Honestly, if this was in the main game, the reveal of Prompto being a clone of Versteal and meant to be part of the Magitek Infantry would've been far more impactful and emotional than finding out when Noctis, Gladio and Ignis rescue him from Gralia.
Honestly all three DLCs should have been MAJOR moments in the main game. Gladio gaining the strength within to protect Noctis after being humiliated by Ravus, Prompto finding out who he really is, and Ignis putting on the ring should have been huge moments in the main game. If only one had to stay, keep Ignis's stuff, that stuff is awesome and has way more impact than Luna dying.

I think the Royal Edition adds these DLCs to the game, which I kinda like and hate. I wish there was more time to integrate these parts to the game already without them being DLCs. Honestly, FFXV is full of "it could've been better if so-and-so happened". Disappointing but I like it anyways.
I love the game and the DLC, but it would've been Infinitely better if these DLC episodes were integrated in the main game as chapters.

So...all along I thought Ardyn was behind the attack in Insomia, but it seems it was Verstael that proposed this along with his "pets"?
I'm also in the dark about some things like, when Ardyn absorded the deamons date back thousand years ago, did he also realsed it again after he was denied by the crystal, or new daemons just came around because he was still around?

MrTigracho Agreed, I don't think I've ever seen a villain I've liked yet at the same time hated as much as I have Ardyn. While I do feel sad for what happened to him, scenes like this just REALLY make me wish I could punch him in the face.

Ardyn is not only a fantastic villain but Darin De Paul brought him to life with such depth! Also, Aranea is the one of the best female characters in a game in recent times.

khfan4life365 I felt like it was implied Ardyn did it. It was all an elaborate plan to hurt Noctis. He helped Verstael create the Magitech army. Then took one of the infants and put him close to Noct. He assumes it's a Lucian. But I get the feeling it could've been Ardyn and that he planned to separate and and break prompto by showing him the truth, crippling noctis further by not only murdering his fiance but destroying his best friend. Only Ardyn would do all that for something so petty.

Even so, it's a magitek facility in the middle of nowhere. Judging by the whole setup, I agree that it was Cor that rescued him out of the goodness of his heart, but Ardyn helped him escape the facility for his own amusement.

So Verstael was basically a complete madman and everyone at the Empire just backstabbed each other. It's no wonder it fell apart.

I've been thinking about this for way longer than I'd like to admit. Its both interesting and heartbreaking because it points out how Sephiroth could've been a good person if he'd had a loving family and how easy it would've been for Prompto to go dark side. Also it kind of ties into a HC of mine.
And this time, it was revealed in NIFLHEIM instead of NIBELHEIM!
i'm shocked that promto didn't turn out like Septhiorth did.

If not for the cancellation of Aranea's Episode, perhaps we the players could see what other reason was Aranea was there. Since Prompto is identical to Verstael's physical features, I suppose hypothetically Prompto will look this way as a old man.

Doomtrigger I'd like to offer a different point of view to this thought. ff15 was not about Prompto it was about Noctis. the idea was to make a story focused solely on blondie without the major baggage of Noctis's story.

They were cloned and artificially raised inside the pods, all while being infected with the starscourge until they could be sublimated and used as energy to animate the magitek soldiers. While dormant, they couldn't develop a consciousness and the transference of spirit wouldn't fail and turn the robots berserk. Prompto was saved before the infection, but not before he was branded with a code.
If you explore enough, you come across a diary entry from a young Verstael, from the time he started working as an assistant to a genius scientist; if you pay attention, it sounds like it was writen by Prompto. One day there was an accidental leak of miasma, that he had to clean up, but he was yelled at, maybe because he didn't take enough security measures. We can presume maybe that was the moment Verstael became infected and began his slow descend into madness.
Prompto was what Verstael SHOULD have been, hadn't he gone through all that.

That's because Verstal is voiced by Steve Blum, who is very well known for Orochimaru as well as his Transformers Prime counterpart Starscream! And speaking of Orochimaru, did you know that Prompto's Voice Actor - Robbie Daymond also did Orochimaru's son - Mitsuki? Now that I think of it, I bet If Starscream had a clone voiced by the same guy who did Promto, I bet that that clone would've been like the Starscream from Armada! Well I don't know about you, but what do you think?

Rating on this DLC and was it worth it?
If you haven't played it yet, - I *really* enjoyed it. But that's a lot down to the game play. The visuals were amazing, and with the guns you actually need to aim. It's more than just button mashing (like in the main game). However to me it was easier than Episode Gladiolus - especially when comparing the final bosses, yet like i said - the visuals for the final boss are quite amazing. I'd recommend it personally, but I know everyone's tastes are different.
The only counter-argument I could possibly see people saying is that it isn't very 'fantasy' like. It's full of guns and machines, kinda sci-fi. But I think it's similar to FF7 so that argument is a bit silly.
