DD thanks for the FYI about the tall and short valve covers,,,,,, never knew it...... Good luck with the car looks great....... I'm not a big black knucklehead guy...... But am a four cylinders shave head oversize pistons slant six is in straight six Chevy's...... All so like 289/302 Ford -283/327 chev but that's me.Hey if your doing to heat a bent the headers. Make caps for top and bottom of the headers fill them with sand box sand then bender your headers you would collapse the tubes when you get done take the caps off the top and bottoms knock the Sand out!!!!!!!! A old plumber trick for copper tubing told me 40 years ago Take care JUNKMANDO
keep the valve covers loose the booster if you are running power steering go to a chev truck (newer) and pull the hydro assist out of it for the brakes hooks to power steering pump much smaller wella power brakes prob solved
There is one cheap (junk yard ) option for a small brake booster to clear the Tall valve covers,, I used a booster off of a Chevy caviler or celebrity. I believe the same booster was used on a lot of small GM cars between the mid 80s and early 2000s Buick Skyhawks and such, they all have the same part numbers . They are safely able to provide the same braking force as the full size versions. I was going to mention this on my earlier message but didn't. Looks good - nice work ..
don't move the motor forward. Take the tall valve covers and angular cut out the rear top of the covers and fold. This will still give you clearance for roller rocker. You can then have the covers powder coated
That's gonna be fun to drive with that Rat motor in there!! 👍I used a dual CCP 8" booster on my 56. It Works good and came with the master. Wasn't too expensive either.
Another great video thanks .looks like you got a good plan .did you set balancer on there to see if it clears heard you say something about it .keep up the good work .
Awesome project you've got going. I've got a 55 with a big block, but I massaged the firewall and run a small diameter points distributor converted to electronic. That way I could keep the engine as far back as possible with the transmission in it's stock location. I'm subscribed though and following along!
❤❤ love your videos awesome content
looking at your older videos great work
Love the room on these cars , even with a big block .
Right on, nothing cooler than a big block. 👍🏻

i think roadkill episode 29 or 30 on the motor trend channel has some discussion on the headers and how they look to keep away from the left tire.
Yup! I've watched it trying get some hints. Thanks man!
@@DDSpeedShop haha hopefully you dont have to make as many cuts
@@ASliceofWoodWorkshop I dont think I'll be very lucky.
Congrats on 1000 subs!
Thanks man!

It seems like massaging the firewall would be easier than crushing the headers and cutting the pan for drag link clearance, but to each their own
Totally agree. But I'm not going that way Haha.
I think u can get V.Covers for a mid 70 vett BBC will fit they have a cut slant on back of drivers side to clear booster
I'm gunna run roller rockers. So I need a taller valve cover. Nothings ever easy I guess.

Yeah it should be good at recycling tires. I'm getting excited haha
Watching 55 chevy belair videos from finishes to start . Aug 03 19 10:20 PM 😎👍✌🖐😍🇺🇸
If you do a traditional gaser straight axle you won't have those steering issues. Looking good
Yup totally! I wanna keep it stock front suspension. It's more of a daily driver with a gasser feel.
Are you running the 3/4” forward engine mounts ( for bbc / firewall clearance)?
Yup I sure am

Do you know Coldwar warriors? You should do a build together.
I'll have to check em out. They on RUclips?
My headers fit way better. ???
Loose the HEI distributor
I hate you always work alone. Wish I was your neighbor.
Yeah an extra set of hands would make my life alot easier haha.
