It takes a lot of skill to sail, surf and foil all at once. More skill than I will ever have but foilboarding behind the boat is on my list. Those big jumps were amazing.
We ride in cold water, and I know it is definitely cold there. I really loved the commentary and the appreciation we share for what we do as watermen and women. The people who aren't able to experience what we do, ...I really feel sorry for. Water is awesome
Nice comment 🤙🏼I living in Germany , where prone surfing is not so.But most time I stay on an island in the german bay. So it’s easy and fast to get some watertime. But same time I try different watersports: surf, wave sup and now starting wing foiling. Same breakfast every day, but different methode to eat it 😅
Speaking of novelty, @2.48 you caught me riding my long, narrow and strapless downwind board. Not a recommended config for Fort Point but riding it in the bay with the wing gave me the opportunity for extended foil time practice ahead of attempting to paddle in on open ocean (someday, maybe, ha!). Thanks for taking time to film - hope you got some time on the water while the wind was blowing.
@@PhilipKlawitter Easy to get up on foil and paddle when the wind died a few hundred yards from shore : ) Otherwise no, there's a reason why wing boards can be squat - short and wide - you have the power of the wing to get you moving. The long/narrow downwind board is more challenging to stand on but once mastered easier to paddle.
Fort Point used to be on my novelty bucket list to surf (from the few times I was in SF) but now its definitely on my bucket list to wing! looked like leon from the UK on the f-one gear, that grom charges 😎

Cool experiment. Maybe is not something to frown upon. Did you felt the some advantages using downwind board while wiging?
