thank you so much for the video! I was waiting for such a comparison. I wanted to ask about the pickups in your Z-One. I noticed they have the covers as in BC1. Are they the same? Or did Reverend put BC1 pickup covers on your Z-One prototype? Another question, the bass counter wasn't rolled off? Thank you!!!!!
This is one of the first 4 prototypes so it doesn't have the reworked pickups. It will when Railhammer releases them though. All knobs were full on in the clip.
Would you recommend playing these riffs through a big muff and using the amps clean channel ? Or no pedals and using the gain channel on the Marshall amp? (or using a Marshall amp-sim pedal, perhaps)
I've got the Rev BC1 but looking at the new Z-one, what are your thoughts on them compared to the first model? If you had to pick one out of the two which would it be and why ?
I’d get the Z-One. The neck feels faster to me and the new pickups are just perfect. I’m getting the new pickups for my BC-1 and leaving my proto Z-One with the originals. I got a chance to play a production Z recently and it was so good.
i think the pickups in your prototype are different than the bc-1. for starters, the mids are less pronounced, but ken also said that billy wanted different pickups first, and the guitar was another thought that came along later. so i think yours are the same as the new ones, just without the etchings.
Ken said these are the original pickups as it’s a very early proto before they went into changing them. The alder body must be the big tone difference. I love it 🤘😁
Some of my favorite drop D tuning songs!
Keep shredding bro! Silverfuck is one of my favorite intros in Siamese Dream!
Great demo, awesome tone.
I love how versatile the VH4 is. I wish I could justify getting one.

Amp gain all the way. I rarely hook a pedal up.

Digging the tone of the first it's cleaner to me.
what settings do you use on the Diezel?
I know you’ve mentioned they’re the “Corgan” settings before
I change them up here and there. The Reverends like the gain around 3 o clock. Presence up a bit from his settings.
What is the song played at 0:54 to 1:03? Sounds beautiful man like I wanna cry real tears the way u play it
Porcelina of the Vast Oceans 🤘
@@spguitar haven’t listened to Mellon collie in so long…. Idk how I forgot! I used to even have a vinyl copy. Thanks for ur awesome playing!
@@jondodauno thank you for the kind words 🤘
Any difference in the neck? Does it play the same on both models?
The Z-One neck is very slightly thinner and plays a bit faster because of that.
They sound exactly the same.
In the room the Z-One is a bit more tight and focused. I’m gonna put the new pickups in it when they’re released.
Korina vs Alder really.
When gain is set this high and you are pushing through humbuckers to begin with, wood type really does not matter.
Ha!
