lyrics
There were so many great NY Hardcore bands. The tribalism you speak of at A7 is pretty fucked. Maybe that is part of the reason the NY scene was only a fraction of the size of the LA scene.
Ha! Recently I was wearing a Black Flag shirt & someone with NY accent said to me “Cool shirt & band, dude! I know I’m not supposed to like Black Flag but I do!” We talked a bit about me seeing them in 2019 & the drama of Greg Gunn, and he told me a little about the intense hatred of any hardcore that wasn’t straight from NY in the early 80s. I’m glad my little San Antonio scene in the 80s didn’t have that much prejudice!
My review on Allmusic written March 23, 2019. 4 Stars Adrenalin O.D.'s debut release, Let's Barbeque With Adrenalin O.D., is a very catchy 7" EP released in 1983 on Buy Our Records. Six cuts of exciting Hardcore with memorable riffs. These New Jersey Punks would go on to make some influential records like their first full length, The Wacky Hi-Jinks Of Adrenalin O.D.
Great group. Really one of the best on the NY scene and the best in NJ. West Coast scene was better than NY BUT NY had some great bands - Bad Brains (probably best hardcore band of all time DC/NY), Murphy's Law - funny band, Kraut, Reagan Youth and then a lot of mediocre. But at least every week some out of state bands came through!
Shaved my head, the first time, listening to this.
Fucking good Hardcore band! Great tracks! Reminds me D.R.I.

Greg Ginn, not “Gunn!” Can’t edit on phone for some reason. Although with some of the shit he pulled “Gunn” might not be a bad nickname.
If you were in the scene, than you know that CBGB's was the premier hardcore club.
Comedy HC Legends!!!
